Chapter 38: The Five Gods’ Fierce Formation

Qu Yi returned to the side of the Five Venerables.
“Esteemed one, you’re truly amazing—you even captured the Phoenix!” The Five Venerables congratulated him joyfully.
Qu Yi smiled. He no longer felt the excitement he had when capturing the Phoenix. He was well aware that it was only because the Phoenix had just gone through a divine tribulation, exhausting its demonic energy, and was framed by the Dragon Emperor that he was able to defeat it so easily.
“Alright, you all have also captured a Heavenly Soul Demon each—your combat records are quite good. However, the number of Metal and Fire-type Heavenly Soul Demons needed for the Five Elements to break through their cultivation levels is still insufficient. Let’s continue pursuing the strong warriors from the Nine Alliances,” Qu Yi said with a smile.
The Heavenly Soul Demon warriors captured by the Five Venerables belonged to the Golden Dragon Alliance and the Phoenix Alliance. In other words, there were only two or three Metal-type and Fire-type Heavenly Soul Demon warriors, which was far from enough to allow the Five Elements to absorb them and achieve a breakthrough.
So, Qu Yi enclosed the Five Venerables and the five Heavenly Soul Demon warriors inside a Dimensional Sphere, then activated the Boundless Starry Sky to return directly to the border planets of the Meteor Domain Divine Realm.
Since the whereabouts of the Dragon Emperor and the Phoenix had been exposed, Qu Yi temporarily abandoned the pursuit of the strong warriors from the Nine Alliances. Now, he had to start searching for them on the various planets in the border region of the Meteor Domain Divine Realm and capture them one by one.
Although the strong warriors from the Nine Alliances suppressed their cultivation levels and hid on different planets, they could deceive the cultivators of the three realms. But with the Artifact God backing Qu Yi, no matter how well they hid, they couldn’t escape the sensing power of the Artifact God’s divine awareness.
Qu Yi swiftly traveled across the planets in the border region.
A month later, after flying over a hundred thousand planets, he still hadn’t detected any trace of the strong warriors from the Nine Alliances. Yet he didn’t give up and continued flying alone in that region.
Perseverance would lead to success.
When Qu Yi arrived at a certain planet, the Artifact God finally sent a message: “Qu Yi, stop. All the members of the Water Ocean Alliance have gathered on this planet.”
Hearing this, a smile appeared on Qu Yi’s lips.
“Good. I’ve already captured enough Wood-type Heavenly Soul Demon warriors. There are only a few Metal and Fire-type ones—I still need to keep working hard. Now that I’ve found the strong warriors from the Water Ocean Alliance, I must find a way to capture them all and complete the number of Water-type Heavenly Soul Demons,” Qu Yi said softly.
The Five Elements soul contained five soul orbs. Now, all he needed to do was devour the Heavenly Soul Demon warriors. As long as there was enough demonic energy, he could awaken the five elemental laws sealed within the Five Elements soul, allowing it to rapidly break through in cultivation.

Qu Yi attacked the Mu Feng Alliance and gathered the powerful Tian Hun Yao warriors of the Wood element. He then raided the Jin Long Alliance and the Huo Feng Alliance, capturing five in total—still not enough—so he continued to hunt for powerful Tian Hun Yao warriors of the Metal and Fire elements. The Tian Hun Yao warriors of the Shui Yang Alliance all belonged to the Water element, exactly what Qu Yi needed at the moment.

Soon, Qu Yi teleported to a certain part of the planet’s sky. Thanks to the chaotic energy within him, his entire body resembled the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, so he didn’t have to worry about his presence being detected by the warriors of the Shui Yang Alliance.

※※※

On a certain plateau on the planet, the landscape was entirely rocky, with countless caves formed within it. At the center of the plateau, halfway up a stone peak, there was a huge natural cave containing a natural spiritual vein from which spiritual energy would burst out like mist from time to time.

At that moment, over twenty Tian Hun Yao warriors from the Shui Yang Alliance were gathered inside this cave. They had all suppressed their auras and were meditating with their eyes closed.

