Chapter 514: Cooperating in the Attack

Ye Feng had only heard of saints-level warriors; he had never seen one before. Bai Yiyi’s soul strength was already at the saint level, and based on what she had discovered, it was almost certainly true.
Ye Feng frowned. Even under normal circumstances, he might not be able to defeat a saint-level warrior. Let alone under these conditions, with restrictions and formations everywhere, leaving no chance to escape.
“Long Ge, you guys go first. I’ll catch up later,” Ye Feng decided immediately. “Yiyi, stay with me. With you here, I won’t get separated from Long Ge and the others. Only you can use your mental power to explore this place.”
“Oh,” Bai Yiyi replied. If she really had to follow Long Tian and the others, she would be unwilling. Although she knew the odds of staying were slim, she felt more at ease than when following Long Tian and the others before.
“Be careful. If you’re overwhelmed, it’s fine to enter some small formations. With your skills in formation magic, it won’t be hard to get out,” Long Tian thought more clearly. Logically, with magical beasts in front and formation restrictions behind, survival chances were slim. But from another perspective, if unable to defeat the beasts, they could flee into the formations or restrictions. Though injuries were inevitable, Ye Feng’s skills in formation magic would make it easy to escape.
Ye Feng stayed put, watching Long Tian and the others disappear from sight. In fact, in this eerie forest, his vision stretched only a few meters, and what he saw might not even be real.
Ye Feng waited patiently, while Bai Yiyi stood beside him with her eyes slightly closed.
“They’re coming!” Bai Yiyi suddenly opened her eyes and pointed in a certain direction.
Ye Feng prepared his Sky-Rending Fingers, ready to strike. A dark shadow flashed by, and he fired several purple spiral lightning bolts. But there was no reaction—either they missed or such attacks didn’t cause any harm to the opponent.
Ye Feng frowned, as he had no idea what his opponent was capable of. The saint level wasn’t his biggest concern; what worried him was the opponent’s mastery of laws. If their skills in laws were also stronger than his, his chances of winning would be slim.
Bai Yiyi’s expression was also unusually serious. “These magical beasts are incredibly fast. They can easily avoid those formations and restrictions, moving freely through this forest.”
“Xiaobai, try using a soul attack to see if it works,” Ye Feng suggested.

“I’ll give it a try!” Bai Yiyi slowly closed her eyes, unleashing her soul attack at full strength toward one of the magical beasts.
“Ahh…” A pained scream came from not far away, clearly indicating that the beast had been severely wounded by Bai Yiyi’s soul attack.
“Is it working?” Ye Feng felt relieved.
“It’s somewhat effective, but it can only cause injuries— it can’t kill them.” Bai Yiyi’s expression improved slightly, but she still frowned. “Their soul strength isn’t weaker than mine; they just don’t understand the laws of the soul, nor the ways of soul attacks and defenses.”
“That’s not enough. Even if we can’t kill these guys, we at least need to drive them away.” Ye Feng knew that continuing this stalemate wasn’t a solution.
“Don’t you also know how to use soul attacks, Lord?” Bai Yiyi fell silent for a moment before suddenly seeming to remember something.
“Soul attacks?” Ye Feng was slightly surprised. “Are you referring to the Water Seal Law?”
“It’s related to water— that law is very powerful!” Although Bai Yiyi didn’t know what that law was, its ability to freeze everything from within clearly indicated it was a water-based law.
“But I can’t sense the enemy’s spirit energy; I can’t find a target to attack.” Ye Feng shook his head helplessly.
“You can’t sense external information because your spirit energy is disrupted by the nearby arrays and restrictions. But you should be able to sense the spirit energy coming from me. I’ll use my spirit energy to guide your attacks.” Bai Yiyi seemed far more skilled in using spirit energy than Ye Feng, truly worthy of being a master at the early stage of the Soul Law.
Ye Feng knew this method could work.
“First, use your soul attack to injure them, then use your spirit energy to guide my attacks—one by one. Otherwise, the effectiveness of the attacks will be reduced.”
“Pay attention to the final target of my spirit energy—the first one that was hit by my soul attack just now.” Bai Yiyi directed her spirit energy toward a spot not far away.
Ye Feng unleashed his Ice Heart Art without any restraint.
“Ahh…” The scream stopped halfway.
“It worked!” Bai Yiyi’s spirit energy detected that the magical beast had quickly turned into ice. “Your soul attacks are truly formidable.”
“The second one!” Ye Feng grew slightly excited; his initial concerns had turned into anticipation.
After Bai Yiyi launched her soul attack, she directed her spirit energy back in the direction of the previous attack. A white light shot out from Ye Feng’s eyes, and the second magical beast fell as well.

The two worked in perfect harmony. After killing the third magical beast, the remaining two fled.
“We can follow them. Brother Long and the others have already gone over 600 meters,” Bai Yiyi said, looking in a direction not far away.
“Why rush? Let’s collect the loot first,” Ye Feng said as he tried to break the spell restrictions at the location of the corpse, only to find Bai Yiyi suddenly disappear behind him. She returned just two breaths later, carrying the corpses of three magical beasts.
“You can enter those spells and restrictions’ gaps?” Ye Feng was stunned again.
“Yes. My mental power can detect them, so I just avoid them,” Bai Yiyi replied as if it were obvious.
“Why didn’t you say earlier? It took us so long to cover just over 1,000 meters,” Ye Feng was speechless.
“Nobody asked me. Didn’t you say Brother Long should lead, and we just need to follow?” Bai Yiyi gave another matter-of-fact response.
“Alright, it’s my fault!” Ye Feng casually put the three corpses into his storage ring. “Let’s follow them. You lead the way!”
Bai Yiyi guided Ye Feng through the forest at high speed. Although they didn’t take straight paths most of the time, it was still a hundred times faster than breaking the spells and restrictions one by one. In just a few breaths, they caught up with Long Tian and the others.
“How are you? Are you okay?” Long Tian turned around and asked.
“I’m great. We killed three,” Ye Feng smiled. “Though they were sacred-grade magical beasts, they didn’t know any soul defense techniques. Bai Xia’s soul attacks combined with my Ice Heart Art were very effective.”
“At this speed, I wonder how long it will take to reach the summit,” Long Tian sighed. He had been under great stress and tension throughout the journey.
“Let Bai Xia lead. Everyone, follow her,” Ye Feng assigned the new task to Bai Yiyi.
“Bai Xia can’t handle spells and restrictions, right?” Long Tian asked curiously.
“Her mental power can detect those spells and restrictions, so she can avoid them and move through the gaps,” Ye Feng explained.
“Why didn’t you say earlier?” Everyone glared at Ye Feng. They had been terrified throughout the journey, and it was all his fault.
“I just found out too…” Ye Feng smiled helplessly.
