Chapter 0382: The Sea of Wind and Thunder
Five days later, Huang Long finally emerged from the courtyard.
Bradd, who was guarding nearby, felt relieved upon seeing him and hurried forward. “Young master, you’re out.”
Huang Long nodded with a smile.
Bradd looked at him. This time, the young master’s appearance gave him a different feeling, but he couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
“Young master, could it be that you’ve broken through again?” Bradd asked cautiously.
Break through? Huang Long shook his head and smiled. “Do you think I’m the creator of your world, able to break through whenever I want?” Though he hadn’t broken through again, this evolution and cultivation in the Ancestral Dragon Pool were even better than a breakthrough!
Hearing Huang Long’s reply, Bradd sighed in relief. It was good he hadn’t broken through again. If he had, he really wouldn’t have been able to bear the shock. Two consecutive breakthroughs in over a hundred years was already astonishing; three in a row would leave him without the confidence to continue cultivating. After all, he couldn’t even remember how many eras ago his last breakthrough had been.
“Has there been any activity in the family these past few days?” Huang Long asked as he walked from the courtyard to the hall.
“Not really. Although the task now includes the Heavenly and Earthly Sacred Fruits and the Nether Pearl, plus the reward of both if one obtains them in the Land of Forgetfulness, few members of the Runing family go to the Sea of Wind and Thunder,” Bradd replied as he followed Huang Long.
Though the rewards were tempting, as Fat Francis said, he was afraid of death—his life was more important.
Huang Long nodded. This was within his expectations. After all, even the most powerful warriors might not be able to obtain the Wind and Thunder Pearl; it depended on luck. Knowing the chances were slim, these people could only sigh.
The next day, Huang Long and Bradd set off for the Sea of Wind and Thunder. Before leaving, Chester and Fat Francis stopped by to deliver bad news: the family had decided to release this task to the Palace of the Underworld King. Thus, what was originally only for the Runing family’s members could now be undertaken by any god-tier warrior in the Underworld.
If that happened, the Sea of Wind and Thunder would surely be crowded.
The Underworld was vast, filled with trillions of god-tier warriors. Even if they knew of the dangers in the Sea of Wind and Thunder, many would still go there.
Of course, for god-tier warriors outside the six major families of the Underworld, the last reward wouldn’t apply—only the members of those six families could enter the Land of Forgetfulness.
Naturally, Chester and Fat Francis knew that Yellow Dragon intended to head to the Sea of Wind and Thunder, and they tried their best to dissuade him. When they saw that Yellow Dragon was determined, they could only look at each other and wish him “be careful.”
Yellow Dragon and Bradd left the Lu Ning headquarters and rushed southeastward. However, not all the Sea Plain Prefectures in the Sea of Wind and Thunder were connected to the Lu Ning Prefecture; there were several other prefecture areas in between. Therefore, it would take more than a year or two for Yellow Dragon to reach the Sea Plain Prefecture at the southeastern edge of the Nia Continent. After all, it had taken him over a decade just to travel from the Saint Wen Prefecture on the Cang Hai Continent to the Nia Continent.
As they rushed forward, while Yellow Dragon and Bradd left the Lu Ning headquarters on their way to the Sea of Wind and Thunder, in the Lu Ning clan’s headquarters, Kennedy frowned as she looked at Donald. “Is this Yellow Sea going to the Sea of Wind and Thunder?”
“Yes, clan leader. Should we send someone to stop him?” Donald asked.
Although Yellow Sea had surpassed the rank of Upper God and evolved in the Ancestral Dragon Pool, his strength should have increased. Yet, compared to Yellow Sea, the Sea of Wind and Thunder was still far too dangerous. After evolving in the Ancestral Dragon Pool, Yellow Sea had become a “treasure” of the Lu Ning family, and such a “treasure” must not suffer any accidents.
“Stop him?” Kennedy pondered. At this point, since Yellow Sea had not yet left the Lu Ning Prefecture’s territory, it was still possible to stop him.
After a while, Kennedy raised her head and shook her head. “No need.”
“But, clan leader, what about—?” Donald urged anxiously.
“I understand what you mean. The Supreme God has instructed us not to deliberately interfere with Yellow Sea’s decisions. As for his safety, I know what to do.” With that, Kennedy called out to the sky above the grand hall, “Raymond.”
A middle-aged man appeared in the grand hall—it was Raymond, the one Kennedy had sent to the Cloud Sea on the Cang Hai Continent to search for Yellow Dragon.
“Clan leader, you summoned me. What instructions do you have?” Raymond asked respectfully upon appearing.
“Yellow Sea is going to the Sea of Wind and Thunder. You go with him and protect his safety,” Kennedy said.
“Understood, clan leader.” With that, Raymond vanished in a flash.
Kennedy watched him disappear and sighed slightly. “Where on earth have Yellow Dragon and Bogge gone?” Back then, Raymond returned from the Cloud Sea with empty hands.
Half a year later, Yellow Dragon and Bradd left the Lu Ning Prefecture. But as soon as they left, Bradd stopped and sent a message to Yellow Dragon: “Young master, someone has been following us.”
