Chapter 56: Destiny, Section 10
Two thousand Snake Teeth, each over a kilometer in height. Their massive bodies connected together stretched for thousands of miles. Their smooth exteriors glowed under the starlight, emitting a cold hue. Upon appearing, they covered the entire starfield. As the engine nozzles behind them opened one after another, countless blue-white streams of energy burst forth, forming a vast energy band as wide as a river in space.
The speed resulting from such terrifying power was astonishing. Almost the moment the blue-white light spread out, all the Snake Teeth seemed to be pushed forward, rushing out abruptly. Their droplet-shaped bodies traced perfect arcs across the starfield, like a giant swarm of bees. Compared to their terrifying speed, the Milky Way ahead appeared rather calm. Even after the Black Hair used his energy spear to break through the pressure of this starfield, there was not the slightest reaction from the Milky Way. All the stars continued to move slowly, as if nothing had changed.
Yet everyone knew this was merely calm before the storm. After witnessing the Monkey being attacked by that giant crystal star, the Blood Wolf warriors fully realized just how terrifying the enemy they faced was. That enormous, diamond-like star defied any human comprehension. Their mission ahead was fraught with danger.
But no one backed down. The reputation of the Blood Wolf warriors was built through countless battles. The more critical the situation, the stronger their fighting spirit became. As the distant Milky Way drew closer at high speed, the Snake Teeth ahead suddenly moved. Amid mechanical noises, limbs slowly extended from their droplet-shaped bodies, completing the transformation into a combat stance. Then, they gradually disappeared amidst a surge of white light from head to toe.
Anti-space tactical teleportation!!
This was the combat tactic that gave the Blood Wolf mechs their fame. It was just the first time it was used by the massive Snake Teeth. And due to the uniqueness of this space, the Snake Teeth needed sufficient acceleration and buildup to employ this move. At that moment, it appeared utterly stunning.
Just as the snakes in the front row entered tactical teleportation, those in the back also assumed combat stances simultaneously. However, the weapons in their extended limbs were no longer massive combat swords, but rather thick, bucket-shaped objects. As the snakes in the back moved at high speed, they slung these bucket-shaped objects onto their shoulders. The view quickly zoomed in, revealing several mechanical claws emerging from within the buckets and firmly attaching to the snakes’ bodies. At the same time, the hatch at the front of the object suddenly flipped open, exposing a dense array of gun barrels beneath.
It was… thirty-six-channel, four-path pulse energy cannons!!
Xue Tong and Baroka and the others behind them widened their eyes in anticipation, waiting for the moment of attack.
Although this weapon was designed as standard equipment for the snakes, it was actually being used for the first time. It wasn’t because of its insufficient power, but rather because in past battles, the snakes’ close-quarters combat skills were so formidable that such long-range weapons were unnecessary against warships.
But now it was different. The massive Crystal Planet alone had a diameter of hundreds of millions of kilometers. Such a huge scale could not be effectively dealt with by combat weapons. To destroy a planet, the best weapons were always ship cannons or even more powerful long-range firepower.
Unfortunately, even such long-range weapons were designed with a range of only nine million kilometers. To attack the giant Crystal Planet at the center of the galaxy, the snakes still needed to perform another anti-space tactical teleportation. So, despite Xue Tong and Baroka’s eagerness, they could only helplessly watch as the snakes disappeared one by one into the universe.
In front of the black-haired fleet, an empty space immediately appeared. The once overwhelming swarm of steel humanoid figures vanished without a trace. From the warships, people could even see the galaxy with the naked eye. The atmosphere in the cabins was tense. Everyone stared intently ahead, holding their breath, waiting for that moment to arrive.
At that exact moment, the giant Crystal Planet seemed to realize its crisis was approaching and began to move slowly. Through data collection, people could clearly see its rotation accelerating.
“Look! What’s that!?” A Blood Wolf warrior, with sharp eyes, suddenly shouted. Startled, everyone hurriedly looked over and saw a small black dot appearing beside the giant Crystal Planet—something that hadn’t been there just a moment ago. It was likely brought into view by the planet’s rotation from behind.
The holographic system was activated to its fullest capacity immediately, pulling that black dot close before everyone’s eyes.
