Chapter 580: Gao Man’s Head

The number of heads and arms of a Hundred-Armed Giant is not fixed; it usually ranges from a dozen heads and dozens of arms to hundreds of heads and hundreds of arms. Each head is a relatively independent entity with its own unique attributes. The more heads a Hundred-Armed Giant has, the stronger it becomes. Although this particular Hundred-Armed Giant was enormous, standing over 200 feet tall, it only had twelve heads and twenty-four arms, and its power was barely at the semi-divine level. It was a world of difference compared to the legendary Hundred-Armed Giants that could fight even against higher gods and gain the upper hand.

After seeing the actual appearance of that Hundred-Armed Giant, Donald showed a look of shock and disbelief. One of the faces on its massive body seemed extremely familiar to him. True gods did not suffer from the blurred or missing memories common among mortals. Soon, Donald clearly recalled who owned that face!

“Gao Man… it’s really you—”

The person Donald spoke of was none other than the evil sorcerer Gao Man, who had once been hired by Viscount Macbeth to assassinate him, left behind a map to the ruins of the Ancient Arcane Empire, and thus enabled Donald to obtain various advantages, including the Sky City of Sera.

“Weren’t he missing after the Battle of the Twin-Feathered Dragon Swamp during the Golden Snake Dragon’s rampage? How could he appear here, and even become part of a Hundred-Armed Giant?”

Filled with doubts, Donald stared intently at Gao Man’s head. When it heard his voice, it seemed to recall something, showing a confused expression completely different from the other heads, clearly still bearing memories of itself from before.

“Is it someone you know?” asked the incarnation of the Goddess of Agriculture.

Donald immediately transmitted what he knew about Gao Man to the three goddesses and the others present through telepathy. After receiving this information, the Goddess of Magic immediately analyzed the situation seriously: “Generally, evil sorcerers possess bloodlines from evil or chaotic creatures of the outer realms. I think it’s possible that this sorcerer has a trace of the ancient Hundred-Armed Giant’s bloodline, which is why this hybrid Hundred-Armed Giant captured him and devoured him, aiming to purify its bloodline and evolve into a true Hundred-Armed Giant!”

“Perhaps some powerful being is desperately trying to replicate a war machine of destruction and slaughter like the Hundred-Armed Giant, but unable to reach the level of power possessed by the ancient gods. So they capture lower-tier divine abominations with traces of the Hundred-Armed Giant’s bloodline, then consume and merge them to create this monster!”
“If it’s the former, then it’s just an accidental phenomenon—no need to worry. But if it’s the latter, then the multiverse is likely in for trouble from now on!”
Hearing the Magic Goddess’s analysis, everyone present grew solemn.
Donald broke the heavy atmosphere by saying, “Worrying here won’t help. Let’s deal with this Hundred-Armed Giant first. That way, we can easily determine the situation. Creatures nurtured through divine power leave obvious traces, and it’s easy to distinguish them from those born naturally!”
The lower-tier incarnation of the Agriculture Goddess also spoke up.
“Donald is right. It’s fortunate it’s just a half-god-level Hundred-Armed Giant. Though its combat strength is already comparable to that of powerful lower-tier gods, it hasn’t yet reached the level of mid-tier gods. So for us, it’s merely a nuisance, not a serious threat!”
The Magic Goddess said to her two sisters, “The three of us working together should be able to easily take care of this Hundred-Armed Giant. This matter is quite important, affecting the gods and even the entire universe. We must uncover what’s going on. As for the remaining divine abominations, let Donald and the others handle them, how about that?”
The Agriculture Goddess had no objections, and the Moonlight and Night Goddess Lauren was even more straightforward. This beautiful elven girl, with her petite frame, fair skin, silver hair, silver eyes, and a holy glow surrounding her, immediately took out her exclusive divine weapon, the Song of the Moon, and entered combat mode.
Though quiet and reserved, this goddess was undoubtedly a doer, not one of those hypocrites who only talk big.
With the arrival of the Hundred-Armed Giant, the enemy’s group of divine abominations changed. Unlike the scattered five Void creatures before, although those five had varying strengths, none of them had absolute power to overwhelm the others. There was also a destroyer-type being that only knew how to wreak havoc—trying to reason with it was like talking to a bull!
The Hundred-Armed Giant surpassed the other four divine abominations in both bloodline and strength. Thus, despite their differences, all of them submitted to this Hundred-Armed Giant. Led by it, the five divine abominations advanced together toward the divine kingdom.

Not even ten miles away from the Divine Kingdom, the hundred-armed giant couldn’t wait any longer and took a deep breath. Dozens of its massive mouths turned toward the Divine Kingdom and let out a powerful roar.

