Chapter 375: Caught in the Conflict
After the Purple Extreme Sage left, Ye Feng scanned the nearby energy fluctuations. There were dozens of small-scale battles, which he simply ignored.
Ye Feng’s target was the most intense battle site—the core of this conflict, where the strongest beings from all realms gathered. Several extremely powerful auras were so dominant that even Ye Feng had to be cautious as he approached.
“Huh? How come?” Upon arriving at the scene, Ye Feng found it wasn’t a five-versus-one fight but a three-versus-three battle.
In his opinion, the Immortal Realm’s true god who possessed the Divine Crystal would surely be the target of attacks from other true gods. But that wasn’t the case. The original six factions had now split into two opposing camps. The old monk in robes was on the Immortal Realm’s side, which didn’t surprise Ye Feng, as Buddhism and Taoism already had some connections. But it puzzled him that the demons were also on the Immortal Realm’s side—his understanding was that Taoism and demons were mortal enemies.
The other camp was led by the demon race and the dragon race, along with a peculiar combination of forces from Heaven and Hell.
“The forces on both sides are roughly equal. No wonder no decision has been made after all this time.” Ye Feng finally understood. He had thought that if only the Immortal Realm was under attack, it would likely be severely weakened in this conflict.
Ye Feng secretly observed the battles. If he appeared now, he would surely have to join the fight. But he was someone who avoided trouble whenever possible. He tried to avoid battles whenever he could. Moreover, this was a great opportunity to observe—once missed, he might not get another chance for a while.
In the void, the Immortal Realm’s true god fought fiercely with the black-clothed youth leading the demon race. The demon realm’s true god battled Satan, while the Buddha of Buddhism fought against God. One of the dragon race’s strongmen was held back by the Heavenly Sword Sage, while the other two were stopped by other true god-level warriors.
The scene was a complete mess of intense fighting.
Just as Ye Feng was overwhelmed, a dialog box suddenly appeared before him:
“Do you want to scan everyone’s techniques and create corresponding characters and techniques in the Training Realm?”
“Yes!” Ye Feng was slightly surprised. He hadn’t expected the Training Realm to have such a function. He quickly chose to scan.
Several screens appeared before him, showing each battle group, just like multiple monitors displaying different locations on a computer screen.
Every movement of everyone present was recorded one by one. Even the battles of demi-god-level warriors from other factions, far beyond Ye Feng’s line of sight, were transmitted. Thousands of demi-god-level powerhouses, excluding those who had already fallen, and all their battle scenes were scanned. “In this way, those like the Celestial Sword Sage, whose cultivation secrets exceed the limits of the Heavenly Realm, can also be stored in the Third Domain,” Ye Feng thought with delight. This meant he could refer to the martial arts knowledge of thousands of people. However, to his disappointment, the data of all those who had obtained divine natures, as well as information about gods and true gods, were stored in the Fourth Domain, a realm that Ye Feng had not yet unlocked. Amidst the chaos, a man in gray robes flared his nostrils. After a while, a murderous intent flashed in his eyes as he sent a message to the young man in black fighting against the true god from the Immortal Realm, “Boss, Blade Edge is hiding nearby. I’ve already sensed his presence.” “Where?” The young man in black slowed down slightly, and the true god from the Immortal Realm, who had been at a disadvantage, finally breathed a sigh of relief. “In that forest!” The man in gray robes sniffed hard a few times before pointing in a direction not far away. The young man in black suddenly exerted force, pushing the true god aside with a palm strike. In a flash, he appeared above that forest. The true god tried to chase after him but was stopped by a dragon warrior. Ye Feng saw a warrior suddenly leave the battlefield and appear not far above his head. Looking closely, he realized, “It’s the boss of the Fiend Realm!” “I’ve killed two true gods from the Fiend Realm. It seems he’s after me…” Ye Feng quickly realized this. The Fiend Realm warrior took a deep breath, then opened his mouth wide. A powerful and icy aura instantly enveloped the entire forest. In just a few moments, the whole forest was frozen. Those on the battlefield nearby felt chilled by what they saw, as if even from such a distance, they couldn’t escape that coldness. “Hey, you just attack without even saying hello. Are all of you Fiends that overbearing?” A voice came from behind the man in black. “If you die like this, I really won’t need to greet you.” The man in black slowly turned around, seemingly expecting Ye Feng to still be alive. “I am Mo Jing of the Fiend Realm,” he said coldly. “So you’re Blade Edge?”