“This is…” Everyone gasped in shock.
It was… a gigantic, almost unbelievable mech!!
It stood hundreds of kilometers tall—already exceeding the record for the largest mechs humans had ever built. With six arms and eight legs, it appeared even more monstrous. A long mechanical tail curled upward behind it. From its appearance, it resembled a scorpion with a human upper body!!
“The Guardian!!” In Li Feng’s cabin, Hei Fa and Monkey recognized this massive machine at once.
Yes, it was indeed the Guardian—identical to the huge skeleton Hei Fa had seen in the warehouse of the Flying Castle. This mech shared the same features, only larger and more terrifying. That’s why Hei Fa and Monkey easily recognized this horrifying machine.
Yet they never expected such a machine to actually exist in reality.
What the hell?
Hei Fa and Monkey exchanged glances, both seeing the astonishment in each other’s eyes.
Although they had been prepared when they first saw that huge skeleton, witnessing such a massive humanoid creature was still incredibly shocking. Hundreds of kilometers tall—just that alone far exceeded their imagination. They remembered the skeleton being only nearly ten kilometers long back then. They never imagined the real thing would be so much larger.
Could this be Emperor Moore’s latest masterpiece, a product of mastering human mech technology?
Hei Fa and Monkey both understood how terrifying this was. But before they could issue a warning, the first wave of Snake Teeth, leading the charge, already engaged this enormous, terrifying mech. In the vast starry sky, that massive mech rushed out of the galaxy in an instant. It pulled out a huge, narrow double-handed axe from behind and swung it through space without hesitation. A dazzling flash of lightning streaked across the stars, blinding everyone. After the lightning, several huge figures suddenly appeared in what was once an empty sky, as if deliberately throwing themselves into the giant axe of the scorpion-like giant…
“That’s… spatial splitting!!!” In Li Feng’s cabin, everyone who saw this scene cried out in shock. Seeing it pull Snake Teeth, which had already entered reverse space, back out was beyond anyone’s belief.
Unfortunately, facts are facts and won’t change just because people are shocked. As everyone gasped in shock, those Snake Teeth vessels collided violently with the giant axe of the Scorpion Giant. The technicians aboard those Snake Teeth vessels hadn’t even woken up from their temporary hibernation, or perhaps they never expected anyone to have such capabilities. In a loud explosion, they turned to fragments.
There was no sound, no dazzling light. Several lives vanished silently, without even a hint of brightness throughout the whole process. All that remained were a few flames. Those massive Snake Teeth vessels, when exploded, were no different from ordinary small warships—so ordinary that they hardly inspired even a glance.
Yet the people on the warships behind them paled. Looking at that enormous Scorpion Giant, fear appeared in many eyes.
It was unbelievable—piercing through space to drag enemies out of the anti-space realm. Was this still reality? If they hadn’t witnessed the Scorpion Giant’s actions with their own eyes, they would have thought they were dreaming! A nightmare of extreme horror!!
In their past combat experiences, enemies capable of directly attacking anti-space had never existed before. This wasn’t a matter of experience or skill—it was a complete technological gap!! An absolutely insurmountable disadvantage!! In anti-space, even the most skilled technicians had to enter temporary hibernation in a short time. In that state, they couldn’t fight, let alone dodge. If enemies could truly attack anti-space at will, then all those Snake Teeth vessels would be nothing but targets!!
What a terrifying guardian!!
In Li Feng’s cabin, everyone’s face was as pale as paper, with heavy breathing clearly audible. As time rushed by, everyone hoped the warriors ahead would quickly take up combat positions. Every extra minute could mean even greater sacrifices.
But unfortunately, reality was cruel—the more something was desired, the harder it was to achieve. Only five minutes had passed since the battle began. Such a short time was far too insufficient for the Snake Teeth vessels to complete their journey. So all that could be seen was the helpless killing.
In the blink of an eye, the Scorpion Giant swung his axe five more times. After five flashes of lightning, nearly a hundred Snake Teeth vessels were ripped out of anti-space. With each swing of his giant axe, they turned into fireballs exploding in the sky.
The number of Blood Wolf warriors who sacrificed themselves had already reached an astonishing over a hundred from the very beginning…