“Be careful!”

Feeling the unusual intensity of the sound waves generated by the roar, Donald promptly warned his companions and raised his hand to create a divine shield to protect himself and those behind him.

As he had expected, even from a distance of about ten miles, the powerful sound waves hadn’t weakened at all. Along with the mere sonic vibration, there was also a strong mental pressure filled with the will of destruction and chaos. Even lower-tier gods could be negatively affected if they weren’t careful. Their bodies would become stiff for a while before they could rid themselves of this negative influence.

The three goddesses were fortunate. Before the sound waves reached them, each had already erected a divine barrier, easily blocking their effects. The demigod incarnation of the King of the North struggled a bit, but with the help of the Ice Spear, it managed to withstand the attack without issue.

The others weren’t so lucky. Without Donald’s timely divine shield, aside from Ciri, the God of Adventure and Seafaring who wielded a true divine weapon, most demigods and legendary warriors would have lost the ability to fight on the spot!

Just ten miles—a distance that, for powerful beings like true gods and divine abominations, was roughly equivalent to the dozen steps between mortal warriors. It was almost always the standard combat distance.

As the divine abominations attacked, Donald and his allies were ready to counter them. The incarnations of the three goddesses formed a triangular formation, surrounding the hundred-armed giant. The Goddess of Magic stepped forward first and pointed at it.

“Mana Deprivation!”

This mysterious woman, who held the title of the Goddess of Magic, controlled all forms of supernatural magical power except for those related to the arcane system, divine spells, and natural forces. In other words, creatures with spell-like talents were like thieves encountering their ancestral thief in front of Euryana—such abilities simply wouldn’t work!

Among the divine abominations, aside from a few rare ones that directly used the power of laws, most relied on the twisted divinity inherited from true gods to exert their spell-like abilities. With a single “Mana Deprivation” from the Goddess of Magic, almost all of their non-physical spell abilities were suppressed!

However, this extraordinary divine power did not exert much pressure on a being like the Hundred-Armed Giant, who relied primarily on physical combat. Although each of its heads possessed a powerful and distinct innate spell ability, these were generally used only as supplementary tools. Legends say that the Hundred-Armed Giants were always fully armed, holding a giant sword or a spear in each of their many arms.

Moreover, they had a divine skin equivalent to that of true gods, providing strong defense. Sometimes, they would equip themselves with several different types of weapons to maximize their advantage in combat due to their numerous arms.

Yet even this Hundred-Armed Giant, with its dozen or so heads and dozens of arms, was utterly flustered when faced with the attacks from the incarnations of three powerful goddesses, unable to exert its full combat strength!

Although powerful, the Hundred-Armed Giant was merely a weapon created by gods and had many limitations. Due to the strain from its numerous limbs, it could not deliver repeated attacks with any single arm. In one attack, it could strike a creature smaller than itself no more than ten times, a creature of medium size no more than fifteen times, and a large creature no more than twenty times. Against creatures larger than super-large, it could deliver all its attacks in a single motion.

This was similar to human limb movements, which followed certain patterns—unless intentionally or accidentally disrupted, one would lift the left foot while swinging the right arm, rarely experiencing awkward coordination between limbs.

Although the Hundred-Armed Giant’s body was stronger than that of true gods of equal strength, it was completely immune to attacks from weapons below divine level and had strong resistance even against weapons above sub-divine level!

However, weapons with benevolent properties or those forged with divine blood could inflict normal damage on it. Both the Divine Scythe of Harvest in the Agricultural Goddess’s hands and the Divine Blade Moonsong held by the Goddess of Moonlight and Night were offensive divine weapons with benevolent properties. In particular, Moonsong was a powerful medium-grade divine weapon, its core crafted by Ignatz, the Lord of Elves, and empowered with divine blood and authority by the goddess Lauren—truly one of the strongest among medium-grade divine weapons!

Against such weapons, the Hundred-Armed Giant’s powerful divine-resistant skin offered little defense. Soon, its body was covered with wounds of various sizes.

Although the Magic Goddess did not wield any divine weapons, she was the strongest among the three goddess avatars, and her combat style resembled that of a mage—she could exert most of her combat power without using any weapons! In this battle, Euryana was the main force holding back the Hundred-Armed Giant, while the other two goddesses took on the relatively easier task of attacking. However, the reason why these three goddess avatars could easily manipulate the Hundred-Armed Giant was not only due to their own strength but also because, in addition to their respective divine roles, they shared some of the powers of the fallen Silver Moon Goddess. This allowed the three goddesses, working together, to exert a power far greater than that of three ordinary true gods combined! Even though they were currently only in their lower avatars, together they were strong enough to rival a true middle-tier god in full strength.
