Chapter 1089: Unlocking the Pangu Treasure Vault
While Bai Wu Liang and Long Chen were chasing and speculating, Huang Long and his group left the core area of the Ruins Continent. However, Huang Long wasn’t in a hurry to leave; instead, he continued searching every corner of the Ruins Continent for fragments of the World Tree. After all, according to the World Tree, aside from its core area, there were still many fragments scattered elsewhere.
A month later, after nearly searching the entire Ruins Continent, Huang Long finally stopped. During that month, he found several more fragments of the World Tree, but far fewer compared to those in the core area. As the World Tree merged these fragments and gradually regained its former strength, Huang Long’s power also increased. Yet, even so, he still hadn’t reached the Dao Unity realm!
According to the Holy Man Hunyuan, whenever one reaches the peak of a realm, to advance to the next, one cannot simply break through at will—instead, the Heavenly Dao would automatically send down the Holy Calamity of Hunyuan! Huang Long was deeply frustrated by his own and the World Tree’s failure to reach the Dao Unity realm.
“Don’t be discouraged. Let’s go unlock the Pangu Treasure Vault now!” said the World Tree. “The Pangu Treasure Vault will surely help us both break through to the Dao Unity realm!”
“The Pangu Treasure Vault,” Huang Long nodded.
According to the spirit of the Cosmic Axe, the Pangu Treasure Vault indeed contained many treasures collected by Pangu—rare and precious items. Moreover, it held a drop of the Holy King’s essence left behind by Pangu! Initially, Huang Long planned to use this drop of Holy King’s essence after reaching the Dao Unity realm, but now it seemed he had no choice but to rely on it to make the breakthrough first.
Although fragments of the World Tree were a way for Huang Long to enhance his power, continuing this search, he didn’t know how many more fragments would be needed to trigger the Holy Calamity of Hunyuan!
“Alright, let’s go!” Huang Long mused. “To the Grave Abyss!”
The Pangu Treasure Vault was in the Grave Abyss! If not for what the spirit of the Cosmic Axe had said, Huang Long never would have guessed that the universe’s greatest treasure vault, the Pangu Treasure Vault, was located in the Grave Abyss!
The Grave Abyss was one of the four greatest abysses in the universe—most mysterious and also the busiest. It was called the most mysterious because it had the most restrictions among the four abysses, while it was the busiest due to the wars among countless races! The site of these cosmic wars was right in the central area of the Grave Abyss!
So, Huang Long left the Ruins Continent and headed toward the Grave Abyss. Of the four great abysses—the Death Realm Abyss, the Chaos Abyss, and the Thunder Sea Abyss—Huang Long had visited all three, except the Grave Abyss.
However, when heading to the Abyss of Graves, Huang Long sent the Confucian Sage to the Pangu Great World. Although the Huang family was safe with Hong Jun around, having the Confucian Sage go there made Huang Long even more at ease. Of course, the Confucian Sage went there carrying Huang Long’s token to avoid misunderstandings with Hong Jun and the Huang family later on. The Wasteland Continent was located at the center of the universe, while the Abyss of Graves was in the south of the universe—quite far apart. It took two days after leaving the Wasteland Continent for Huang Long to reach the Abyss of Graves. Standing in the cosmic void, he looked ahead and saw layers of deathly aura enveloping the Abyss of Graves. This deathly aura condensed into clouds of various colors. Yet, the deathly aura of this Abyss of Graves was different from that of the Abyss of Death. Within this Abyss of Graves, there were not only undead and zombies but also countless demons, monsters, and spirits, so its deathly aura was filled with all sorts of demonic, evil, and ghostly energies. After pausing for a moment, Huang Long broke through the poisonous miasma of the Abyss of Graves and entered it. Inside, poisonous miasmas formed by various deathly, demonic, evil, and ghostly energies were everywhere. Some of these miasmas were extremely deadly; even a semi-sage warrior could be corroded if careless. Of course, these miasmas posed no threat to Huang Long, who had already achieved the state of Hunyuan. Following the guidance of the spirit of the Divine Axe of Creation, Huang Long headed straight north toward the Abyss of Graves. As he flew swiftly above it, he saw tombs of all shapes and sizes below—some large, some small, some square, some rhombus-shaped, some long, some short. Some of these tombs were tens of thousands of feet tall, while others were only a few meters high! The Abyss of Graves truly lived up to its name—it was a world of tombs, with tombs covering 70% of its area! These tombs generally housed powerful warriors from the three thousand great worlds of the universe! Some of these warriors had perished in the Great War of All Races, while others died in fierce battles over treasures within the Abyss of Graves. Of course, some fell for neither reason. Some tombs were empty, while others might contain mutated demons. As Huang Long flew over the Abyss of Graves, he heard the shrill cries of countless demons, undead, and spirits. Among them were those with the strength of the Twelve Eras. Yet, when Huang Long emitted his aura, all these demons, undead, and spirits fled at a distance. Thus, he encountered no obstacles along the way. After a little over an hour, Huang Long arrived above a snowfield in the north of the Abyss of Graves. On this snowfield, the ground occasionally showed protrusions, all covered in cold snow.
Huang Long knew that these protrusions were tombs. After staying for a while, he summoned the Chaos Bell, which stood atop his head, and the spirit of the Heaven-Opening Axe emerged.
“Heaven-Opening, is this where the Pangu Treasure Vault lies?” Huang Long asked.
“Yes, master, it is here,” replied the spirit of the Heaven-Opening Axe. As it spoke, mysterious runes emanated from its body.
These mysterious runes formed an intricate array in the sky. As the array rotated, its light grew brighter.
As it continued to spin, the void above began to tremble violently, with the surrounding space shaking increasingly intensely. Suddenly, a strange roar echoed through the void, and golden beams of light shot down.
Huang Long remained calm. With a wave of his hands, he set up a large array to seal off the surrounding space. He knew that the spirit of the Heaven-Opening Axe was using a secret method to open the door to the Pangu Treasure Vault. In this universe, only the spirit of the Heaven-Opening Axe knew how to open it.
When the vibrations reached their peak, they suddenly stopped. Then, a burst of light erupted, forcing even Huang Long to close his eyes. When he opened them again, he saw a giant gate standing in the void.
This gate was countless tens of thousands of feet high and wide, with golden light continuously shining from within. At its center were two ancient characters—“Pangu”!
Though it was just two characters, the pressure they emitted was enough to overwhelm even Huang Long.
A glint appeared in Huang Long’s eyes. The Pangu Treasure Vault had finally been opened!
