Chapter 57: The Land of Endings, Section 6
Black Hair was ready to fight to the death!
As a lord who already possessed a Black Hole Cannon, he was well aware of the terrifying power of such a weapon. From the moment he realized he had been tricked by the Emperor of Moore, he had no intention of returning unscathed. But even if he had to sacrifice himself, it certainly shouldn’t be now, nor should the cost be so heavy.
Black Hair couldn’t allow his subordinates to suffer the same fate as his former enemies—being forcibly pulled into black holes. To prevent this, the neutralizing effects of Thor’s Fortress alone were far from enough. He had to do something else.
Like… Li Feng’s Antimatter Splitting Cannon…
It was a special weapon that ranked very high on Black Hair’s list of arms. It was also the only weapon that had never been enhanced at all. It wasn’t that no one tried to enhance it—it was simply that this weapon already represented the pinnacle of energy attacks and could no longer be improved. Its essence lay in extracting pure antimatter from anti-space and using it for splitting pulses attacks. And it was precisely this essence that Black Hair wanted to exploit.
After all, since he possessed a Black Hole Cannon, he knew its weakness as well.
That was the necessity of controlling the black hole. To utilize the spatial rifts created by the black hole, the attacker had to maintain control at all times. Otherwise, the infinitely splitting black holes would not only harm the enemy but also the user himself.
Black Hair intended to use the Antimatter Splitting Cannon to attack the black hole, triggering a series of disastrous chain reactions. He wanted those controlling the black hole to suffer the consequences! He believed that if the black hole truly got out of control, the person who would be most worried wouldn’t be himself—but the Emperor of Moore, who controlled it!
Facing death to find new life!
In the cabin, Black Hair stared intently at the simulation graphics on the screen, his hands firm as rock. At this moment, he couldn’t afford even the slightest mistake. A slight tremor could lead to serious problems. He waited until the trajectory representing the range perfectly aligned with the simulated black hole on the screen before finally letting out a slight sigh of relief. He glanced at his subordinates around him, giving them a look as if to say goodbye.
“I’m about to take action. Is there anything anyone wants to say?”
“Ah…” The Blood Wolf officers around him were stunned. Seeing Black Hair’s actions, even the slowest of them understood his plan. They were speechless. Those burly men stood quietly in the cabin, tears welling in their eyes.
Was this… a farewell?
Or a permanent goodbye?
“Leader!” The monkey stepped forward, his gaze firm. He placed one hand on top of the black-haired man’s right hand. “I won’t let you bear this burden alone. Brothers fight side by side; fathers and sons fight together. Count me in!”
“Leader!” Blood-Pupiled also stepped forward, mimicking the monkey’s action. “Count me in too!”
“Me too!” Baroka still smiled carefreely as he stretched out his chubby hand.
“You all…” The black-haired man’s throat tightened. He looked carefully at his subordinates who had always followed him—brothers, comrades. He felt as if his chest was filled with something, an indescribable pain. After a long while, he nodded heavily, revealing a faint smile of happiness.
Outside the Li Feng fleet’s starfield,
Suddenly, countless black lightning bolts erupted from the center of Li Feng’s two split hulls. They leaped frantically between the two hulls, forming huge black networks. In less than ten seconds, they retracted quickly and converged into a massive sphere at the center of the hulls. At the same time, the engine nozzles at the back of Li Feng were fully opened, thrusting the ship forward with great force. It instantly surpassed all the virtual puppets and reached the far end of the fleet.
Due to the black-haired man’s orders, the other virtual puppets were rapidly escaping. This move by Li Feng made it the ship closest to the black hole. A powerful gravitational force immediately attached itself to the ship, pulling Li Feng slowly forward.
By this point, almost everyone realized they no longer had any chance of escape. To prevent further damage to the fleet, someone had to make a sacrifice. Clearly, the black-haired man intended to be that person. As Li Feng neared the black hole instantly, cries filled the fleet’s common channel.
“Leader!! What are you doing?”
“Lord!!”
“Leader!”
The increasingly loud voices revealed the owners’ urgency, but they couldn’t sway the black-haired man’s decision at all. Watching Li Feng gradually approach his predicted trajectory, he finally pressed the red button in his hand.
Antimatter Splitting Cannon… fired!
“Boom!!!”
