Volume 27: Ragnarök

Chapter 518: The Abyss of Ice Hell

After entering Donald’s divine realm, he had been busy taking control of the Winter Wolf Divine Realm to make it his own. The King of the North, who had created an avatar, was utterly astonished.

Donald raised his hand and said, “This is my divine realm—the land of legends and dreams, Azeroth!”

Charlie widened his eyes in disbelief. Compared to his own Divine Realm of Winter and North Wind, Donald’s realm was at least ten times larger. After all, the Winter Wolf God’s realm was already larger than most lower-tier divine realms, so just imagining the scale of Azeroth was astonishing.

Seeing the thriving ecosystems within Azeroth and the adventurers who had come to explore it, King Charles of the North didn’t know what to say.

“Your Highness Donald, you never fail to amaze me! Such a vast divine realm, yet you manage its rules so meticulously. I doubt even most mid-tier gods could match you!”

Donald shook his head and said, “I’m still far from there.”

Having seen powerful divine realms like the Truth Kingdom, Donald found it hard to be satisfied with his own realm. But this was something that couldn’t be rushed.

Charles couldn’t help but exclaim, “No wonder you wanted to establish your realm in that area. With such a huge realm, and considering it will grow even more in the future, only the vast outer regions can accommodate it!”

Donald nodded but didn’t respond. His goal was to become as powerful as high-tier gods like the Goddess of Magic and the Lord of Dawn. Naturally, he wouldn’t settle for just finding a spot in a neutral divine realm.

It was like a person destined to be wealthy wouldn’t consider buying a cramped apartment in a crowded residential area—they would rather buy a large house in the suburbs.

After visiting Azeroth, King Charles of the North gained deep insights into the construction and organization of divine realms. He left his winter avatar in Donald’s realm, while the true god returned to the capital to further refine control over the realm’s rules.

With a few days left before the portal was expected to open, Donald gathered all those who were ready to go and brought them to his divine realm. They were instantly transported to Golden Sand City on the new continent.

Upon arriving at the Great Temple of Ciri, the God of White Mountain had already been waiting there for a long time.

Flanking the White Mountain God were two more totem gods. One was someone Donald recognized—the patron of the legendary Spear God, his long-time rival, as mentioned by Ciri. The other was an unfamiliar totem god. Judging from their presence, both were clearly powerful demi-god totem gods, as evidenced by the fact that the God of War Hammers had been at odds with the Stone Bear God under the God of Chaos for years.

The White Mountain God rarely sent subordinates below the level of demi-gods into dangerous places like the Forgotten Ruins. Only powerful demi-god totem gods had a decent chance of survival there; those with weaker abilities would mostly end up as sacrifices. Why send them to die needlessly? So, once again, only two powerful demi-gods were sent.

“Prince Donald, where are your men?” the White Mountain God asked upon seeing him alone.

Donald waved his hand, and eight figures appeared instantly. Five of them radiated intense divine light—five powerful demi-god-level warriors. The other three also stood out from ordinary people in both appearance and presence, clearly being equally formidable legendary warriors.

The five demi-god-level figures were Charlie and Donald’s two major avatars, along with the Holy Light Angel Uther, the Abyssal Demon Forger Amps, and the God of Adventure and Seafaring, Ciri.

As for the three legends, they were the Archmagician Chikofield, the Magic Sword Carlisle, and Colin, a legendary grand mage sent by the Celtic royal family.

The avatar of a demon hunter, who resembled a handsome dark elf, spoke expressionlessly to the White Mountain God and the others, “Apart from my true form, everyone sent on this mission is here!”

The White Mountain God was deeply impressed. He had originally planned to bring only Donald’s demi-gods and Ciri, a trusted totem god, to increase their chances of success, not expecting them to be so strong. After all, he knew Donald fairly well—his transformation into a true god had only happened a couple of years ago. No matter how talented or potent he was, he could at most summon just those two demi-god-level warriors.

Yet, he was given a huge surprise.

“Great! With everyone’s help, if we work together and luck isn’t too bad, we’ll surely be the biggest winners on this mission to the Forgotten Ruins!”

“Hehe!” Donald’s true form laughed. “Then I’ll take your words as good fortune, Lord White Mountain!”

With that, the ten of them set off under the leadership of the White Mountain God.

To make travel easier, Donald once again brought all his forces back to his divine kingdom.

