Chapter 6: Break Their Legs
Qu Yi, True Master Han Jin, and True Master Fu Yun all arrived at the Spirit Stone mining area of Hidden Cloud Sect and met on a mountaintop.
“Headmaster!”
At that moment, the disciples at the spirit stone mining area, who were at the Yuan Ying stage, as well as those at lower stages who were engaged in mining, called out to True Master Han Jin on the mountaintop.
Of course, these disciples didn’t know that Qu Yi was actually the current headmaster of Hidden Cloud Sect.
True Master Han Jin glanced at Qu Yi awkwardly. Seeing that Qu Yi showed no signs of resentment, he smiled and said, “All disciples of Hidden Cloud Sect, listen up. This fellow, Li Mu, is now the headmaster of Hidden Cloud Sect. I have stepped down to a senior role.”
The disciples at the Yuan Ying and Jin Dan stages looked at the three people on the mountaintop in confusion, unable to process what had happened.
After a while, the disciples of Hidden Cloud Sect slowly began to shout, “Headmaster!”
Qu Yi remained unfazed and said with a smile, “You’ve all worked hard. From now on, you won’t have to work so hard anymore.”
His words carried a double meaning, as his eyes were already fixed on the disciples of Shang Huo Palace outside the spirit stone mining area.
The disciples of Shang Huo Palace, accustomed to insulting those of Hidden Cloud Sect, took advantage of the change in headmaster and started shouting insults again.
“You wretched scum of Hidden Cloud Sect! Your so-called headmaster can’t even do his job. Where did you even find such a worthless leader? It’s truly despicable of you to remain subservient. Better to throw yourselves off a cliff and die!”
“Scum of Hidden Cloud Sect! The presence of monks like you is a shame to the entire Fei Yun Star!”
“Lowly, vile, incompetent, shameful—whom are you referring to? You know very well—garbage of Hidden Cloud Sect!”
…
The ten disciples of Shang Huo Palace kept insulting them nonstop, with ever-changing insults, none repetitive.
All the disciples of Hidden Cloud Sect were furious, but none dared to retort. They were already terrified because behind those ten people was a master at the Fen Shen stage who was meditating nearby.
True Master Han Jin and True Master Fu Yun both looked at Qu Yi with flushed faces, full of shame, and lowered their heads.
Qu Yi, on the other hand, continued to smile, allowing those disciples of Shang Huo Palace to insult him endlessly. Only when they grew bored did he suddenly narrow his eyes and show a cold, fierce expression.
“Disciples of Hidden Cloud Sect, go up there together and break the legs of these insulting beasts,” Qu Yi suddenly shouted loudly, his anger evident.
What?
These disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect, accustomed to being scolded, rubbed their ears and wiped their eyes, unable to believe what they had just heard or the existence of Qu Yi himself.
It was no wonder these disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect reacted in such a way—they had almost become numb. Every time they couldn’t resist attacking first in the past, it was always the Hidden Cloud Sect that suffered losses, either with the attacking disciples killed or the sect forced to pay compensation for lost territory. Thus, when Qu Yi had just become the sect’s leader, allowing such violence to occur, these disciples thought he was unaware of past incidents and was merely acting out of anger.
All the disciples present at the Hidden Cloud Sect site stared at Qu Yi strangely, but none of them went to attack the disciples of the Shanghuo Palace.
“Haha, brothers, did you hear that? The new leader of the Hidden Cloud Sect says he wants to break our legs! I’m so scared!”
“Come on, ants of the Hidden Cloud Sect! Come and attack me!”
“New leader of the Hidden Cloud Sect, aren’t you ashamed of your sect? Better take your sect and join the Qianhuo Palace instead—don’t ruin your sect!”
……
Hearing Qu Yi’s words, the disciples of the Shanghuo Palace, whose enthusiasm had just faded, became even more excited and started shouting loudly again.
Qu Yi glared at the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect below and shouted again, “Disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect, go and break these ten people’s legs!”
At that moment, Master Hanjin and Master Fuyun nodded at the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect.
Whoosh!
Seeing Master Hanjin nod, the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect no longer cared whether Qu Yi’s words were true or false. They channeled all their accumulated anger into their internal energy and immediately flew toward the ten disciples of the Shanghuo Palace.
The ten disciples of the Shanghuo Palace were stunned—the people from the Hidden Cloud Sect actually came to attack! Realizing that all ten of them were at the Golden Core stage, they immediately took to the air, trying to escape from the siege by the hundreds of disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect. But since they were only at the Golden Core stage, while some of the Hidden Cloud Sect disciples were already at the Nascent Soul stage, it wasn’t long before three Nascent Soul stage disciples blocked their escape, with Golden Core stage disciples surrounding them, all staring menacingly at the ten from the Shanghuo Palace.
The elder of the Shanghuo Palace who was cultivating nearby still didn’t appear, seemingly waiting for the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect to make things worse.
“Attack!”
Suddenly, a Nascent Soul stage disciple of the Hidden Cloud Sect shouted.
Immediately, over a hundred disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect launched their attacks simultaneously, casting spells at the ten disciples of the Shanghuo Palace.