With a thunderous explosion, Li Feng shook violently. The violently shaking hull sent many unprepared soldiers tumbling around. As a result of this intense shaking, the giant lightning sphere between the two hulls suddenly contracted before exploding violently. A black beam over a thousand meters in diameter instantly pierced through the starfield ahead of the ship and plunged deep into the black hole.
Visible to the naked eye, the simulation of the black hole scanned on the screen trembled momentarily, contracting as if it were a frightened jellyfish. Everyone’s faces turned pale. The cabin fell dead silent.
Had it worked?
Time passed slowly. The result everyone was expecting never arrived. Yet another voice sounded.
“Oh, damn it! What on earth did you do!? Blackhair, are you crazy!?”
Was it Emperor Moore? Monkey and the others exchanged glances, seeing the smiles in each other’s eyes. No doubt—Blackhair must have succeeded in his adventure. Only that could have thrown Emperor Moore into such turmoil. Judging from his furious tone, the trouble seemed serious. It was just unclear what the outcome of this adventure was or whether the black hole crisis had been resolved.
At that thought, the smiles vanished from their faces.
“Blackhair, answer me!! What are you doing!?” Emperor Moore continued to shout angrily over the public channel. It was clear he was very anxious. But this time, Blackhair spoke up.
“Don’t you know what I’m doing?”
“How could I know!? Damn it! I’m not a god!” Emperor Moore’s tone was frantic, devoid of his usual composure. Hearing Blackhair’s seemingly calm voice made him even angrier.
“Blackhair, I warn you! Don’t go crazy! You’re disrupting the spatial order now. It won’t benefit either of us. If I can’t stabilize it, both of us will be pulled in!”
“Heh. Are you threatening me?” Blackhair smiled indifferently, his eyes flashing with cold light. “But don’t you think it’s a bit late? What were you doing just now? If you hadn’t attacked me suddenly, I wouldn’t have taken such actions.”
“Nonsense!” Emperor Moore finally spat out an insult, drawing everyone’s attention. “That was a trap. You walked right into it! Blackhair, listen to me—this isn’t the time to assign blame. The spatial order is becoming increasingly unstable. If we don’t calm it down right away, we’ll both die. Trust me, I won’t harm you this time. Whatever you’ve done, stop now!”
Emperor Moore’s voice grew more urgent, clearly in disarray. Given his personality, he would never say such things that showed weakness. But the more he spoke like this, the more Blackhair felt something was off. After careful consideration, he suddenly let out a cold snort.
“A delaying tactic!”
What a formidable Moor Emperor! Who would have thought that even at this moment, he still hadn’t given up on using tricks? After careful consideration, Black Hair was almost certain that his Antimatter Splitting Cannon must have caused trouble for the Moor Emperor. But whether it was as serious as he claimed was another matter. The reason this cunning guy was speaking to him in such a frantic manner was to buy time.
Realizing this, Black Hair didn’t hesitate and pressed the firing button of the Antimatter Splitting Cannon again. Glancing at the charging progress on the screen and seeing it fully charged, he pressed it immediately.
Instantly, thick black lightning, as thick as buckets, surged once again from the centers of the two split hulls at the front of the Wind of Fury. After contracting slightly, it began firing. The second shot from the Antimatter Splitting Cannon struck the distant space rift like Thor’s lightning.
At the same time, the virtual black hole on the Wind of Fury’s screen suddenly began to move violently. Countless lines writhed at high speed, as if it were a living creature. The chaotic magnetic field caused the entire Wind of Fury to shake violently. Aside from a few warriors who were prepared, everyone else was thrown hard against the walls. Groans filled the cabin instantly.
From the outside, however, the scene was different.
Just as the second shot from the Wind of Fury’s Antimatter Splitting Cannon hit the black hole, its shape ceased to be a round sphere. Instead, it stretched out violently, resembling a writhing mass of gel. It twisted wildly, and with its twisting, the surrounding gravitational field became extremely chaotic. In just a moment, it became as wild as a storm.
This put the crew of the Wind of Fury in great trouble. After all, among Black Hair’s fleet, they were the closest to the black hole and thus suffered the most from its effects. The previous impact had already been severe, and now the even more intense shaking sent everyone on the ship tumbling around like rolling gourds. They were tossed about by powerful forces, in a miserable state.
But this chaotic situation didn’t last long. Soon, the chaotic magnetic field gathered together, forming a force even greater than the black hole’s gravity before, pulling the Wind of Fury toward the center of the black hole.
Black Hair and the others felt a sudden darkness before their eyes as they entered the black hole…
