Chapter 57: The Land of Endings, Section 7

Shakes, chaos, turmoil. Endless darkness.
Is this what it’s like inside a black hole?
Piercing alarm sounds jolted Hei Fa out of his coma. He shook his head and climbed up from the captain’s seat. Severe dizziness still surged through his mind like waves, but he breathed a sigh of relief.
I’m not dead.
I still live.
Struggling to stand steady, Hei Fa glanced around. In the small cabin, Blood Wolf warriors lay scattered everywhere, all with their eyes closed and expressions of pain on their faces. But upon closer inspection, their chests were still rising and falling.
Haven’t we all been erased by the black hole?
A wave of doubt arose in his heart. Yet Hei Fa stopped pondering it. Instead of rescuing his subordinates first, he activated the controls on the captain’s seat armrest. Immediately, a screen appeared before him, filled with data flowing like a waterfall—most of it in glaring red.
Energy reserve… 12%.
Shield… collapsed.
External hull armor… 45% damaged.
Internal hull armor… 12% damaged.
Weapon systems… only 23% still functional.
Energy regeneration… power reduced by 70%.
After just a quick glance, Hei Fa couldn’t help but let out a low groan. Was this still his own Li Feng? It was hard to believe that in just an instant, this heavy assault ship that had accompanied him through his early days had fallen to such a state. Looking at the damage report, he doubted how much longer it could hold on.
But fortunately, it could still fly and hadn’t crashed yet. This gave Hei Fa some breathing room. Without hesitation, he allocated all the ship’s resources to self-repair mode, then began rescuing his subordinates.
Li Feng was a heavy assault ship with a crew of 1,300 people. It was impossible for Hei Fa to rescue them all by himself. Thankfully, Li Feng had its own robot crew. As long as commands were given, these mechanical beings could handle everything. Hei Fa just had to wait.
Taking this time to observe the surroundings, Hei Fa realized this place wasn’t the anti-space he had imagined—it was some indescribable place that didn’t exist in any records. The starry sky outside the windows was pitch black; even the ship’s lights couldn’t penetrate it. Hei Fa felt as if he had entered a massive mass of ink. After a brief observation, he began analyzing this space.

The result shocked him greatly. This space was filled with positive energy! It was no different from the normal universe! What a joke? Hei Fa was utterly confused. This result was simply unbelievable. If it was no different from normal space, then why was the outside environment so strange? And more importantly, this was right behind a black hole. If it was no different from normal space, did that mean the creatures that had been sucked into black holes before were still alive? It was a mystery, and Hei Fa couldn’t determine the outcome. So he was in a dilemma—hoping this space was safe so he could find a way to escape, yet also hoping it was dangerous so he wouldn’t encounter his old enemies. After all, it wasn’t the Emperor Moore who first used the black hole cannon; it was him, the Blood Wolf Lord. If anyone had to be held accountable, Hei Fa definitely couldn’t escape blame. Of course, this was from a causal perspective. At this moment, it had little impact on Hei Fa. While he was thinking, the Blood Wolf warriors on the Li Feng also woke up one by one. Like Hei Fa, they all showed expressions of disbelief upon realizing they were still alive. But once they understood their surroundings, they quickly got back to business, rushing to their posts. In less than half an hour, Li Feng had regained its normal sailing formation, and the self-repair work was largely completed. Although the armor and weapon systems were still weak, the power system had returned to a basic state. Under the strange gazes of Blood Pupil and the others, Hei Fa ordered the warship to set sail. “Boom!” The hull of Li Feng trembled violently, shocking everyone once again. Because as Li Feng moved, their external environment changed… The space, which had been pitch black moments ago, instantly became colorful, filled with strikingly bright halos—absolutely breathtaking. And this change didn’t happen just once. As Li Feng moved, more and more changes occurred. Normal starfields, deep ocean floors, skies within the atmosphere, and even vast plains—every time they moved a distance, it was as if they entered a new world. Sometimes, the bow of the ship was still on the ocean floor while the stern remained in space. “Wow!” At this sight, all the crew members let out an astonished cry.

