Chapter 81: A Shoddy Trap
When Long Yue woke up, the ceiling above her seemed strangely unfamiliar. Seeing her bound limbs and the pounding headache in the back of her head made her realize she must have been attacked—apparently kidnapped.
She tried to struggle a few times; she still had strength, but trapped by that unknown metal, she found herself unable to move. Seeing no one around, she slowly closed her eyes, trying hard to recall what had happened.
“I and Ling’er arrived in Hamilton… found a hotel… Early the next morning, we took photos of my brother and Ye Feng and started asking people near the hotel… We returned to the hotel at night… There was a man…” Long Yue pieced together her memories step by step. Her throbbing headache made it take her a few minutes to adjust. “That’s right, a man broke into our room in the middle of the night. Then everything went black, and when I opened my eyes, I was in this hellish place!”
“So, the guy who broke into our room kidnapped us?” Long Yue finally understood what had happened. “But where’s Ling’er?”
She looked around. The room, which seemed rather quiet, was empty except for her. There were several machines by the wall, beeping softly, seemingly still in operation.
“Where is this? Who are you people?” Long Yue quickly noticed expensive-looking cameras in each corner of the room. She shouted at them, knowing someone was definitely watching her. Now that she had woken up, she had to take control, even though she was clearly at a disadvantage.
“Not bad, waking up so quickly!” Soon, the only door in the room opened, and a man walked in.
“Did you attack me?” Long Yue recognized the man at once. Though she couldn’t remember what the man who had broken into her and Zhuge Ling’er’s room looked like, she clearly remembered his build, his way of walking, and his voice…
“Oh, truly worthy of someone from an ancient Eastern family. To still recognize me after such a sudden attack—quite impressive!” The young man smiled and clapped his hands.
“Who are you? Why did you attack me? What did you do to Zhuge Ling’er…?” Long Yue struggled hard to break free from her bonds.
“Before answering your questions, I’m sorry to tell you one thing—what’s holding your limbs in place isn’t just those stainless steel plates you see, but advanced products reinforced with electromagnetism. Even someone as strong as a Golden Core stage warrior wouldn’t be able to move an inch here. So, give up struggling—don’t waste your effort!” the young man said from afar, pointing at the metal plates on Long Yue’s wrists with a smile.
“As for your questions, I’ll answer them one by one. First, I’m a noble vampire! A count, oh!” The young man winked at Long Yue. “If you wish, you can call me Nikola.”
“Second question: I captured you and trapped you here. Anyone who’s watched movies or TV shows and has some common sense knows the answer—you’ve been kidnapped by me! As for why? Because your brother and Ye Feng stole the woman I love!” Nikola stepped closer to Long Yue.
“Third question: Miss Zhuge Ling’er is fine. She’s treated the same way as you—in a single room—but she hasn’t woken up yet.” Nikola walked up to Long Yue, tilted his head, and stared at her for a while. “She has a decent figure, but she’s a bit too thin, her buttocks aren’t firm enough, and her breasts aren’t big enough. And it seems like she has a bad temper… not my type…”
“Who cares!” Long Yue turned her face away, not wanting to look at him.
“Although you’re in Hamilton, you don’t know where your brother and the others are hiding, right? Otherwise, you two fools wouldn’t be so stupid as to show their photos and ask passersby.” Nikola found this amusing.
“You… found us based on this?” Long Yue immediately realized her mistake. Having lived in luxury in the Long family’s mansion, she truly didn’t know the rules of the outside world.
“Correct! But no reward!” Nikola winked at Long Yue. “That’s why I caught you two fools on the first day.”
“Your brother and the others are much smarter. I only know they got off the plane, but no one saw them leave the airport. I don’t know how they did it. But that just proves they’re seasoned pros—such games are more interesting that way!” Nikola laughed.
“I originally didn’t plan to capture you two. I set a trap to lure them in. But after waiting for days, spending an hour wandering outside every day just to draw them out, yesterday, as soon as you two arrived here, I received news. Since I was already wandering outside every night anyway, and they might not come at all, I thought I might as well capture you two too—so I could have two more hostages. Who knew those two would actually take action and steal my beloved girl from me…” Nikola pretended to look sad.
“So, you’re planning to use Ling’er and me as bait to lure my brother and Ye Feng out?” Long Yue immediately understood his intentions.
“Not quite!” Nikola shook his head. “I want to exchange you for my beloved girl! I want her to be my bride…”
“How? By biting her neck and turning her into a vampire bride?” Long Yue couldn’t help but mock him.
“Oh, you’re too rude—completely not my type!” Nikola stepped back and shook his head at Long Yue. “I’ll just give her a gentle kiss on the neck, a perfect first embrace. You know, I can sense she’s a girl with great potential—fifty percent chance she can break through the limits of a baron and become a noble viscountess!”
“See? I was right—you want her to be a vampire bride!” Long Yue stared at Nikola coldly.
“I am a noble vampire!” Nikola emphasized, stretching out his words deliberately.
“I want to see Ling’er!” Long Yue didn’t want to continue arguing about this meaningless topic with Nikola.
“No problem. Before we let her go, we’ll bring her to see you!” Nikola smiled slyly.
“Let her go?” Long Yue frowned slightly. “You… want her to pass the news of my kidnapping to Ye Feng and the others, so they can come and rescue me?”
“That’s obviously a trap. My brother and Ye Feng are so smart—they’ll definitely see through it!” Long Yue shook his head and laughed.
“Even if they know it’s a trap, they’ll still step right in! After all, you’re Long Yue.” Nikola reached out and stroked Long Yue’s cheek, a sinister smile appearing on his lips.
