Chapter 438: This Is the Fiend Realm
When Ye Feng and Long Tian emerged from that void, Pearl was already waiting outside.
“You two… obtained that inheritance?” Pearl asked tentatively.
“Mm, Sister Pearl, your soul cultivation has reached the middle stage of the divine realm!” Ye Feng instantly perceived Pearl’s soul cultivation level.
“I made it through three layers of that tower, but my mental strength wasn’t strong enough to move those chess pieces. So, I simply went into seclusion to train. With Xiao Die’s help, my soul improved quite fast. In just over 300 years, I rose from a semi-divine level to the middle stage of the divine realm.” Pearl said as she stretched out a finger. A black butterfly slowly appeared on the back of her finger, flapped its wings twice, then left her finger and flew around Ye Feng and Long Tian.
“Does the Hellish Dark Butterfly have such abilities?” Ye Feng’s knowledge of the Hellish Dark Butterfly’s traits was limited to ancient records, which provided little detail about this rare creature—let alone any mention of such special abilities.
“We’ve been here for 373 years. With your time-accelerating treasure, you must have gone through 373,000 years, right? Those kids’ cultivation levels must be higher than mine now.” Pearl said gloomily.
“Cultivation doesn’t need to be rushed. If you want to go in again in the future, you can at any time.” Ye Feng didn’t want Pearl’s journey to end here. “Just stay and explore with us this time!”
“That’s right! It’s such a rare chance to relax. I definitely won’t go back to train,” Long Tian said to Pearl with a smile.
Faced with their persistent invitations, Pearl had no choice but to agree.
……
Months later, Ye Feng and the others finally arrived at the edge of the Fiend Realm continent.
“Is this the Fiend Realm?” Pearl stared at the giant garden before her, its dazzling colors dazzling her eyes.
“That’s right. This city is called the Garden of Gods, built from millions of different varieties of flowers. The flowers serve as houses here, with everyone living inside their petals. These giant floral plants have simple consciousnesses; they’ll actively protect those living within them from wind and rain,” Long Tian explained what he knew. “This city is where the Fiend Realm shows its friendliness. The teleportation arrays from other realms all lead here.”
“I really want one of these plants to grow at home as a house…” Pearl looked up at the giant flowers, twenty to thirty meters tall, her eyes sparkling with desire.
“Unless you move here, forget about it,” Long Tian said, dousing her hopes with cold water. “It’s not that there are no seeds of these plants; rather, if those seeds are planted anywhere other than this city, they turn into highly aggressive plants that won’t stop attacking anything alive. So, give up on that idea!”
“Really? Are you joking or serious?” Pearl became frustrated, looking at Long Tian with a conflicted expression.
“It’s true,” Ye Feng finally interjected. “The seeds of these plants all originate from a strange secret realm—a super secret realm that appeared in this region billions of years ago, named Pandora. According to historical records, that Pandora realm only appeared once, causing a terrifying collision with the entire Fiend Realm continent. It is said that collision shook the entire Fiend Realm. My guess is that that realm might have drifted here due to a spatial rift in a higher dimension, ending up in these space currents and causing the collision. As a result, the seeds of various plants from that realm scattered and landed on this land. That Pandora realm was extremely mysterious—it appeared just once and vanished in an instant. No one even saw what it looked like, as the collision destroyed all living creatures in the vicinity. That incident is also considered one of the most mysterious events in the Fiend Realm and is known as the Pandora Incident.”
“It does sound very mysterious…” Pearl listened to Ye Feng’s account with wide eyes.
“It’s said that those seeds that fell to the ground took less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea to cover this area,” Ye Feng continued. “After that, many people conducted experiments. For example, they tried planting these seeds elsewhere, and as a result, the semi-divine warrior who did the experiment was eaten by the plant he grew himself. They also tried planting seeds of other plants here, but none could survive—it seems these special giant plants reject all other plant life. Some even took soil from here and planted these seeds in it; the plants that grew out remained normal for only two days before going berserk and attacking every living thing around them…”
“It sounds terrifying…” Pearl’s once enthusiastic gaze at those beautiful plants finally calmed down a bit.
“From what I can tell, this plant must be inherently aggressive; it’s just the special environment here that keeps it quiet,” Ye Feng said suddenly as he looked up at the tall, various flowers.
Long Tian, on the other hand, frowned and remained silent.
