Chapter 579: The Hundred-Armed Giant
sensing the tense atmosphere, the Goddess of Agriculture smiled and said to Donald, “It seems that your rise to become a lower god while holding the throne has indeed drawn envy from many true gods!”
Donald smiled slightly and replied with confidence yet without arrogance, “I once heard a saying: those who aren’t envied by others are mediocrities! Those who wish to see me in danger don’t realize that for me, such situations are more like free benefits than troubles!”
Seeing Donald’s attitude, the three goddesses couldn’t help but show admiration.
This was indeed the ally they had chosen!
One who could pull off such maneuvers right under their noses clearly possessed great strength, at least on par with higher gods. Donald had offended only a few higher gods, and everyone present could almost certainly guess their identities.
To remain so calm and confident in the face of such formidable threats from higher gods was why he had been able to achieve such strength and status in just over a decade!
The King of the North asked Donald, “Is it a divine abomination?”
Donald nodded.
Aside from him, the incarnations of the three goddesses had long sensed it, and the Winter Incarnation of the King of the North also detected it to some extent.
Among the demi-gods and legendary warriors below, only Carlisle recognized the identity of the approaching enemy. It wasn’t because his strength surpassed that of the other demi-gods, but due to special circumstances.
“Damn it!”
Unusually, this legendary sword sage grew nervous and fearful, sweating profusely. Yet he gritted his teeth and held on, refusing to flee.
Seeing this, Donald waved his hand and released a divine light that enveloped Carlisle. With this barrier of divine power shielding him, Carlisle’s reactions were suppressed.
“Thank you!”
Carlisle’s voice was weak as he glanced at Donald with gratitude.
This legendary warrior, who appeared carefree on the surface but was actually strong-willed at heart, would never fear even enemies as powerful as true gods. But this time, for the first time in his life, he had no resistance against the overwhelming pressure stemming from his bloodline—bloodline inherited from gods of hatred born from divine abominations.
Noticing that Carlisle’s emotions were unstable and fearing that this terrifying experience might leave a shadow in his heart and hinder his advancement, Donald offered kind words of comfort: “Don’t worry about what just happened. Since you’ve reaped the benefits of divine bloodline, you must also bear the costs of it! When you become strong enough to surpass the original owner of this bloodline, you won’t be affected like this. As far as I know, that God of Hatred hasn’t made any progress in a thousand years and remains at the level of a lower god. I’ve already surpassed him now, and so can you!”
Soothed by Donald’s words, Carlisle felt better. He turned the pressure into motivation, and a fierce will to fight ignited within him, drawing even the attention of the three powerful goddesses.
The Goddess of Magic, Euryana, nodded in approval. “I see that Donald, not only do you possess astonishing natural talent and potential, but you’re also blessed by fate. Even those who follow you are among the best. With your words today, I believe that soon another demi-god hero will emerge from our human faction!”
Donald smiled and replied, “I hope so!”
With two true gods’ avatars speaking and receiving such affirmation from a powerful higher god like the mysterious lady, Carlisle felt a surge of confidence and pride. He immediately broke through the final barrier that had held him back, successfully gathering all his divinity to form a perfect divine bloodline, ready to ignite his divine flame at any time.
“Congratulations!”
“Congrats, Carlisle!”
Seeing this unexpected miracle, everyone present, regardless of status or strength, congratulated Carlisle. It was out of respect for the birth of an immortal being—a demi-god hero!
Through this transformation, Carlisle not only shed the shadow of fear but also reached the realm he had long desired. It could truly be said that misfortune led to fortune!
In fact, Donald wasn’t overly worried. Although there were many void monsters before, most lower gods would find them troublesome, but for Donald, they were easy to deal with. The Kingdom of Azeroth was far stronger than those of ordinary lower gods. For void creatures below legendary status, simply letting them enter the kingdom was enough. As for those above legendary status, with his allies here, they could be dealt with separately quite easily.
And just as the void creatures were dealt with, these abominable divine beasts intervened—more than one, and even extremely powerful!
This not only failed to worry Donald but instead excited him, making him eager to take action. Soon, the figures of those abominations appeared dozens of miles away from the divine kingdom—a distance that could be covered in just a few steps for them. Yet these monsters stopped and did not launch an attack rashly, as if waiting for orders from some existence. In the void, the vision of the true gods was infinitely amplified, and several incarnations of true gods could already see the situation on the side of the abominations. “One Witherer, two Blood Demons, and one Star Diver… Quite an impressive lineup! It must have taken quite a lot of effort to summon these abominations!” Indeed, for ordinary lower gods who had just ascended to their thrones, without external help, just two of these abominations would be enough to destroy their divine kingdoms and bring about their own demise! Even the weakest of these abominations, the Blood Demons, were at the semi-god level, while the most powerful among them, the Witherer, had reached the peak of semi-godhood, with combat strength surpassing that of ordinary newly risen gods! “What are these guys waiting for?” The King of the North, growing anxious as he saw no movement on the side of the abominations, asked. “They’re waiting for the strongest one!” Donald said calmly, before suddenly movement appeared on the other side. “It’s here!” It was a giant monster with a dozen heads and dozens of arms, resembling from afar a large tree with many protruding branches on its surface. “It’s a Hundred-Armed Giant…” Several semi-god legends present, including the King of the North, an incarnation of a true god, exclaimed in shock. Even three powerful goddesses, such as the Goddess of Magic, frowned slightly. The Hundred-Armed Giant was known to be the strongest among the abominations. It was difficult to describe the appearance of such monsters, let alone their cruelty. These monsters, which terrified the gods, had been exiled and sealed by the powerful divine forces that created them from birth. Other gods would release them when they needed their terrifying combat strength to fight against rival true gods. Every time a Hundred-Armed Giant was released and regained its freedom, it generally meant the destruction of a powerful old pantheon. There was a proverb among the gods: “No being can fight against an adult Hundred-Armed Giant, not even a god.” This shows just how powerful they were. Of course, this referred to adult Hundred-Armed Giants; the one facing Donald and the others was merely an incompletely evolved hybrid abomination.