Due to the pressure exerted by Qu Yi on the warriors of the nine alliances in the Ruin Realm Divine World, these twenty warriors knew that if they went outside, Qu Yi would surely find them. Moreover, if one of them went out alone, they might be surrounded and killed by other cultivators. Therefore, they decided to hold their ground in the cave, waiting for an exit to the Ruin Realm Divine World so they could return to the Yao Realm.

Deep within the cave, one of the Tian Hun Yao warriors suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze filled with confusion. Earlier, he had an intuitive sense that some dangerous force was about to strike him, which woke him up.

Inside the cave, although the other Tian Hun Yao warriors had been meditating, they constantly sent out traces of their demonic awareness to sense their surroundings. When they noticed that this warrior had awakened, they all opened their eyes as well.

“Hu Xin, what’s wrong?” a few of the warriors asked.

Hu Xin, the one who had just woken up, sensing their concern, replied, “Nothing. I just had a sudden realization, that’s why I woke up.”

It’s common for cultivators to grasp certain laws during meditation. But Hu Xin could only say that much—truthfully speaking, he couldn’t bear the shame.

After hearing Hu Xin’s words, the other warriors dismissed their concerns. They had encountered such things before, so it wasn’t surprising.

Everyone prepared to close their eyes and meditate again.

“Haha, friends of the Shuiyang Alliance, it’s been a long time. How are you all?” Suddenly, Qu Yi’s voice came from the entrance of the cave. The over twenty Tianhun Yao warriors of the Shuiyang Alliance instantly stood up, looking at the entrance in panic, their eyes darting as they thought about escaping. “Qu Yi, don’t push me too far. If you provoke me, I’ll make sure we both die together!” one of the Tianhun Yao warriors shouted angrily, acting like a mad dog. However, some of the warriors calmed down, realizing that Qu Yi was coming alone, which gave them a chance. No matter how powerful Qu Yi was, he couldn’t deal with over twenty Tianhun Yao warriors at once. Qu Yi smiled and said, “Everyone, don’t be nervous. I don’t like fighting. How about we all relax, sit down, and talk about the past, exchanging our cultivation experiences?” Such a statement left the over twenty Tianhun Yao warriors completely confused, unable to figure out what Qu Yi really intended. Talk? Of course, they wouldn’t believe it. “Qu Yi, though you’re strong, we’re not easy to bully either. If we all perish together, you won’t gain anything either,” another Tianhun Yao warrior said fiercely. The warriors didn’t dare attack Qu Yi first; instead, they tried to intimidate him, hoping to force him to leave. Qu Yi shook his head with a smile and sighed, “I really don’t know what to say about you. Why do you insist on forcing me to fight you? Well, since you don’t want to be friends with me, I’ll have no choice but to see you as enemies. None of you will get to leave.” Suddenly, five people appeared beside Qu Yi—the five beings who could change their appearance. As soon as they appeared, each held a divine artifact: the Golden Patterned Sword, the Green Rainbow Dust Brush, the Sea-Turning Bowl, the Fire-Dispelling Banner, and the Desert Scroll. Instead of immediately attacking each Tianhun Yao warrior, they infused their divine artifacts with immortal energy and formed a formation. “Everyone, this is the Five Gods’ Fierce Formation. Enjoy it!” Qu Yi explained cheerfully from the side. It turned out that while Qu Yi was searching for the strong warriors of the Nine Alliances in the starry sky, the five beings had already practiced a formation inside the Dimensional Sphere—this very Five Gods’ Fierce Formation. Of course, this combined formation was taught by the mysterious Artifact Gods.

The Golden Patterned Sword emitted intricate golden light patterns; the Green Rainbow Finger created countless green rainbows out of thin air; the Sea-Spewing Bowl alone summoned endless seawater; the Fire Banner unfurled in the wind to form an endless sea of fire; and the Desert Scroll rapidly unfolded, instantly giving rise to numerous illusions of Earth Element spirits.

Under the control of the five masters, these five divine artifacts flew above the stone cave, forming a circular area. The five element spirits quickly merged together, harmoniously uniting to create a world where all five element spirits were active simultaneously.

Of course, this world of five element spirits enveloped the more than twenty Heavenly Soul Demon warriors of the Water Ocean Alliance.

