Chapter 476: Severely Wounding the Peak of the Ancestral God
The giant python’s roar not only intimidated the surrounding magical beasts but also made the three beast kings—Zijin, Moluo, and Youming—feel a pressing pressure. This pressure stemmed from deep within their bloodlines, and they even sensed that Qingwen’s bloodline might now be stronger than that of their own ancestors.
On the other hand, Ye Feng felt nothing. He could sense the ancient and vastness in that bloodline, but that was all.
However, the formation of a Barbarian Beast seemed to defy natural laws. As the giant python roared, the sky above Ye Feng and the others suddenly darkened. Numerous stars appeared out of nowhere, growing brighter by the moment, and their light fell upon Qingwen.
The giant python’s once-proud roar instantly turned into a pained wail.
“What’s going on?” Zijin and the others asked anxiously.
“The Barbarian Beast bloodline is too powerful. The essence of the divine realm is suppressing it… It’s very likely he’ll be reduced to his original form or even perish…” Ye Feng frowned slightly. This information had just appeared in the Martial Canon.
“Dao Feng, is there any way to save him?” Zijin grew anxious. Qingwen had followed him for years. Though his strength wasn’t among the highest among his subordinates, he was the one Ye Feng trusted the most.
Under the light of the stars, the giant python’s body gradually shrank, showing signs of returning to human form.
“Unless someone can use great powers to force the essence of the divine realm to leave or block its detection…” Ye Feng guessed that only his adoptive father or the master who taught him the laws and secret patterns might be able to do this, but that was what the information in the Martial Canon said.
“How is that possible? That’s the essence of the divine realm! Even saints who enter the divine realm will have their strength suppressed by it, or else they’ll be sent back. After all, it can exploit the rules of the divine realm. Unless someone has mastery over those rules enough to overpower them, even the greatest beings in the Sacred Realm might not be able to do it,” Moluo said, pouring cold water on the idea.
“Rules…” A flash of inspiration struck Ye Feng. “Maybe this will work!”
With that, he placed his hand on Qingwen’s forehead from afar. By now, Qingwen had shrunk to human size, though his scales still hadn’t faded.
“Dao Feng, what are you doing?” Zijin tried to stop Ye Feng, but was held back by Moluo and Youming.
“He’s trying to help,” Youming said coldly.
“Let him give it a try! There might still be a sliver of hope. It’s a small chance, but it’s better than doing nothing,” Moluo advised as well.
“While he hasn’t fully reverted to his original form,” Ye Feng sent his mental energy into the Void Realm, “use the Ultimate Repair Privilege on this beast!”
“Usage successful. One use of the Ultimate Repair Privilege consumed…” A response came quickly from the Void Realm.
Zijin and the others saw a purple glow burst from Ye Feng’s palm, enveloping Qingwen. The stars in the sky began to flicker erratically, and deep roars echoed through the heavens.
After a moment, all the starlight vanished, and a purple pillar descended from the sky, enclosing Qingwen. Qingwen’s body swelled again.
All of this was witnessed by Xiaoyu and Xiaobei, who were hiding in the nearby jungle.
“The boss is truly wise and mighty for capturing such a powerful creature,” Bernard said, covering his mouth and sneering. Having followed Ye Feng for so long, they naturally understood the functions of the Repair Privilege and knew that the privileges of the Void Realm were tied to its owner. If used on someone or something from the outside world, this bond would transfer to them, creating a stronger constraint than a master-slave contract—one that was almost impossible to break.
When Qingwen returned to his giant serpent form, the purple pillar in the sky finally dissipated, and the once-dark sky turned into a clear day.
“The process of a beast recognizing its master isn’t as simple as you think…” Xiaoyu turned around. “No matter how powerful the boss’s Void Realm rules are, they can’t surpass the bloodline rules of the beast. The bloodline rules are among the oldest in the universe, recognizing only bloodlines stronger than its own. Only a stronger bloodline can make a beast successfully recognize its master. Otherwise, other rules will be overridden, and the recognition will fail.”
“No way, I want the boss to turn me into a beast too…” Bernard couldn’t help but feel tempted after hearing this.
The giant serpent lurking outside the city gates slowly took shape again. This time, it didn’t roar but lowered its head to look at Ye Feng, its gaze filled with reverence.
“Don’t let them know about our contract for now,” Ye Feng transmitted.
The serpent’s body slowly shrank back into human form, and it bowed to Ye Feng. “Thank you, Mr. Blade, for your potions and assistance.”
“Qingwen, you’ve got a nice figure…” Zijin teased, looking at Qingwen, who was still naked.
“Put some clothes on!” Ye Feng threw a set of super-divine armor at Qingwen.
Qingwen didn’t mind and put it on openly, finally covering all the necessary areas. “Sorry, I got carried away and forgot to wear clothes.”
“Dao Feng, you’re really generous—immediately offering us a set of super divine armor. We simply can’t afford something like that…” Zi Jin’s words clearly carried a hint of envy. His proud assistant had finally seen a significant improvement in strength, yet now he had to follow Dao Feng. Naturally, he was extremely displeased.
“Lord, if needed, I will return to help!” Qing Wen’s demeanor had completely changed. What used to be a timid person who always obeyed Zi Jin now spoke with confidence and composure.
However, Zi Jin didn’t overthink it. He faintly sensed a dangerous aura emanating from Qing Wen. It wasn’t that he couldn’t defeat Qing Wen in battle, but it did indicate that even if Qing Wen was weaker, the gap wasn’t that large. With strength came confidence.
