Chapter 657: The Frenzied Stone

The Stone stared intently at its prey, now completely devoid of reason. Excessive blood loss had triggered its body’s protective mechanisms, leading to a state of frenzy. If Qiu Duanhun had chosen to kill it outright, this scene would not have occurred.

After going feral, the Stone’s wounds, which were previously difficult to heal, began to recover rapidly. Its blood-red eyes locked onto the nearest target—Qiu Duanhun.

Unbeknownst to Qiu Duanhun, his own killing aura had intensified the Stone’s murderous intent, crushing the last remnants of its sanity deep within its soul and allowing its entire being to be taken over by a killing instinct.

As the first living being within the Stone’s line of sight, Qiu Duanhun was quickly attacked.

At this point, the Stone was nearly ten feet tall, still in human form and not reverted to its beastly state. Yet even so, its attack power and speed had increased several times over.

Qiu Duanhun saw the mountain-like figure leap lightly before disappearing beyond his sight. In an instant, a sense of danger struck—as a chill spread across his left waist. Looking down, he saw blood gushing out; there was a fist-sized wound there. He glanced at the Stone not far away, whose long nails were embedded in a piece of bright red flesh. The Stone stuffed the flesh into its mouth and chewed it vigorously.

“Damn you! Monsters are just monsters—disgusting!” Ignoring his own wounds, Qiu Duanhun gripped his sword and charged forward. Sword and man became one as they rushed at the Stone like a comet streaking across the sky.

Though the Stone no longer had any reason, its subconscious recognized the power of this attack. Instead of meeting it head-on, it dodged. Its speed now far exceeded Qiu Duanhun’s, so his strike missed entirely.

But the Stone wasn’t willing to let him go easily. Its figure flashed rapidly, and in just a few moments, Qiu Duanhun’s body was covered in bruises from the Stone’s attacks using the Ancient Demon Stem. For some reason, as the Stone grew frenzied, the Ancient Demon Stem, which originally only had the strength of a peak-grade spiritual treasure, seemed to have become much stronger. Each time the Stone attacked, Qiu Duanhun tried to block with his sword, but after resisting twice, his sword nearly slipped from his grasp.

Especially after going into a frenzied state, Shi Tou’s weapons were not limited to the Ancient Demon Vine alone—he also had his massively enlarged nails, whose hardness was comparable to Qiu Duanhun’s peak-level spiritual sword. This left Qiu Duanhun utterly speechless.
In the time that followed, Qiu Duanhun was constantly on the receiving end of attacks—beaten with sticks, scratched by claws, bitten by mouth, and punched by fists. Shi Tou used whatever method was most convenient for him.
The battles in the other rings had also ended, and everyone else rushed over to watch. Long Tian and the others were naturally there too, cheering silently in their hearts.
Even those ordinary spectators who had previously cheered for Shi Tou were now supporting him as well.
“Qiu Duanhun has lost completely…” Long Tian said with a smile.
“That’s what happens when you bring disaster upon yourself,” Pearl said without the slightest sympathy.
“Shi Tou, beat him to death!” Bernard shouted from the sidelines.
“First-level frenzied state…” Bai Yiyi muttered to herself.
“By the way, I think many fierce beasts can enter a frenzied state too, right?” Ye Feng couldn’t help but ask.
“About half of them can,” Bai Yiyi nodded. “I can do it too.”
“Frenzied state? I can do it too!” Bernard suddenly interjected.
“You can?” Ye Feng was skeptical.
“Xiao Bei isn’t lying. I’ve seen it a few times,” Xiao Yu nodded.
“Oh, I see. Is it the same as Shi Tou’s?” Ye Feng suddenly remembered that Bernard was also a mutated magical beast.
“It’s not quite the same. His is completely out of control. I can control my frenzied state at will,” Bernard shook his head.
“The first time entering a frenzied state is uncontrollable, but it gets better over time,” Bai Yiyi added. “Shi Tou is probably experiencing it for the first time. Besides, his consciousness is suppressed by the killing intent on the ring. So, all that remains is his instinct to kill. It’s hard for him to regain clarity until he kills his opponent.”
The battle on the ring continued, and by now it had turned into a one-sided massacre.
Qiu Duanhun’s body was struck again and again by Shi Tou’s Ancient Demon Vine. Each impact caused severe shock to his internal organs. Blood pooled in his throat, preventing him from speaking—unable even to utter a word to surrender.
After countless attacks, Qiu Duanhun felt like not a single bone in his body was intact. He found it difficult to move even his fingers. He lay collapsed on the ground, allowing Shi Tou to keep striking him with the Ancient Demon Vine, unable to make a sound at all.

“Why won’t this guy admit defeat?” Bernard suddenly wondered.
“I don’t know. Probably because he can’t bear to lose face,” Xiao Yu said nonchalantly, arms crossed.
“It’s possible he’s already fainted or too beaten up to make a sound,” Pearl offered a reasonable explanation.
On the arena, Qiu Duanhun’s body was deeply buried in the ground, with dust filling the air—all caused by stones smashed by the Ancient Demon Plant.
Ye Feng also found it strange. In his opinion, Qiu Duanhun wasn’t the kind of person who would refuse to admit defeat even at the cost of his life. He couldn’t understand why Qiu Duanhun still refused to give up under such circumstances.
Just then, another stone smashed into Qiu Duanhun’s chest. His sternum shattered, but the pressure forced air from his lungs, expelling the blood stuck in his throat.
“I surrender!” A weak voice suddenly rang out, quickly drowned out by the noise, but still clearly heard by the referee. He immediately stepped onto the arena to stop Shi Tou.
“He’s already surrendered! You can’t hit him anymore!” the referee stepped between them.
At that moment, Shi Tou had no idea who the referee was and swung his stick at him. Caught off guard, the referee, who possessed star realm cultivation, was thrown aside.
“Damn it!” Ye Feng frowned and flashed onto the arena in an instant.
Seeing someone else approaching, Shi Tou immediately swung his stick to attack.
Ye Feng caught the stick with one hand and unleashed his Space Vibration technique, shaking the stick free from Shi Tou’s grasp. While Shi Tou tried to grab it back, Ye Feng stepped forward using the stick as a prop and pointed at Shi Tou’s forehead. This wasn’t a destructive technique but an ice-based sealing spell, combined with a soul attack skill, that directly invaded Shi Tou’s mind, freezing his soul in just one breath. From within, Shi Tou’s entire body was then frozen solid.
The crowd was stunned by this scene. The whole process took less than three breaths, and the giant who had been crushing Qiu Duanhun was now subdued by Ye Feng.
Carrying Shi Tou’s frozen body, Ye Feng finally left the arena.
Qiu Duanhun witnessed this whole scene. It was only then that he realized the gap between himself and Ye Feng.
