Chapter 57: The Land of Endings, Section 1
“Boss! This can’t go on!!”
In Li Feng’s cabin, Xue Tong and the others had bloodshot eyes, shouting hoarsely. Just a few minutes earlier, nearly a hundred elite Blood Wolf warriors had lost their lives right before their eyes. These men could take it no longer.
After all, those Blood Wolf warriors were comrades who had trained and fought alongside them. Those fierce battles, those nights spent fighting until exhaustion—every face of a Blood Wolf warrior flashed before their eyes. An indescribable feeling filled their chests, so unbearable that Xue Tong and Baroka almost vomited blood.
Similarly, on the Black-Haired Fleet, every Blood Wolf warrior was equally enraged, watching their comrades die mysteriously during the anti-space journey. These brave men could no longer contain their anger and unanimously requested to attack Black-Haired.
But this time, Black-Haired disappointed them.
On the captain’s seat, Black-Haired’s lips trembled slightly, yet he still issued an order that stunned everyone.
“The request is denied. Continue as planned.”
“What! Boss, are you insane!?” Xue Tong and Baroka were shocked, unable to believe such words could come from Black-Haired.
“That Guardian can directly attack in anti-space! Boss, if this continues, our brothers will be slaughtered! To be killed without even a chance to fight back—that’s not the fate of a warrior!!”
“Yes, boss. Please, let us go out now. Even if we can’t defeat that giant, just fighting for a while might give our comrades a chance to survive the anti-space journey.”
Looking at Black-Haired, whose face showed pain on the captain’s seat, Xue Tong and Baroka pleaded urgently. Though they knew that even if they attacked, the remaining number of Virtual Puppets’ Snake Teeth wouldn’t pose a threat to that massive humanoid, it was still better than watching their comrades get slaughtered easily. As Xue Tong said, to die without even a chance to fight in anti-space was not the fate of a warrior. Even if dying, it should be in battle against the enemy!!
Unfortunately, they were just warriors, not commanders, so they would never know what Black-Haired was thinking.
That giant guardian needs at least 25 seconds per attack, right? It may seem fast, but it’s actually in line with its size. The “Emperor of Moors” is clearly not yet mature enough to achieve the same level of agility as Snake Fang. If not for Snake Fang being in reverse space, it probably wouldn’t be able to gain such an easy advantage.
Silence reigned as Black Hair thought rapidly.
25 seconds—just the time for an attack. If intervals are included, it’s about two minutes. Given the fleet’s current position, it would take enough time for the remaining Snake Fangs to reach him for him to launch five more attacks. Five attacks, each with the same strength as before, would mean another hundred warriors lost.
No, the Blood Wolf warriors’ lives must not be wasted in such trivial battles. The Snake Fangs ahead have more important tasks to carry out. And since they’re in reverse space, it’s impossible for them to return immediately. So, there’s only one option left.
At this thought, Black Hair’s eyes suddenly opened, emitting a cold glint.
“Send orders to the fleet: disperse at full speed. Prepare the Black Hole Cannons of Thor’s Fortress at the fastest pace—within one minute. I want to see them fired!!”
“What!?”
“Okay!!!”
Blood Pupil and Baroka reacted very differently—one in surprise, the other in ecstasy. While they were still stunned, the monkey beside them had already silently rushed forward to deliver the orders to every ship in the fleet.
Among those present, perhaps only he truly understood Black Hair’s tactics. So, though he wasn’t as excited as Blood Pupil and Baroka, he was always prepared. The moment Black Hair made a decision, he would execute it immediately.
Because the monkey trusted Black Hair. He had absolute faith in him. Unlike subordinates like Blood Pupil and Baroka, the monkey was the only one in this world who trusted Black Hair unconditionally. No matter what happened, his belief could not be shaken.
And that’s why the Black Hair fleet reacted faster than he had expected—much faster.
The black hole cannon, which would normally take fifteen minutes to prepare at best, actually entered its attack mode in less than thirty-five seconds. On the Thor Fortress, an entire section of its armor collapsed inward, revealing a huge triangular tower—the “cannon barrel” fired by the black hole cannon. In front of the fortress, the virtual puppets that had previously blocked everything were also rapidly moving aside to clear a firing path. Everything unfolded in an orderly manner, as if they had been prepared for launch even before this battle began.
