Chapter 0395: Arrival at the Land of Forgetfulness
The Land of Forgetfulness, though located in the Netherworld, lies on a piece of land called the Corner of Forgetfulness at the far north of the Unda Continent, near the Nether Sea. The Unda Continent is separated from the Nyaa Continent, where the Luning Headquarters is located, by the Valar Continent. Therefore, if the Yellow Dragon group wanted to reach the Land of Forgetfulness, they had to cross the Valar Continent first to get to the Unda Continent.
Thus, although there was still some time before the Land of Forgetfulness opened, the Luning family had to set off early.
The days spent riding high-class flying artifacts were dull. However, along the way, Fat Francis’s jokes kept things from being too boring.
Uninterrupted by any incidents, the Yellow Dragon group finally arrived at the Unda Continent and then rushed toward the Corner of Forgetfulness.
This so-called “Corner of Forgetfulness” wasn’t really a land at all—it was just a relatively large island, covering tens of trillions of square miles. The island had a triangular shape and was located in a remote area, perpetually shrouded in a faint red mist. That’s why the Netherworld called it the Corner of Forgetfulness.
“We’re almost at the Corner of Forgetfulness,” Fat Francis suddenly sighed as they neared it. His gaze then shifted to a young man and woman not far away. “I’ll also become someone who’s forgotten.”
Yellow Dragon and Chester glanced over. Those young man and woman were none other than Hairel and Spindu.
Yellow Dragon and Chester exchanged a look and both shook their heads.
Fat Francis loved to laugh, but every time he saw Hairel and Spindu together, he would sigh, feeling as if he lacked the chance to be with her.
“Fat guy, stop sighing. Think instead about how to compete for those 300 spots when we get there. I remember you swore to your grandfather that you could get one of those spots when you came here,” Chester said.
Although Fat Francis was strong, there were many stronger competitors. He was able to participate only because he asked his grandfather, Barret, for a spot and swore in front of him that he would secure it.
Hearing Chester bring this up, Fat Francis grew even more depressed.
Originally, after learning that Hairel would also be competing for those 300 spots in the Land of Forgetfulness, he asked his grandfather for a spot, hoping to get more chances to see her along the way. But the more he saw her, the sadder he became.
Because every time Hairel appeared, handsome Spindu was always by her side.
Fat Francis remained silent, sitting there in gloom.
“Fat guy, have you finished refining the Seven-Heart Pill?” Chester asked as Fat Francis sat down.
“I’ve refined it,” Fat Francis mumbled, looking listless.
“What happened? Didn’t you give it to Hayer?” Huang Long asked.
“I did, but… I even didn’t get to see her face. She had her maid convey her thanks to me,” Fat Francis said in a dull voice.
Chester shook his head.
“Alright, everyone, get ready. The Land of Forgetfulness is almost here.” At that moment, a senior steward from the Runing family stepped forward and spoke to the young members.
All of them stood up and looked outside the flying artifact, spotting a triangular island in the distance.
After a while, they arrived at the triangular island and disembarked from the flying artifact. At first glance, they saw a sea of people all around.
Although only the descendants of the six major Runing families could enter the Land of Forgetfulness, it didn’t stop other godly powerhouses from coming. The six major Runing families also had no right to stop them.
Of course, most of these godly powerhouses came to “see” the strength of the descendants of the six major families in the underworld as they competed for the 300 spots in the Land of Forgetfulness.
“Wow, so many people!” Fat Francis exclaimed, looking at the crowded crowd around him. His earlier listlessness seemed to have vanished completely.
The arrival of the first family, the Runing family, immediately caught the attention of all the godly powerhouses, who stared at them with reverence.
“Is that… Clan Head Runing, the Supreme God Kennedy?” One of the supreme gods asked his companion, eyes filled with surprise.
An other supreme god replied with awe, admiration, and excitement, “Yes, that’s Lord Kennedy!”
Kennedy was a supreme god of the water element at the highest level!
As Kennedy led the Runing family’s descendants to the center of the island, the godly powerhouses watched with reverence, admiration, and discussion.
However, it took over ten days for Kennedy to reach the island’s center, accompanied by 100,000 descendants, across the trillion-mile expanse of the island.
The center of the island was surrounded by mountains, with palace complexes built atop these mountains—these complexes were naturally established by the six major families of the underworld and some other powerful families.
In the space between the surrounding mountains lay a flat area spanning millions of miles—a competition arena, to be precise.
There, 6,000 descendants from the six major families of the underworld would fight fiercely across this vast arena.
The entire arena was divided into 100 zones.
