Chapter 0096: Overestimating Oneself
Pat was about to step forward when suddenly he heard a thunderous roar. Immediately afterward, a powerful force struck him, forcing him to use his agility to retreat in panic. Looking up, he saw a mountain-sized ox-like creature standing before him.
“A Sacred Realm Dark Magical Beast, the Sky Blue Python Ox!” Pat exclaimed in shock.
After the initial shock, Pat felt delighted. A smile appeared on his gaunt face. “Heh heh, I never expected to find such a treasure here. It’s actually a Sacred Realm Dark Magical Beast—a super divine beast, the Sky Blue Python Ox! Killing this kid, along with these twelve high-level intermediate undead creatures and one more Sacred Realm Dark Magical Beast, the Sky Blue Python Ox—this trip was worth it.”
Killing the Yellow Dragon and then turning this Sky Blue Python Ox into an undead creature filled Pat with excitement as he thought about it further.
He realized that this Sky Blue Python Ox only had the strength of the early stage of the Sacred Realm, posing no threat to him at all. As for that kid, he must also be at the early stage of the Sacred Realm. On the Hengyuan Continent, the stronger a necromancer was, the higher the rank of the undead creatures they could summon. Since these twelve undead creatures were only at the early stage of the Sacred Realm, Pat simply classified the Yellow Dragon, whose true strength was unclear, as being at the same level.
After attacking, the Sky Blue Python Ox did not pursue but stayed by the Yellow Dragon’s side. It could see that the opponent was much stronger, so it didn’t dare to act rashly.
“Kid, no wonder you’re so arrogant. You dare come to my territory to steal undead creatures.” Pat sneered at the Yellow Dragon, who was sitting cross-legged. “I’ll show you the consequences of being arrogant right now.” With that, Pat clenched his hands and recited rapid spells. The sky trembled violently, and then an undead green-haired monster and an undead holy knight emerged from a rift in the sky.
The undead green-haired monster was three or four meters tall, entirely black and green. From its sinister, sharp mouth, dark green liquid dripped continuously, filling the surrounding area with a foul smell that was nauseating.
As for the undead holy knight, it was essentially just a skeleton on a undead unicorn warhorse, with green light glowing from its eyes.
Both of these undead creatures possessed the strength of the advanced stage of the Sacred Realm.
This was the terrifying aspect of necromancers—provided they had enough mental power, they could summon an entire army of undead creatures from the realm of the dead.
“Go ahead and kill this kid!” After summoning the two undead creatures, Pat waved his hand, pointing at the Yellow Dragon.
Roar! Instantly, the undead green-haired monster and the undead holy knight let out terrifying screams before charging at the Yellow Dragon at incredible speed. A flash of black and green light appeared as they rushed forward.
Seeing this, the Sky Blue Python Ox let out a roar, its entire body radiating an ox-like aura, its eyes glowing ferociously. Suddenly, a storm formed around its massive body as it swept forward, targeting the undead green-haired monster and the undead holy knight. Within the storm, clouds seemed to be gathering.
This was the Sky Blue Python Ox’s wind-based skill, “Stormy Cloud Roll.”
After the storm passed, it dragged the air currents in front of it, tearing and howling through them. The undead green-haired monster and the undead holy knight roared as they charged forward. The green-haired monster emitted a burst of green light and rushed straight at them, while the undead holy knight raised his holy sword and thrust it forward. A wave of black-green sword energy created a gust of wind that collided with the Sky Blue Python Ox’s storm.
The storm tore at the green light on the green-haired monster’s body, but to the Sky Blue Python Ox’s surprise, the green light resembled a quagmire—the storm couldn’t tear through it, only causing violent tremors. Meanwhile, the sword wind from the undead holy knight collided with the storm, resulting in a fierce impact. Continuous popping and hissing sounds were heard, along with spatial vibrations.
A terrifying shockwave spread outward, even reaching the battlefield below. Many warriors from the two kingdoms fighting below noticed the strange phenomenon in the sky. Mid-battle, they glanced up and were stunned. Some stopped moving, resulting in their deaths at the hands of their opponents.
“Sacred domain monsters!”
“Heavens, what kind of monster is that?”
As more and more people below noticed the sky’s anomaly, they pointed at the Sky Blue Python Ox, the undead green-haired monster, and the undead holy knight, exclaiming in shock.
The screams of the warriors below did not affect the intense battle above.
The Yellow Dragon was aware of Pat’s arrival. However, at this critical moment when it was refining the Twelve Heavenly Dark King Flags, with the Sky Blue Python Ox present as well, it chose not to move. Instead, it focused even more on channeling its inner energy into the flags, allowing the Twelve Ancestral Witches to absorb it. Waves of dark evil energy surged toward their mouths like waves.
Originally, the two fire dragons beneath the Fire Ancestor Witch Zhu Rong were still illusions, but now they were gradually taking shape, emitting an aura of primordial ferocity. Similarly, the two black dragons beneath the Water Ancestor Witch Gonggong had shimmering black scales, and the same was true for the other ancestors.
Pat, watching from the side, was shocked and sensed a sense of danger. What kind of undead creature was this? And its mount was a dragon? Could it not be an undead creature? But if not, then how could it strengthen itself by absorbing the undead on the battlefield?
At that moment, the undead green-haired monster and the undead holy knight had broken through the Azure Python Ox’s storm and launched an attack. The Azure Python Ox retracted its body sharply, shrinking in size by a circle, while a golden glow emerged from its body. Then, its eyes emitted two beams of dark magic at the two undead creatures.
The beams of dark magic, like lasers, struck instantly, piercing through the chests of the undead green-haired monster and the undead holy knight. Green light flashed as black smoke billowed out. The undead green-haired monster and the undead holy knight let out agonized screams, but their ferocity only increased. With a roar, they charged even more violently. The Azure Python Ox was caught off guard; it managed to dodge the holy knight’s sword strike but was hit by the green-haired monster’s palm.
With a dull thud, the Azure Python Ox was forced to retreat violently, feeling as though all its bones had been shattered. Fortunately, it had shrunk in size earlier and activated its innate skill “Copper Skin and Iron Bones.” Otherwise, that strike would have inflicted severe injuries on it. Even so, it was secretly shocked by the strength of these two undead creatures.
Seeing this, Pat laughed mockingly, “Hehe, overestimating yourselves! Do you think your attacks can harm my undead pets?”
The Azure Python Ox watched as the wounds inflicted by its own attacks on the two undead creatures were covered by a green glow, then healed immediately. “These two of my undead pets have been at the advanced stage of the Sacred Realm evolution for over two hundred years—they’re almost immortal. Hehe, if you want to harm them, you’ll need to possess the strength of the peak of the Sacred Realm,” Pat said mockingly at the Azure Python Ox. “Now, I’ll kill your master first, then deal with you slowly!” Pat ordered the undead green-haired monster and the undead holy knight to launch another attack on the Yellow Dragon. Just then, the Yellow Dragon opened its eyes. Pat felt a flash of light, and the surrounding space seemed as bright as the stars.
The Yellow Dragon stood up and said slowly, “Is that so?”