“Let’s work together to break this formation!”
“Damn it! Qu Yi really has evil intentions. Let’s fight back against him!”
“What kind of formation is this? How can it contain spirits of five different elements at once? Won’t we then be attacked by all five types of spirits?”
“I really can’t accept this! After cultivating for two million years and finally reaching the rank of a high-tier Heavenly Soul Demon, I still have to suffer such humiliation.”
……

The more than twenty Heavenly Soul Demon warriors of the Water Ocean Alliance, unable to escape in time, were trapped by the Five Elements Fiendish Formation. Panic set in immediately, along with emotions such as anger, shock, and despair.

The Five Elements Fiendish Formation relied on the five divine artifacts as its core, using them to synchronize their energy fluctuations. This allowed the spirits emitted by the artifacts to coexist peacefully without conflicting with each other.

Only the five masters could execute this formation perfectly, as their souls were one—what one thought was what all five thought. Thus, they could precisely control the artifacts to unleash their spirits in perfect harmony.

Within this formation’s space, every location saw all five element spirits—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—attacking the same target simultaneously.

The more than twenty Heavenly Soul Demon warriors of the Water Ocean Alliance were now in extreme distress, filled with fear. With each attack, all five element spirits struck at once. Given their strength, they were completely unprepared for such an assault, constantly feeling besieged from both fronts—unable to defend ahead while also losing cover behind them.

However, since the Five Elements Fiendish Formation was cast by the five masters together, and given their current rank as lower-tier Heavenly Soul Immortals, the number of spirits they could control was limited. To maintain synchronization, the strength of those spirits was also reduced to some extent. As a result, although the warriors of the Water Ocean Alliance suffered greatly with each attack, they could still hold their ground and avoid being killed instantly.

Qu Yi watched the performance of the Five Venerables, shook his head, and said with a faint smile, “The strength of the Five Venerables is still a bit weak. If they all reached the cultivation level of Mid-Level Heavenly Soul Immortals, I estimate that by activating the Five Gods Fierce Array, they could directly suppress these twenty guys.”

However, Qu Yi was still quite satisfied with the current situation. After all, the Five Gods Fierce Array had trapped more than twenty Heavenly Soul Fiend experts from the Shuiyang Alliance. Now, all that was needed was to deplete their Fiend Essence, after which it would be easy to capture them all.

Although the Five Venerables were all at the Lower-Level Heavenly Soul Immortal cultivation level, they didn’t need to worry about their Immortal Essence. Qu Yi had already taken out the Star Luo Ding to ensure that the Five Venerables always had an abundant supply of Immortal Essence.

Therefore, Qu Yi was confident that once trapped, those twenty Heavenly Soul Fiend experts from the Shuiyang Alliance would be unable to escape and would end up with their Fiend Essence depleted.

“Everyone, gather together and attack in one direction! I refuse to believe we can’t break this array!” shouted one of the Heavenly Soul Fiend experts from the Shuiyang Alliance in anger.

Upon hearing this, the Five Venerables immediately reached a consensus. They controlled the spirits within the Five Gods Fierce Array, with most of them targeting this Heavenly Soul Fiend expert’s body. The rest of the spirits were simply used to hold off the other Heavenly Soul Fiend experts.

Sure enough, that Heavenly Soul Fiend expert soon found that all the spirits around him were attacking him. In a flurry of panic, he luckily became the first among them to be knocked out by the array.

After that, the Five Venerables used the spirits to attack the other Heavenly Soul Fiend experts. As for the one who had already been knocked out, they naturally didn’t waste any more spirits on him.

“Ah…”

Painful screams kept coming from within the Five Gods Fierce Array. One after another, the Heavenly Soul Fiend experts from the Shuiyang Alliance were knocked out by the combined attacks of the five elemental spirits, letting out sounds of despair.

It didn’t take long before the Five Gods Fierce Array, controlled by the Five Venerables, knocked out all twenty-plus Heavenly Soul Fiend experts from the Shuiyang Alliance.

At that moment, the Five Venerables dissolved the array.

Qu Yi laughed heartily, flew over happily, and went to the side of those twenty-plus Heavenly Soul Fiend experts, putting them one by one into the Inch Realm Ball.

With this, the Heavenly Soul Fiend experts of the Water element needed by the Five Elements had all been gathered.