“You beasts of the Hidden Cloud Sect! You will surely suffer severe punishment!”
How could those ten disciples of the Shanghuo Palace withstand the relentless assault from a hundred of their opponents? After blocking a few waves of attacks symbolically, they were injured by the spells and fell to the ground.
Still unsatisfied, the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect followed their master’s orders and stepped on the legs of the unconscious ten disciples from the Shanghuo Palace, breaking both of their legs.
Just as the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect had crippled the ten disciples of the Shanghuo Palace and were flying back to the Spirit Stone mining area, a figure suddenly appeared in the sky.
This burly man with a fierce appearance, wielding a two-meter-long red iron rod, was an elder of the Shanghuo Palace named Huo Baizi, at the mid-stage of the Diversion Realm. Earlier, Huo Baizi had deliberately allowed the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect to attack his own disciples, and now he had come to demand terms.
“Murderers of the Hidden Cloud Sect! How dare you maim our disciples of the Shanghuo Palace! I, Huo Baizi, will kill you all!” Huo Baizi held his iron rod and flew in the air, ready to attack the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect.
Qu Yi had actually known that Huo Baizi was nearby all along but hadn’t revealed it. Now that he had finally appeared, Qu Yi immediately sent Zhenren Hanjin to hold him off. He didn’t want to deal with such a minor opponent personally.
Zhenren Hanjin, wielding a top-grade treasure sword called the Golden Silk Sword, flew up to Huo Baizi and blocked his strike with a single sword, allowing the disciples of the Hidden Cloud Sect to escape safely.
“Hmph, Zhenren Hanjin! You just stood by and watched your own disciples maim my disciples of the Shanghuo Palace. That means you approve of it. Do you really want to be enemies with our Shanghuo Palace?” Huo Baizi shouted coldly.
As before, Huo Baizi tried to intimidate Zhenren Hanjin, thinking that he would surely back down so he could demand compensation.
“Huo Baizi, I don’t just want my disciples to break your disciples’ legs—I want to break yours myself,” Zhenren Hanjin replied with a cold laugh, finally venting years of resentment.
With that, Zhenren Hanjin immediately launched an attack.
Huo Baizi was stunned and confused, quickly raising his iron rod to block the sword strike from Zhenren Hanjin.
“Zhenren Hanjin, are you crazy?” Huo Baizi asked again, still not giving up.
What met the Fire Leopard was even more fierce attacks from True Man Hanjin. His Golden Silk Sword emitted ten streams of golden energy, each capable of piercing through the Fire Leopard’s body. The Fire Leopard finally realized that True Man Hanjin was serious, so he gave up any illusions and immediately picked up his iron rod to defend himself earnestly. After all, his cultivation level was only at the mid-stage of Diversion, one level lower than True Man Hanjin’s, forcing him to focus fully on the battle. “You think ten streams of sword energy can hurt me? You really underestimate me,” the Fire Leopard shouted in anger. Immediately, he began shaking his iron rod vigorously, causing circles to form at its tip and flames to ripple out. Ten flames were sent at the ten streams of golden energy, easily blocking them. It turned out that the iron rod was actually a lower-grade spiritual weapon, which was why the Fire Leopard had the confidence to withstand True Man Hanjin’s attacks. Seeing that the Fire Leopard had blocked his spells so easily, True Man Hanjin felt a sense of frustration and shame, so he exerted even more effort, using his Golden Silk Sword to unleash an even more powerful spell. “Golden Silk Rain!” True Man Hanjin quickly shook his sword, and needles-thin strands of golden energy shot out like a rainstorm. If they hit the Fire Leopard, they would pierce his body with thousands of holes, leaving him crippled if not dead. Filled with rage, flames appeared in the Fire Leopard’s eyes. “Rod Shatters Thousand Stones!” With a roar, he shook his iron rod again, sending flames flying in the direction of the incoming golden threads. Once more, he relied on the advantages of his magical weapon to block True Man Hanjin’s spells. Qu Yi watched from the mountaintop and sighed, “Speed, True Man Hanjin. Your magical weapon isn’t as good as the Fire Leopard’s, but you can use speed to confuse him.” True Man Hanjin had experienced too few battles throughout his cultivation. Whenever there were crises at Hidden Cloud Sect, it was True Man Floating Cloud who stepped in to handle them. As a result, he lacked combat experience and was somewhat weak in adapting to emergencies. Qu Yi deliberately sighed, which immediately made True Man Hanjin’s eyes brighten as he understood what to do. Suddenly, True Man Hanjin transformed into a pale golden illusion, flying swiftly through the air and circling around the Fire Leopard. At the slightest lapse in attention from the Fire Leopard, he would strike with his Golden Silk Sword. Indeed, once True Man Hanjin began using his movement skills, the Fire Leopard was completely stunned and forced to spin along, or else his head would be blown apart.
Just as the Fire Leopard was about to be overwhelmed by the chaos, another red figure appeared in the sky in the distance—it was Mi Huo, the master of the Shanghuo Palace, who had arrived. Seeing Mi Huo arrive, Qu Yi’s lips twitched slightly, and his eyes lit up with joy.
