Chapter 239: The Sea of Another World (Part 1)

Visibility was low outside the storm belt, so Donald and his four companions joined forces to stay anchored on the large piece of floating ice created by Donald’s magic, preventing them from being scattered by the fierce winds.
It should be noted that on such a desolate sea, even a Golden Sword Saint whose physical strength far exceeds that of ordinary people would find it extremely difficult to survive once adrift in the endless ocean.
Fortunately, mages are far more advantageous in such harsh conditions than sword saints who rely solely on combat skills. In this situation, a simple water-creation spell is more effective than a Golden Sword Saint’s ultimate sword techniques.
There is no fresh water in the sea. Aside from the female sword saint, the other three had small storage devices: one was a spatial imprint belonging to the hero himself, another was stolen from a dark mage in the underground world, and the third was a fine item from their family’s collection.
However, the storage capacity of Carlisle and the others was limited, allowing them to carry only a small amount of drinking water, which would run out in a few days if used. It wasn’t that they hadn’t considered such preparations—it would be tragic to end up without water while traveling with a Golden Mage! The food and water they brought were merely as a precaution, to be used in case they were separated from Donald.
Thus, the responsibility of providing drinking water fell on Donald, the mage. Although seawater is made of water, it lacks fresh water suitable for consumption.
Donald didn’t use a water-creation spell to produce water because, though the water created by magic was pure, it lacked the minerals and nutrients found in natural water, being bland and tasteless. So, for these few days, he provided them with water stored in his own storage space.
This water was purified twice at his own estate, retaining the beneficial elements of lake water while removing impurities. It had a naturally sweet and refreshing taste—such quality could only be found in ice springs in the snow-capped mountains. Before leaving, Donald had specifically instructed his servants to fill many wooden barrels with this water, enough for the five of them to drink for half a year.
Even someone as powerful as Viscount Ansel, Vincent, couldn’t enjoy such spring water all year round!
In addition to drinking water, Donald’s space was also well-stocked with various supplies. There was plenty to drink—wine, beer, maple syrup, and some fruit juices. Food was also always readily available. Since the space was a vacuum with no air, these items had an extremely long shelf life.

After so much time of continuous accumulation, Donald’s storage space was now large enough to hold half of Dusk Town. Even a massive creature like the Bottom-Dwelling Demon Fish only took up a small corner of it. The equipment in the largest spaces belonging to people like Vincent was nowhere near comparable.

Thus, the five of them searched through the storm until, just one day before the great tide, they found the location described by the Bottom-Dwelling Demon Fish.

It was a storm belt that resembled an endless dragon, stretching across the gloomy sea surface. Countless hurricane tornadoes surrounded it, with eye storms scattered above. Lightning flashed amidst the dark clouds, creating an atmosphere that felt like the end of the world.

“Guys, I think we’ve found it!” Donald said, pointing ahead.

Seeing that stormy expanse, Carlisle asked in disbelief, “Could there really be a passage in there?”

“Let’s find out by trying!” Donald smiled, activating his divine shield and controlling the floating ice beneath him as they drifted toward the core of the storm belt.

“Hey! Are you serious?” Seeing Donald lead everyone straight toward that stormy area without hesitation, even Carlisle’s bold nature made him nervous.

Donald laughed and said, “Don’t worry! I’m just going to give it a try. The time for the passage to open hasn’t arrived yet. I wouldn’t risk our lives!”

Only then did Carlisle feel a little relieved. He realized that being bold wasn’t necessarily a good trait. This human mage, who seemed fearless and unconcerned about anything, had even dared to scold the Spider Queen face-to-face in the underground world. Some of his actions were truly a test to one’s courage.

According to the Bottom-Dwelling Demon Fish, although the Inner Sea of the Stormy Seas was also shrouded in fierce winds year-round, making it impossible for human ships to navigate, human beings could only create routes in the shallow coastal waters. Yet, there were still sea lords in the inner sea. Only the area near the outer sea of the Stormy Seas had no sea lords—after all, no one would dare settle their home in a place that could be destroyed by spatial storms at any moment.

Compared to the Stormy Seas, which covered the entire northern and southern continents, the Falling Star Sea was merely an inner sea. If it weren’t for the frequent powerful storms and lightning in the Stormy Seas, as well as terrifying phenomena like spatial rifts, even larger marine creatures wouldn’t dare surface. The deep-sea giant would also not choose to settle in the Falling Star Sea. Though smaller, it allowed for greater freedom of movement, and there were no stronger beings there.