These crew members were all experienced veterans who had unknownly spent countless years sailing through the universe. They had never seen such bizarre sights before. Their current journey felt as though they were traversing through time and space. One after another, strange and similar spaces appeared before them, pushing the limits of human imagination. Just like the underwater area they passed through earlier—there was even a giant whale swimming around them. When it saw the even larger Leifeng, it fled in terror. Before anyone could laugh, they found themselves atop vast mountains again. Leifeng’s rigid hull scraped against the peaks, knocking over one after another. The crew’s laughter instantly turned into screams.

“What… where on earth is this?”

For a moment, everyone was stunned by the changes before them, standing there in stunned silence, mouths agape like fish out of water. Even the usually calm Black Hair was stunned, looking at the rapidly changing scenery and exchanging glances with Monkey and the others.

“Can this… be explained?”

Monkey and the others shook their heads. Baroka was completely dumbfounded.

“From a magical technology perspective, we can’t understand this phenomenon. But…” Blood Pupil reacted quickly. Hearing Black Hair speak, he thought for a moment before answering, “Maybe it’s an illusion?”

“Boom!!” Black Hair pressed the firing button, and one of the peaks was instantly blown away by the auxiliary cannon on Leifeng. Then he turned to look at Blood Pupil. “Is it still an illusion?”

“Mm…” Blood Pupil was speechless.

Just then, Monkey finally recovered from his shock. After frowning and thinking for a while, he suddenly exclaimed, “Ah! I think I have a clue!”

“Oh?” Black Hair was surprised and looked at Monkey encouragingly. “Go on, tell me.”

“I remember, a very long time ago, in some book I read somewhere, there was a hypothesis mentioned.” Encouraged by Black Hair, Monkey steadied himself and began to explain. “The hypothesis states that in this world, there aren’t just positive and negative spaces—there are also many parallel universes and dimensions. These dimensions are separated by insurmountable barriers but are connected to each other. If someone can find the points of connection between them, they can access these dimensions simultaneously from one place and leave traces.”

“Ah, there’s such a thing?” Blood Pupil was taken aback and somewhat skeptical. In his memory, he didn’t recall ever hearing of this hypothesis. And if it really existed, it shouldn’t have gone unnoticed.

Of course he didn’t know—neither the monkey nor the black-haired man were from this world. So many experiences that the black-haired man and the monkey had gone through were things he could never even dream of experiencing. Earth was a place where imagination was extremely explosive; human imagination there surpassed everything, and any theory could arise, including the multiverse overlap hypothesis mentioned by the monkey.

However, this concept mostly appeared in religions and theology, described as… the Land of End.

Silence fell over the cabin. Everyone who heard the monkey’s description was stunned. But upon reflection, this hypothesis wasn’t entirely unfounded. Just like the well-known concept of switching between parallel spaces—if there was a place where fragments of both spaces could coexist, then it would be possible for a person to appear in both at the same time.

“The Land of End?” In the absolute silence, the black-haired man frowned and repeated it in a almost dreamy tone.

As someone from the same world as the monkey, he had certainly heard of this hypothesis too, but had always regarded it as a joke. After all, human imagination is infinite—anything could happen. The black-haired man had never intended to take such a hypothesis seriously.

But now, he had actually encountered such a place. He couldn’t help but believe it.

Traveling between multiple dimensions while staying in several of them at once—such an experience was truly astonishing. But the problem was, how could he leave this place? No matter how wonderful it was, the black-haired man had no intention of staying here forever, as that would be no different from death. Now he finally understood where those who were sucked into black holes went. Likely, even if they didn’t die during the process, they would be lost forever in this endless world.

Unfortunately, this question had no answer. A hypothesis remained just that because it was irresponsible. So now, the only thing the black-haired man could rely on was himself.

“Let’s keep moving forward.” As if all his strength had been drained, he waved his hand weakly.

“Here, teleportation no longer works, because there are fragments of space everywhere—there’s no distinction between reverse space and normal space. We can only move forward. Well, at least for now, I’m glad to see that Li Feng hasn’t lost his motivation. That’s probably the only good news.”

“Indeed,” the monkey and the others nodded in agreement, their faces serious.

The Land of End… did that name represent an end?
