Chapter 519: The Graveyard of Gods and Demons
Many god-tier powerhouses occupied their own territories, including many formidable beings beyond the status of demigods. Aside from the group that had come together, they did not communicate with each other, merely observing quietly the abyss below, where something was brewing, waiting for the passage to open.
While waiting, Donald noticed something that piqued his interest: among the totem gods, there was a group that stood distinctly apart from the others. This group was quite large, and most of its members were massive aquatic creatures. This led Donald to form an unexpected hypothesis.
When the God of White Mountain saw Donald staring at those unique figures, he explained through telepathy, “These are the ocean lords from beyond the continent. Since this Black Water Ice Prison is their territory, as long as they don’t cause trouble, we allow them to participate.”
Donald nodded in understanding. Apart from the totem gods on land from the Totoem Continent, those ocean lords hidden in the seas were often forgotten beings. Yet, even if their strength wasn’t on par with the totem gods on land, it was still quite comparable. After all, although there were few intelligent beings in the oceans, their territory was much larger than that of the continent, and those ocean lords had significant advantages in size and innate talent.
Two days passed like just a short meal for these legendary demigod-like beings, not to mention powerful true gods like Donald.
When fluctuations of spatial energy emerged from the vast abyss beneath the iceberg, all the powerhouses closely watched the changes below.
“It’s open!” said the God of White Mountain beside Donald.
Before Donald could say anything, the dark abyss below, like a sky filled with dark clouds, suddenly opened up, revealing a hole in the clouds through which sunlight streamed down. Of course, no sunlight actually appeared in the abyss—the light was not warm but rather pale and cold. Soon, a huge circular spatial passage, large enough to compare to a city, appeared in the abyss.
Immediately afterward, several dark figures leaped forward and plunged into that circular passage in the abyss.
“Let’s go too! As long as we’re not above the demigod limit, we can directly enter the Forgotten Ruins!”
Without the God of White Mountain’s reminder, Donald had already sent his people ahead. They had seen the outside situation through projections from their divine realms and, without wasting words, joined the two subordinate gods of the God of White Mountain as they descended into the circular spatial passage that had opened in the abyss.
After all the participants entered, only those who had come to see them off remained—most of them being powerful beings above the demi-god level. They took their positions, nodded slightly as a greeting, and then vanished as beams of light.
The massive circular passage in the abyss below also gradually lost its light after about three days and soon disappeared, leaving only residual spatial fluctuations and the still-mysterious, dark abyss.
As for Donald and the others, after going through a spatial transition, they reappeared in an endless, dim world with no discernible boundaries. This world resembled cosmic vacuum, with no ground at all—only desolate soil and rocks floating around. Nearby were fragments, some as large as hundreds of cubic meters and others as small as fingernails or even dust, resembling meteorites of various sizes floating in space. In the distance, everything was covered in mist, allowing only faint shadows that resembled landmasses or islands to be seen. Even for someone like Donald, who possessed divine vision, visibility didn’t exceed a few kilometers.
“Let’s not waste time here. We’re in a hurry. We should all work together to find a large divine tomb!” said Honghe God, another subordinate of Mount White God, as soon as everyone stabilized.
Before coming here, Donald and the others had already learned about the general situation of the Forgotten Ruins described by Mount White God, knowing that the most precious treasures in this world lay in those faintly visible shadows in the distance. Those massive landmasses, along with the surrounding debris that appeared to be soil and rocks, were actually remnants of divine warriors who had perished, mixed with the materials of this space.
Just like the numerous divine tombs located outside the outer realms, in the vast void of the star realms. These divine tombs were remnants left behind after true gods or powerful divine beings died—remnants of their divine kingdoms or bodies. However, most of these tombs were pulled deep into the star realms by the void forces of those realms. Even powerful higher-tier gods or true gods couldn’t guarantee returning unharmed when venturing deep into those realms.
Many years ago, many true gods from the material world ventured deep into the star realms in search of precious immortal artifacts or divine tombs left by powerful true gods. But in the end, only a very few of them managed to return successfully.
Thus, having learned their lesson, no gods dared to venture deep into the Star Realm to seek death; they usually only searched the peripheries for any remaining divine artifacts that might exist. The situation in the World of Forgotten Ruins was clearly very similar to the Star Realm. However, unlike the vast and endless Void Star Realm, this world had limited space, and its dangers were much less severe. Yet it still restricted those who entered to beings below demi-gods. Its rules were extremely peculiar and powerful; even the suppressed demi-gods had to fly slowly, unable to use abilities like teleportation, and all their powers were essentially confined to the legendary level. If they tried to use powers beyond that level, it became extremely difficult, with them only being able to exert about 20% of their true strength. Donald, still worried, secretly sensed the situation of the Door of Indefiniteness and was relieved to find that this true divine artifact could still be used freely within this space. “The World of Forgotten Ruins is filled mostly with demi-god-level divine remains—these are all the cannon fodder from the ancient battles between gods and demons, as well as those left behind by demi-gods who ventured here over the years and died!” As they flew in a certain direction, Red River God, who was good at speaking, explained to everyone. These powerful explorers came mainly to obtain materials for these immortal artifacts, or even divine artifacts or divine essences left by fallen gods and demons. Of course, the latter were extremely rare. While flying, Donald suddenly sensed a divine aura surrounding him through the projection of the Book of Truth. With a wave of his hand, he drew a “meteorite” the size of a house in front of him. With a light touch of his finger, the soil and rocks on the surface of the meteorite began to crumble and were gradually peeled away, until only a fist-sized piece remained. Donald held it in his hand and squeezed hard— the rock, which was already as hard as metal, turned to dust, leaving behind a half-finger-sized dark red, translucent stone. Seeing this, Red River God said with a smile, “Good luck! Even demi-god remains are usually hidden among countless ruins; it’s rare to find them outside the divine tombs!” Donald smiled silently upon hearing this. After sensing the situation in the space, he noticed a direction with the strongest divine aura and led everyone there. As soon as Donald moved, Charlie’s Winter Avatar and his other subordinates followed. As for Red River God and Warhammer God, the two subordinate gods of White Mountain God, they exchanged a glance and also rushed after them.