“Is it for those two dead demon race members?” Ye Feng asked. That was the only reason he could think of.
“You have no idea how much time and effort it takes for our demon race to cultivate two True Gods,” Mo Jing said calmly, without any emotion.
“There’s nothing I can do about it. They provoked me first. I never leave such people alive,” Ye Feng replied, unwilling to back down. Though he knew there was a gap in strength between him and the opponent, he wasn’t afraid of a fight.
“Then I can only kill you to avenge them!” Mo Jing’s tone remained flat, as if discussing something completely unrelated to him.
“Then let’s fight!” The moment Mo Jing disappeared, Ye Feng vanished as well.
“Boom!”
“Boom! Boom!”
Powerful collision sounds echoed throughout the realm, drawing the attention of many powerful beings.
Both vanished in an instant and then reappeared, delivering heavy punches and palm strikes at each other, creating numerous cracks in the void.
It was pure close-quarters combat, and its intensity overshadowed all other battles.
Many powerful beings slowed down their attacks and focused on the fight between Ye Feng and Mo Jing.
“No wonder this swordsman could kill two True God-level warriors,” a demon race True God murmured. “He dares to confront Mo Jing—something even our strongest demons wouldn’t dare do.”
Many heard these words. Initially, not many knew about Ye Feng killing two True God-level warriors, but after hearing this, everyone present knew he had done so.
On the surface, the fight seemed evenly matched, but only Ye Feng knew he was actually inferior. With each clash, he transmitted his black devouring energy through his fist to the opponent’s arm, which was why Mo Jing always retreated after a single strike. After each attack, he had to immediately expel the terrifying devouring energy from Ye Feng.
Not only that, but Ye Feng also wrapped his entire body in black energy, as he realized this allowed him to absorb much of the impact from the clashes. The remaining minor impact was offset by his mid-tier divine weapon armor and his body, which was nearly of lower-tier divine quality.
The Ink Whale was extremely shocking. Ye Feng’s attacking power was much weaker than his own, barely able to cause any harm. Yet, the devouring energy transmitted each time left him in a flurry. That black energy was of unknown rank; once it touched his body, it began to devour everything it could—energy, flesh, meridians, even bones. This posed a serious problem for the Ink Whale, as he had to immediately expel that foreign energy from his body after each confrontation, otherwise, the consequences would be dire.
After dozens of clashes, it seemed they realized they couldn’t inflict any harm on each other, so they stopped.
“It seems I need to use real skills if I want to kill you,” the Ink Whale finally ceased his attacks and watched Ye Feng from afar. “My true form is a giant whale. Once I transform, my strength will increase several times over.”
As he spoke, his body began to change.
Ye Feng watched from a distance. It wasn’t his first time fighting beasts; in the Refinement Realm, he had fought many mid-tier divine beasts. But seeing the Ink Whale’s true form now filled him with awe.
It was a colossal black whale, thousands of meters long. Its massive head was nearly a kilometer high, topped with a huge, sharp black horn stretching hundreds of meters. Its enormous tail was about seven to eight hundred meters wide—truly a terrifying behemoth.
What left Ye Feng even more speechless was that 70% of its body was covered by thick black armor, even its tail was wrapped in a thick layer.
Ye Feng had thought such a huge creature would have highly degenerated teeth. But the icy glow from its nearly ten thousand teeth, resembling stainless steel spikes, left him speechless.
“This thing doesn’t look like a living being at all—it’s more like a living fortress…” Ye Feng stared at the Ink Whale in its true form, utterly stunned.
“Aaaaaah!!!” A long roar erupted from the whale’s mouth, forcing Ye Feng to cover his ears, yet he still felt dizzy.
Before he could fully recover, a strong spatial disturbance came from nearby. Ye Feng looked up to see a giant black tail swinging toward him, creating long spatial cracks in the air.
Too late to dodge, Ye Feng tried to block it with his fists. The moment they made contact, his bones cracked, and he was flung backward.
“Boom…” A continuous rumbling sound came from the ground as Ye Feng was slammed underground. The dust raised covered the area where he fell, but people could faintly see a huge shadow-like shape through the dust—it was the deep pit caused by the impact…