“What’s wrong, Brother Long?” Ye Feng glanced at Long Tian and noticed his unusual behavior.
“Nothing. Just a vision flashed before my eyes a moment ago, but it vanished so quickly that I can’t remember what it was…” Long Tian tried hard to recall but came up empty-handed.
“If you can’t remember, forget about it. Don’t dwell on it,” Ye Feng said, patting Long Tian to reassure him.
Long Tian shook his head gently, sighed, and then began to look around.
“Look, there’s a giant plant over there!” Pearl seemed to have quickly forgotten what Ye Feng had just said and happily pointed to a plant not far ahead that was much larger than the others. The plant was thousands of meters tall and bore twenty-four flowers, each with its petals fully open. By estimation, each petal was at least 200 meters in diameter. Ye Feng and the others could clearly see tables and chairs placed on the petals, as well as people walking around.
“This must be a hotel,” Ye Feng thought, finding it quite interesting.
“Let’s go take a look and find out,” Long Tian also seemed a bit interested.
The three of them jumped onto one of the petals. When their feet touched down, they felt a strange texture, along with a faint fragrance.
“May I ask who you are?” a young waitress asked with a professional smile.
“It’s the three of us,” Ye Feng noticed a fiery, fluffy long tail behind the waitress and immediately realized she was a fox-like demon.
“This way, please!” The attractive fox-like woman led them to an empty table. After they all sat down, she handed the menu to Ye Feng and the others and asked, “What would you like to order?”
After the three ordered their meals, the waitress poured them tea before leaving.
“I find it strange. The Black Magic Prison was opened over 300 years ago. Normally, it should have closed a hundred years later. But all the news I’ve heard says that the Black Magic Prison in the Demon Realm has been open for over 300 years without closing. I wonder if the Myriad Demons Ridge here is the same.”
After Ye Feng and the other two emerged from the Endless Mountains, it took them several months to reach the first stop in the Fiend Realm. Along the way, they heard many rumors. However, the only way to confirm them was to hear what the people in the Fiend Realm had to say. Usually, secret realms like the Myriad Fiends Ridge in the Heavenly Realm opened and closed at the same time. If the Black Demon Prison in the Demon Realm hadn’t closed yet, the same should be true for the Myriad Fiends Ridge in the Fiend Realm. Ye Feng and the others had been trapped in the Endless Mountains for over 300 years. When they first came out, they thought the Black Demon Prison had long since closed, but the information they received along the way suggested otherwise.
“The Myriad Fiends Ridge opening this time is really abnormal. Over 300 years have passed, yet there’s no sign of it closing.”
“You don’t know that, do you? A few days ago, someone inside leaked the news that the Myriad Fiends Ridge hasn’t closed yet because it was damaged not long after it opened, about 300 years ago, when it collided with another secret realm.”
“That’s too absurd. Do you think secret realms are people who can fight?”
“If you don’t believe it, fine! It’s said that a big gap was even created in the walls of the Myriad Fiends Ridge, and some people sneaked in!”
Although these people were communicating using telepathy, it meant nothing to Ye Feng and the others. Their soul strength was countless times greater than those who hadn’t even reached the Absolute Fiend level, allowing them to easily intercept their telepathic messages.
“Now that we know the Myriad Fiends Ridge hasn’t closed, it seems the news we got earlier about the Black Demon Prison not closing is true,” Ye Feng said with a smile as he sent a message to the two of them.
“I just wonder if that kid’s story about the Myriad Fiends Ridge being hit by another secret realm is true or not,” Long Tian said, looking toward where the voices came from.
“That’s simple. We can go and check! But I don’t think this rumor is very credible,” Ye Feng replied with a smile and shook his head.
“If what those people were discussing is true, and there’s indeed a gap in the walls of the secret realm, we can find a way to sneak in,” Pearl said, somewhat eager. “Let’s release Long Yue and the others after we leave this city. It’s a shame they won’t be able to see the beauty here…”
“Are you sure we really have to do this?” Ye Feng asked, looking helpless.
“It’s because their cultivation levels are all higher than mine now!” Pearl turned her face away, looking aloof and proud. “I won’t let them see the beauty here! After we leave, I’ll set them free and tell them about it—they’ll be green with envy!”
“My old dad was right back then—women are indeed terrifying creatures…” Long Tian muttered softly beside her.
“You have a problem with that?” Pearl glared at him.
“No problem…”