After Kennedy brought Huang Long and the other young disciples to the center of the island, they landed atop a mountain thousands of meters high, covering an area of tens of thousands of square kilometers, with palaces scattered throughout. When Kennedy and his group arrived, the person in charge of the Lu Ning family, who had already been guarding the place, came to greet them respectfully. “We greet the clan leader and all the elders!” Dozens of administrators dressed in Lu Ning family attire bowed respectfully. Kennedy and the others nodded. “Connerly, how is everything arranged?” Kennedy asked a middle-aged man in the front among the administrators. Hearing Kennedy’s question, the middle-aged man quickly stepped forward and said respectfully, “Reporting to the clan leader, everything is ready.” Kennedy nodded, then flew with Bishop and the others toward the summit of the mountain. The middle-aged man hurried after them, while Huang Long and the other disciples followed behind the administrators. After a while, they reached the summit, where a large square came into view, with a cluster of palaces standing behind it. “Have someone take them down first,” Kennedy said to the middle-aged man, Connerly, after arriving at the summit. The middle-aged man replied respectfully and ordered one of his subordinates to take Huang Long and the other disciples to their respective palaces to wait for the competition. There were still two months left before the competition. Meanwhile, Kennedy, Bishop, and over a dozen elders headed straight for the central palace. “Has Beikal, Terrence, and their people arrived?” Kennedy asked as they walked. “Reporting to the clan leader, aside from the Beikal family, members of the other four major families have arrived,” Connerly replied quickly. Kennedy nodded and said, “Since the Last Land of Forgetting was opened last time, it’s been sixty trillion years since I’ve seen that old fellow Woodlow. I heard his son, Saxton, is also competing this time. He’s quite strong and wants to win first place.” The second elder, Boris, laughed and said, “Which family’s disciple doesn’t want to be first? But only one person can take first place. I think it will be our Lu Ning family again.” Although this competition in the Land of Forgetting was meant to compete for the 300 spots to enter the Land of Forgetting, it could also be seen as a “contest” among the six major families of the Netherworld. The third elder, Barret, laughed and said, “I think first, second, and third place will all go to our Lu Ning family. I have confidence in Fedor, Harris, and Spindu.”
Upon hearing Barret’s words, Bishop smiled and said, “Elder Barret, you have high expectations. Though that kid Fei is quite skilled, making it into the top three might be a bit difficult.” Although Bishop spoke humbly, it was obvious to everyone that he was proud inside.
Donald, standing by, couldn’t help but feel disdain. Bishop might speak nicely on the surface, but he probably already believed his grandson would win first place.
Kennedy and the others arrived at the central palace and began discussing matters related to this Land of Forgetfulness.
After Yellow Dragon was taken to his own palace, Chester and Fat Francis came over. Their palaces were located right next to Yellow Dragon’s.
“Brother Huang Hai, there are still two months before the competition. Since we have nothing to do, let’s go out and take a walk,” Fat Francis said upon arriving.
“Go out for a walk?” Yellow Dragon glanced at Fat Francis and Chester.
Chester said to Yellow Dragon with a helpless expression, “It was Fat Francis who forced me to come.”
“Don’t look at me like that. Anyway, it’s impossible for us to secure those three hundred spots. Since we’re here, let’s just explore and take in the scenery of this Land of Forgetfulness,” Fat Francis said.
Although Chester was stronger than him, based on past competitions, only about eighty members of the Runing family managed to get those three hundred spots. Among the thousand family members competing, Chester would at most rank in the top two hundred, so he too had no chance. As for Fat Francis and Huang Hai, who had just reached the rank of Upper God, Fat Francis thought it was even less likely.
Chester frowned, but he knew Fat Francis was telling the truth. Unless something unexpected happened, it would indeed be very difficult for him to secure those three hundred spots.
“Then let’s go for a walk,” Yellow Dragon said.
He also wanted to see the “scenery” of this Land of Forgetfulness.
Seeing that Yellow Dragon had said so, Chester had no choice but to follow.
So, the three of them left the palace and started exploring, flying over the mountains and heading toward others.
“Jared?” Just as they were about to land on another mountain, Yellow Dragon saw several people approaching. One of them was Jared from the Terrence family.
Back then, during their journey through the Sea of Wind and Thunder, Jared had escaped from a peerless warrior of the Sea Beast tribe. Yellow Dragon didn’t expect to run into him here.
However, Yellow Dragon had changed his appearance back then, so he wasn’t worried that Jared would recognize him.
“You three, stop!” Just as Jared and a few members of the Terrence family flew past the three of them, Jared suddenly turned around, spoke to them, and then flew over.
Huang Long was puzzled. Could it be that even after changing his appearance, Jared still recognized him?