“Qing Wen, your aura has indeed grown much stronger. Although you’re still at the early stage of a Progenitor God, your strength is likely sufficient to rival ordinary peak Progenitor Gods,” Mo Luo expressed his thoughts.
At these words, the three of them stared at Ye Feng with fervor. “Dao Feng, regarding our deal this time…”
“How can such a great thing be without me?” A voice came from the sky. It was a giant bird, its wings covering most of the sky, its voice echoing throughout the heavens.
“Golden Wing…” The three peak Progenitor Gods looked up at the sky, clearly wary.
“Who is he?” Ye Feng frowned slightly. He could clearly sense that the giant bird was also at the peak of a Progenitor God.
“His name is Golden Wing. He’s the king of magical beasts in Wind Demon Cliff, extremely powerful. He practices wind attributes, and among all the kings of magical beasts, he has the fastest speed,” Qing Wen whispered softly.
“I originally planned to hide and watch the show, but instead, you guys didn’t fight at all. You even act like a family…” Golden Wing slowly transformed into human form and descended. “By the way, I brought a gift along as well…”
As soon as he finished speaking, he waved his sleeves, and two boys fell out.
“Xiao Yu, Xiao Bei!” Ye Feng looked at the two captured boys.
“They were hiding in the bushes, enjoying the spectacle,” Golden Wing said with a smile.
At that moment, Xiao Yu and Xiao Bei were tied up with strange metal chains, seemingly completely trapped.
“Let them go, or don’t blame me if I become ruthless!” Ye Feng glared coldly at Golden Wing.
“You’re just at the level of a Royal God. Without any courtesy, what can you do to me?” Jin Yi clearly didn’t take Ye Feng seriously. He turned to look at the threebeast kings, “Zijin, Moluo, Youming—you three really shame usbeast by trading with humans. It’s laughable! Don’t forget, we’rebeast. Whatever we want, we can just take it by force…”
“Take those two away later, and leave the rest to me!” Ye Feng transmitted his message to Qingwen.
“Give me all of that potion—every last drop. Otherwise, I won’t hesitate to kill you and those two kids over there.” Jin Yi stepped forward toward Ye Feng.
“Jin Yi, don’t go too far. You’ve been watching from the sidelines—surely you know how precious that potion is. Besides, it only needs to be used once. Why do you want so much?” Zijin finally couldn’t hold back.
“Of course to sell it! You must know how valuable it is. It’s better for you not to get involved. Buying it from me is no different from buying it from him. And you won’t have to bear the shame of trading with humans. I’m doing this for your own good!” Jin Yi was completely twisting the truth.
“Jin Yi, don’t exploit people too much. It won’t be hard for the three of us to kill you together.” Moluo was clearly furious now too.
“Then we’ll have to wait until you can catch up to me.” Jin Yi paid no attention to his threats. “With your three’s speed? Practice for another million years! By the time you catch up, I’ll have sold all the potions. Gahaha…”
“Dying is your fate!” Ye Feng suddenly attacked, channeling the energy of three top-tier divine crystals through Zhushen to blast at Jin Yi, aiming to kill him in one strike.
The power of that attack shattered the space within its range like glass, yet the assault continued unabated, plunging into the distant forest.
“Hmph, at such close range, I doubt you’ll survive!” Ye Feng still didn’t dare relax. Although the attack from the three crystal cores was enough to kill even a peak Ancestral God, he wasn’t sure if he had hit Jin Yi. Holding Zhushen, he leaped into the sky and flew toward the distant forest.
“Bastard! How dare you seriously injure me! I’ll make you pay for this someday…” A small bird flapped its wings twice before turning into a meteor.
“Hmph, let you escape!” Ye Feng fired several shots in the direction of the meteor, knowing he could no longer catch up.
“What just happened…?” Zijin and the others finally realized that Jin Yi had been driven away, clearly severely injured. Otherwise, with his fierce nature, he wouldn’t have left so easily.
“Nothing. I didn’t kill him just now; consider it his luck!” Ye Feng was also somewhat frustrated. He hadn’t managed to kill Golden Wing from such close range. He knew it wasn’t due to the weapon’s power but rather his own lack of accuracy. Golden Wing was also fast enough to react and avoid critical areas from such close distance, something Ye Feng hadn’t anticipated.
Zijin and the others glanced warily at the seemingly unremarkable weapon in Ye Feng’s hand. The attacks emitted by that weapon were enough to kill warriors of their level, as they could tell from the spatial rupture earlier. “This weapon…”
“This is a little thing I forged myself…” Ye Feng smiled without going into further detail.
“Although Golden Wing interrupted us, our deal still stands, right?” Mo Luo, seeing that Ye Feng wasn’t willing to talk more, stopped asking and shifted the topic back to the Perfect Gene Elixir.
“It’s still the same condition: if you don’t attack my city, we won’t invade your territory. If either side breaks the agreement, it can be dealt with by that side alone. In other words, if any of our people enter your territory to slaughter magical beasts, you can do whatever you want to that person; we won’t interfere. The same goes the other way around.” Ye Feng repeated his demands. “Also, we need an 80-kilometer safe zone.”
“We can agree to that!” The three nodded.
“Then let’s sign the contract!” Ye Feng took out four contract scrolls. After the three took a look, they pressed their fingerprints on them, and Ye Feng did the same. A white light sphere rose from each of the four scrolls before disappearing. The scrolls, which had originally been the size of a table, shrank to the size of a palm.
“Besides that, I have another deal here. I wonder if you’re interested…” Just as the three were about to leave, Ye Feng spoke up again.
