Chapter 45: Controlling Yuwen Tianlan

The Tiny Realm Ball had been with Yuwen Tianlan ever since he came from Fangyang Star to Zhuyan Star, hidden within his robes. Naturally, as Yuwen Tianlan fought against Zhu Li, the Tiny Realm Ball moved along with him. Inside the ball, Qu Yi watched the entire battle between the two Earth Soul Immortals.

When Yuwen Tianlan exhausted Zhu Li’s immortal energy and severely injured him, while his own immortal energy was also nearly depleted, Qu Yi ordered the Golden Venerable to appear. As soon as the Golden Venerable emerged, he stood beside Yuwen Tianlan and used his mid-tier immortal weapon, the Golden Sword, to cut through Yuwen Tianlan’s body, injecting the venom from the Jade Snake King into him. The venom of the Jade Snake King could destroy the body of an Earth Soul Immortal.

Yuwen Tianlan was surprised by where the Golden Venerable came from and even more so by the Golden Sword in his hand. At that moment, he realized that it was likely the Golden Venerable who had been sniping at the Yuwen family on Fangyang Star, and that his anger toward the Zhu family was also a trick orchestrated by the Golden Venerable. But by then, it was already too late for Yuwen Tianlan to understand any of this.

The venom from the Jade Snake King entered his body, immediately corroding it. With his immortal energy already depleted, Yuwen Tianlan had no time to use it to expel the poison. In an instant, everything below his neck rotted away. However, as long as the Soul Flower wasn’t destroyed, Yuwen Tianlan wouldn’t die. He wanted the Soul Flower to fly away, escape, and then find a way to gather Wood Element primordial energy to restore his body. Unfortunately, even this last hope for escape turned into despair.

On the ocean floor, the Wood Venerable, Water Venerable, and Earth Venerable also suddenly emerged from the Tiny Realm Ball and surrounded Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower. Each of them waved their hands, unleashing their respective domains, filling the entire ocean floor with the forces of Wood, Water, and Earth. These interwoven domains completely locked in Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower.

Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower was green, with two layers, each having six petals. It tried to pulse but remained motionless. Meanwhile, after injuring Yuwen Tianlan, the Golden Venerable quickly swung his Golden Sword, sending over a dozen beams of golden sword energy into Zhu Li’s body, completely destroying him as well.

At the same time, Jin Zun also activated his Golden Element domain, completely immobilizing Zhu Li’s Soul Flower, which tried to fly away. Zhu Li’s Soul Flower was blue, with two layers, each layer having six petals—though these petals were slightly thinner compared to those of Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower. Human immortals had Soul Flowers with only one layer, while Earth immortals had two layers. The greater the cultivation level at the same tier, the thicker the petals.

“Who are you?” Yuwen Tianlan and Zhu Li, those Earth Soul Immortals who had just been in a fierce battle, shouted angrily at the same time. Suddenly, Qu Yi also emerged from the Dimensional Sphere. “You two—one founded the Zhu family, the other the Yuwen family. How many schemes and tactics did you use to reach where you are now? Now, as karma takes its course, you’ve also been caught in my trap. You don’t need to know my name. This is your moment of death,” Qu Yi said with a faint smile.

As he spoke, the life core of the Soul Flower flew out directly from Qu Yi’s spiritual space. The golden-lit life core first landed on Zhu Li’s Soul Flower, emitting an invisible suction force that drew out Zhu Li’s soul. The life core had already reached the level of a higher-tier Human Soul Immortal. If left to grow slowly, it would take who knows how long to break through to the level of an Earth Soul Immortal. Qu Yi had orchestrated the downfall of the Zhu and Yuwen families for the sake of this life core—once it obtained an Earth Soul Immortal’s Soul Flower, it could reach that level, and thus Qu Yi’s spiritual defense would also reach Earth Soul Immortal status.

“No! I’m willing to become your slave!” Zhu Li’s Soul Flower trembled, feeling the life core’s soul-draining power and filling with fear. It immediately cried out in desperation. But Qu Yi merely smiled faintly, ignoring Zhu Li’s pleas completely. “Even if I die, I won’t give you an easy victory!” Seeing that Qu Yi ignored him and feeling that his Soul Flower was about to shatter and die, becoming food for the life core, Zhu Li shouted desperately.

Suddenly, Zhu Li’s Soul Flower changed from two layers to one, and the six petals on that single layer condensed intensely into a sphere the size of a finger, resembling a blue round fruit. Zhu Li tried to explode his Soul Flower, scattering all his spiritual essence so it wouldn’t be absorbed by the life core. Just as his Soul Flower formed into a sphere, the life core immediately formed a crown-like structure, enveloping the sphere and swallowing it whole. Zhu Li’s Soul Flower did not explode.