For this mission, he was thoroughly prepared. Not only did he hand over his exclusive divine artifact, Fury of Nature, to his avatar, but he also had it carry the Gate of Indefiniteness and a projection of the Book of Truth. The auxiliary effects of the Gate of Indefiniteness, a true divine artifact, were extremely powerful. Even within the Forgotten Ruins, where space was completely isolated from the outside world, even higher gods might not be able to break through the spatial barriers to teleport unless they opened them. Yet at least the Gate of Indefiniteness allowed Donald to teleport instantly without obstruction inside, greatly increasing his chances of survival. Although the projection of the Book of Truth wasn’t as powerful as the original book, it was still a projection of a high-tier divine artifact. Though its functions had certain limitations, its power was still far greater than that of ordinary lower-tier divine artifacts. With an avatar of a demi-god wielding two true divine artifacts, a pair of secondary divine artifacts, and a projection of a high-tier divine artifact, his strength was nearly on par with that of a fully empowered lower-tier god. With such confidence, Donald was utterly sure of success in this mission! True divine beings could travel beyond ordinary forms; even in the material world, they could cover hundreds or thousands of kilometers in an instant. If they had been to a place before, as long as it wasn’t across two dimensions, they could teleport there instantly. Even interdimensional teleportation wasn’t a difficult task for them. Soon, Donald and the God of White Mountain sensed the sea in the depths of the northern part of the Totem Continent. Everything along the way was pitch black—not only was the sky overcast and dim, but they also encountered several storms that would be catastrophic for ordinary people. Even the seawater here was black. Donald knew that the seawater itself had no color; it appeared black only due to the surrounding environment, showing just how harsh the conditions here were. However, the further north they went, the colder it became, and the violent storms stopped. Signs of floating ice islands and icebergs appeared in the icy waters. Further north lay an ice sheet covered in ice and snow, which, from afar, appeared as vast as a continent. Mountains surrounded the ice sheet, and between countless towering and treacherous icebergs lay a deep, bottomless abyss. Such terrain even made a true divine being like Donald marvel at the wonders of nature, beyond human comprehension! “We’ve arrived!” The God of White Mountain said, pointing downward from the top of an iceberg near the abyss.

Looking at the already dark and ominous Nie in the abyss below, the God of White Mountain guessed, “The passage should open in about two days.” Donald nodded, then glanced around and noticed that on the icebergs surrounding this massive chasm, many divine glows had appeared—among them, one he recognized. Smiling at this, Donald said, “It seems not only Your Highness White Mountain has brought help this time!” Donald knew several demigods from the Main Continent, as well as that old acquaintance, the Messenger of Dawn. There were also dozens of other unfamiliar demigod auras, plus the totem gods present. It seemed there were at least a hundred or so powerful competitors on this journey to the Ruins of Oblivion, not to mention the hundreds of opponents at the legendary level. At least half of the hundreds of legendary totem gods from the Totoem Continent had come, and the Main Continent’s forces and the gods’ followers were also filled with legendary professionals. The God of White Mountain wasn’t surprised at all. As the most powerful among the totem gods aside from the two sovereigns, these lower-ranking totem gods naturally knew well about the strength of the true gods on the Main Continent. A few of them had even engaged in secret dealings with the Main Continent’s gods and reached certain agreements. Although the totem gods were far inferior to the Main Continent’s gods in both number and strength, they had the advantage of being earth gods in their own world. The Sun God and the Dark Moon God, two powerful totem gods at the peak of mid-tier divinity, weren’t restricted by the Main Continent’s gods in their own realm and could even exert the power of high-tier gods there. Just these two sovereigns were enough to keep all outsiders at bay, whether they were incarnations of powerful high-tier gods or other strong true gods! Beneath these two divine kings were nine lower-ranking totem gods, each with seven or eight, or at least two or three, demigod sub-gods, forming a powerful divine faction. Coupled with the fact that almost everyone possessed at least one true divine artifact, if the true gods from the Main Continent, with equal strength and numbers, sent their incarnations to confront them, they would have no chance of winning. But due to their limitations as earth gods, the totem gods were destined to be more defensive than offensive. On the Totoem Continent, they were supreme earth gods, absolute rulers of their own territories. Yet once they left the Totoem Continent, they were just stronger demigods. If they left their own world, facing gods who could unleash their full power without any constraints, they would be utterly at their mercy!

Fortunately, the gods of the main continent also had no intention of completely eradicating the totem gods. After all, these earth gods had little need for worship, and they could coexist with the true gods without any absolute conflicts of interest. Otherwise, if they were willing to endure the backlash from their own planes and sacrifice some of their power, the powerful true gods above the rank of mid-tier gods could send their avatars to destroy the Totoem Continent, rendering these totem gods rootless and stripping them of their source of power, thus knocking them all from their divine thrones.