And in fact, that was pretty much the case. As the most powerful strategic weapon of the Black Hair faction, the deployment speed of the Thor Fortress’ black hole cannon was of utmost importance. Thus, long before the battle, the soldiers stationed at the fortress had trained tirelessly. Although they weren’t the most skilled mech technicians of the Blood Wolves, their training intensity was no less than that of any Blood Wolf warrior.
Today, their hard work finally paid off. The black hole cannon entered its attack mode in thirty-five seconds. Seeing the faint black light flickering beneath the black triangular tower, the Black Hair faction knew that in the next moment, that massive guardian would no longer pose a threat to them.
In this universe, no one or no weapon could withstand the attack of a black hole cannon that ignored all defenses!!!
“Fire!!!”
At that command, silent black lightning appeared before everyone’s eyes. Above the triangular tower of the Thor Fortress, it jumped and gathered, forming a sphere entirely composed of black lightning in just an instant. Then it pierced through the anti-space in front of the black hole cannon and vanished without a trace.
Haha, it’s finally starting.
Inside the cabin, everyone became excited, leaning close to the screens, watching nervously as they waited for the moment when the black hole cannon would take effect.
Similar to the guardian of Emperor Moore, the attack of the black hole cannon also crossed spatial barriers—but it launched its attack from anti-space, completely opposite to how the guardian operated. It was precisely this characteristic that made it even more difficult to defend against, because unless one could see the black hole cannon firing and react accordingly, no one would know they were under attack!!! In normal space, the black hole cannon was silent and intangible!!!
It sounds complicated, but it actually happens in an instant. Just two minutes passed since Bloodpupil and the others urgently requested an attack, and the giant guardian had barely swung its axe when the Black Hole Cannon descended upon it. Before their eyes, a tiny black dot suddenly appeared at the waist of that giant humanoid figure against the brilliant galaxy. The dot was so small yet so clear, as if painted there. Before the giant humanoid could realize what was happening, it began to expand rapidly, engulfing an area of tens of thousands of kilometers in just an instant! Everything was covered in thick darkness in that split second.
“Amazing!!” Cheers erupted in Li Feng’s cabin, with smiles on everyone’s faces.
Of course, they couldn’t see what happened to the guardian at that moment. Although the Black Hole Cannon created a virtual black hole, it still possessed the terrifying effects of a real one. Its immense gravitational pull was so strong that not even light could escape. Thus, it was impossible for the naked eye to observe what was inside the black hole. Yet even so, it didn’t stop people from using instruments to “see” the formation process of the black hole. As they watched the rapidly expanding sphere, everyone knew the guardian was doomed.
No matter how huge it was or how strong its armor, it couldn’t escape the collapse of space. It wasn’t a real attack, yet it was the most terrifying force in the universe—a force that pierced through all layers of space and dragged enemies straight into hell.
With the disappearance of the giant guardian, the Snake Fangs, who were still charging at high speed through anti-space, were likely approaching that giant crystal planet soon. It was believed that in the next moment, they would once again witness the Snake Fangs in action.
But no one expected that the outcome would not be as imagined.
The expanding black hole appeared so suddenly, and it vanished even more mysteriously. In just a few seconds, before even the cheers of the Blood Wolf warriors could end, the collapsed space suddenly began to contract. The endless darkness instantly reverted to its original starry appearance, eventually condensing into a tiny black ball that disappeared with a “pop” in the palm of the giant humanoid figure before the galaxy.
On the battlefield, the Black Hair Fleet was once again facing the giant guardian head-on.
“How is this possible!?”
Seeing this incredible scene, everyone exclaimed in shock.
Had the Black Hole Cannon… failed?
No, that’s absolutely impossible! It can’t be true! Ah, it’s an illusion, just an illusion!!
People rubbed their eyes in confusion, seemingly wanting to confirm once again. Unfortunately, through the screen, they could clearly see that the giant serpent-like monster still stood intact in mid-air, while the black hole that should have swallowed it was nowhere to be seen.
The Black Hole Cannon had actually failed for the first time since the Blood Wolf turned it into a strategic weapon…