“Hehe, Zhu Li, the core of the Soul-Consuming Flower is the nemesis of all souls. You still think you can explode in its presence? That’s pure delusion. If you were an immortal, this core might not be able to devour your soul, but you’re just a Earth Soul Immortal.”
Qu Yi smiled faintly.
When Jin Zun saw the core devour Zhu Li’s Soul Flower, he withdrew his Golden Domain and stood beside Qu Yi, smiling as he watched Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower.
Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower remained motionless amidst the encirclement of the three domains, though it could emit immortal awareness to sense what was happening outside.
“Who are you? What do you want? What do I need to do to be let go?” At that moment, a voice came from Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower.
Having only a soul realm but no physical body, he couldn’t use his immortal essence or cast spells. Yuwen Tianlan was well aware of his situation, so he wanted to offer some conditions to survive.
Qu Yi smiled and said, “I want to plant a soul mark in your Soul Flower, turning you into my slave. Will you agree?”
Silence.
“Okay, I agree,” Yuwen Tianlan finally spoke.
Of course, Yuwen Tianlan understood that refusing meant death. But now, at least he had a chance to survive and eventually break free from his shackles.
Hearing this, Qu Yi smiled and entered the domains of Wood Zun, Water Zun, and Earth Zun, arriving beside Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower. Then, his immortal awareness entered the flower, aiming to imprint his own soul mark.
“Haha, you bunch of Soul Immortals actually expect me, an Earth Soul Immortal, to be your slave? What a beautiful dream. I’ve long seen through you—you’re the leader of this group. As long as I control your soul and imprint my mark in your Soul Flower, you’ll all become my slaves.”
Just as Qu Yi’s immortal awareness touched Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower, Yuwen Tianlan suddenly sent out a message of ecstasy through his immortal awareness, echoing in Qu Yi’s soul space.
Yuwen Tianlan, with his Earth Soul Immortal realm, tried to counter Qu Yi’s Soul Flower.
In the immortal realm, those with a higher soul realm could control those with a lower realm if their immortal awareness entered their souls. Thus, those with lower soul realms generally wouldn’t attack those with higher realms using their own souls.

Just as Yuwen Tianlan thought he could turn the situation around and control Qu Yi with his soul, suddenly a Tiny Realm Ball appeared in Qu Yi’s soul space. A golden beam shot out from the ball, enveloping Yuwen Tianlan’s immortal consciousness and reaching his Soul Flower, where it left an imprint of a petal on it. Inside the Tiny Realm Ball was the mysterious expert, the Artifact God; his soul realm was far beyond what Yuwen Tianlan could resist. Qu Yi had anticipated Yuwen Tianlan’s counterattack but still entered his Soul Flower confidently, relying on the protection of the Artifact God lurking in the shadows. “You…” Yuwen Tianlan realized his soul had been controlled and cried out in terror, filled with extreme panic. At that moment, the Earth Lord, Water Lord, and Wood Lord had withdrawn their domains and watched Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower with smiles. “Yuwen Tianlan, you’re still too naive. Since I’ve come to your Soul Flower, I naturally have the confidence to subdue you. Now you’re my slave,” Qu Yi said with a smile. The Gold Lord, Wood Lord, Water Lord, and Earth Lord also watched Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower smilingly. Because Qu Yi’s six bodies shared one soul—if his true self could control Yuwen Tianlan, then his five avatars could do the same. Yuwen Tianlan’s Soul Flower was overcome with deep regret as it shook violently. After a while, it finally calmed down, having resigned itself to fate. Qu Yi laughed and said, “Yuwen Tianlan, now hand over the Wood Origin Stone and restore your body.” Yuwen Tianlan’s space ring was inside his Soul Flower; as long as the flower remained alive, the ring would stay there. Naturally, the ring contained many Wood Origin Stones that could restore his original body. Upon hearing this, Yuwen Tianlan immediately summoned his space ring. With a thought, the Wood Origin Stones inside fell out like stones. Meanwhile, the Wood Origin energy within them gathered under his will. First, a misty form appeared, then a liquid form, followed by a fleshy form, until finally, Yuwen Tianlan’s original body was restored.

Qu Yi, Jin Zun, Mu Zun, Shui Zun, and Tu Zun—having witnessed soul immortality and the process of reuniting with the physical body for the first time—watched Yuwen Tianlan’s transformation with great interest.
“Well, the matter with Zhu Yanxing is settled. Let’s return to Fangyang Star,” Qu Yi said with a smile as soon as Yuwen Tianlan recovered.