Yellow Dragon nodded. In fact, he had already noticed that the person had followed them not long after they left the Lu Ning headquarters. Without a doubt, it was someone sent by Kennedy to protect him.
Protecting himself? With the secrets hidden within Huang Long, he naturally wouldn’t let him follow him all the time.
A few months later, Huang Long and Brade managed to shake off Raymond, who had been following them. Once free from Raymond, Huang Long had no more concerns and summoned a top-tier flying immortal artifact. Together with Brade, they transformed into a streak of light and rushed toward Haiyuan Mansion.
A year later, at the Luning Clan Mansion.
“What? Those two from Huanghai lost track of us?!” Kennedy stared at Raymond, who was reporting the situation, in disbelief.
Raymond, usually so aloof, blushed slightly. “Yes, Clan Leader. Shortly after leaving Luning Mansion, they must have noticed me.”
It was a great shame for an unparalleled warrior to be followed and lose track of a direct descendant.
“Noticed you?!” Kennedy’s eyes sparkled. “Tell me everything again.”
After Raymond recounted the whole incident, Kennedy fell into deep thought. “Do you think there’s something wrong with Brade?” Huanghai, a newly ascended High God, couldn’t possibly have detected Raymond. The problem must lie with Brade. Kennedy couldn’t help but recall his intuition when he first met Brade at the Four Seas Mansion.
If that was the case, then his intuition had been correct?!
Raymond nodded. “I believe Brade is not ordinary.”
A glint appeared in Kennedy’s eyes. After a moment, he said, “You may go now.”
Raymond replied respectfully.
……
A few years later, Huang Long and Brade finally arrived at Haiyuan Mansion.
Located in the far southeast of the Nia Continent, Haiyuan Mansion seemed to have stronger spatial currents and a richer wind element, perhaps due to its proximity to the Abyssal Sea. As soon as they entered, Huang Long and Brade felt the air currents were much stronger than in other mansions.
“Let’s go to Haiyuan City first,” said Huang Long. After arriving at Haiyuan Mansion, he planned to stay in Haiyuan City for a few days before heading to the Sea of Wind and Thunder.
Brade agreed.
Upon entering Haiyuan City, they found that most of the godly warriors there specialized in wind elements. With such a strong wind element, it was most beneficial for godly warriors who practiced wind-based laws to comprehend their principles. Over time, 80% of the city’s godly warriors specialized in wind laws.
“Young Master, are you going to the Trade Hall?” asked Brade when he saw Huang Long heading toward the Abyssal King Hall in Haiyuan City.
Huang Long nodded. He came to the Trade Hall not only to buy some ores and metals but also to inquire if there might be any news about Bog and the others.
After arriving at the Commerce Hall, Huang Long went to the Information Purchase Hall. However, when he came out a while later, he had not obtained any news about Bog and the others.
“Young master, do you also want to find Huang Long and Bog and the rest?” Brad followed behind Huang Long and asked.
Huang Long was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, then nodded with a smile. He indeed wanted to find Bog and the others, but didn’t he need to look for himself?
Still, after hearing Huang Long’s reply, Brad said, “Young master, Huang Long and Bog and the rest are not easy to find. The entire Netherworld is searching for them.” After a pause, he added in admiration, “I never expected that Huang Long and those twenty-five people actually broke Lord Marshall’s record in the Nether King Trial!” After being rescued by Huang Long from the valley’s rock forest, he had been stunned for a long time when hearing the Lu Ning clan’s members discuss this news at the Lu Ning residence. Later, not believing it, he even went to the Nether King Hall to verify it himself.
“Haiyuan City is much livelier than before. The last time I was here, it wasn’t this busy.”
“Indeed. But it’s probably related to the task issued by the Lu Ning clan.”
Just as Huang Long and Brad were leaving the Commerce Hall, five people came walking from the opposite direction, chatting among themselves.
“The Terrence clan!” Brad’s eyes flashed with coldness upon seeing those five.
The clothes worn by these five were similar to those of Victor, the blond young man who had tried to ambush the Simps at the edge of the Ancient Forest, though there were some differences. Clearly, these people held a much higher status in the Terrence clan than Victor.
As the five members of the Terrence clan passed by Huang Long and Brad, an old man with black hair at the front glanced at Brad but said nothing.
“Let’s go,” Huang Long said to Brad.
At this moment and place, even if Brad harbored great hatred toward the Terrence clan, he couldn’t act. Suppressing his murderous intent, he followed Huang Long away. From what the five people were discussing, it seemed they were also here for the task assigned by the Lu Ning clan. It would be timely to take action at the Sea of Wind and Thunder later.
“Elder Jared, it seems those people just now were hostile toward us?” one of the young men behind the old man with black hair asked after the Terrence clan entered the Commerce Hall.
The old man with black hair was none other than Jared, an elder of the Terrence clan.
“I know that,” Jared said, glancing at the retreating figures of Huang Long and Brad. “I’ve seen many people seeking death. Next time they encounter us, they won’t be so lucky.” Without paying any further attention to Huang Long and Brad, he headed toward the Information Hall of the Commerce Hall.