Thus, aside from the thousand years it spent near the passage after emerging from it, observing its patterns with the intention of returning to its original world, most of the time it lay dormant on the seabed of the Fallen Star Sea. Deep-sea monsters with long lifespans usually sleep for centuries before emerging to hunt. So there was no need to worry about encountering that most terrifying existence in the sea in the coming days.

Most of the day passed quickly. When the silver moon rose in the sky, faintly visible through the fierce winds and dark clouds, changes finally occurred within the storm zone.

These changes were invisible to the naked eye; unless one entered it personally, or even a semi-divine being, no one could detect any abnormalities.

Donald was confident that the bottom-dwelling demon fish would not dare deceive him. So he once again activated the divine shield through the Book of Truth and deployed a series of defensive spells around him. Uther was ready at all times to unleash a sacred shield to protect his master.

Vincent, Carlisle, and the other three Sword Saints also focused intently on the shields Donald had activated. The moment they showed signs of failing, they would immediately deploy sword energy shields to protect themselves.

Upon entering the storm zone, the fierce winds caused the outermost defensive spell shields to tremble, but they showed no signs of collapsing yet. The people on the floating ice breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the storm zone wasn’t as dangerous as it seemed.

However, before they could think further, several lightning bolts struck above their heads, instantly piercing through the outer three layers of shields.

Fortunately, Donald had prepared over a dozen layers of spell shields, with greater power and stronger defense as they moved deeper in.

But the situation worsened as they approached the center of the storm zone.

Cracking sounds came from all around, and Carlisle immediately cried out, “Below! The ice below is breaking…”

This time, they realized that the bottom of the floating ice was disintegrating, and even the seawater was no longer safe.

Yet Donald wasn’t overly worried. He remained calm because the subsequent defensive spells, including the divine shield, provided circular, all-around protection. They were likely nearing their destination, and he was confident he could endure this dangerous journey and reach safety.

The fierce winds and lightning constantly struck the shields on the outside of the floating ice. As layer after layer of defensive spells was shattered, the size of the floating ice, which had once been large enough to accommodate a hundred people, shrank rapidly, soon reducing to half its original size.

At that moment, a tiny black crack formed by spatial debris suddenly appeared out of nowhere, like the sharpest blade, instantly shattering five of the remaining seven layers of light shields. Just one more attack like that, and they would be completely exposed.
“Quick! Add more defenses!”
Vincent and Carlisle, the two Sword Saints, shouted. Female Sword Saint Abel remained quite calm, but judging from her fingers, which had turned white around the hilt of her sword, it was clear she was also extremely nervous.
Donald, however, remained unfazed and said, “Don’t worry! It can still hold!”
As they spoke, they faced a second attack from spatial debris. Amidst the intense efforts of the three Sword Saints to maintain their energy shields, the spatial debris broke through the second-to-last layer of light shield but stopped before the last layer of pale golden light shield. Then, to the astonishment of the three, it vanished into nothingness.
The last layer of shield only wobbled slightly and wasn’t severely damaged.
It should be noted that although these attacks caused by spatial energy were small in size, each one carried the power of a legendary warrior’s strike, and they came suddenly at speeds comparable to lightning. Unless one could predict them in advance, there was no time to dodge.
Even half-godly warriors might be able to withstand one or two such attacks, but facing many would be disastrous, with a high chance of death.
No wonder Carlisle and the others were surprised. But they understood not to ask Donald what kind of shield it was. Everyone had their own secrets. As long as it could protect them, their interests were aligned, and there was no need to strain relationships over such matters.
After withstanding several more attacks from spatial debris, Donald’s shield managed to block all the explosive spatial energy. Although there were a few instances where multiple attacks made the pale golden shield unstable, it quickly returned to normal, leaving Vincent and the others in awe.
Only Donald knew that just enduring those attacks had cost him over twenty drops of his divine energy. Converted into energy, it would likely be enough to create seven or eight towns like Dusk Town out of thin air.
But in such a dangerous environment, he couldn’t afford to worry about losing that energy. If their mission succeeded, the rewards would be a thousand times greater, making it worth the expense.
