Chapter 369: The Newly Born Plants of the Sacred Realm
Ten years of training not only allowed Ye Feng to summarize the martial arts techniques in the Martial Canon but also helped him find ways to utilize the different attribute energies within his body. For example, the black energy with a devouring attribute could attach itself to an opponent’s body at close range once his own body made contact, thereby devouring the energy inside them. However, if this devouring energy entered through a wound, it would consume the entire person—just as happened at the auction hall earlier. Moreover, once this energy entered a wound, its devouring speed increased by nearly ten times. Witnessing a peak Semi-Deity-level warrior perish in just two breaths due to this technique made countless strongmen wary of it.
As for the purple energy with a lightning attribute, after several attempts, Ye Feng finally discovered that it could resonate with divine calamities. He could use this energy to indirectly control the movement of calamity clouds and the rhythm of lightning strikes, making it an excellent area-of-effect attack technique.
Regarding the techniques in the Martial Canon, aside from two forbidden moves, Ye Feng had essentially mastered all the others. He now had nine physical avatars and ninety virtual ones, and he could switch between his main body and these avatars at will. The teleportation technique in the Martial Canon was even faster and covered greater distances than the one used in the Heavenly Realm, all while remaining completely silent.
What puzzled Ye Feng, however, was that since the “Break” formula flashed through his mind, he hadn’t received any new combat techniques or skills from the Martial Canon. Yet he had a premonition that the Martial Canon would change again once he reached true divine status.
Of course, without the help of the Martial Canon, Ye Feng was forced to develop his own techniques suitable for his needs. Those two types of energy with special attributes, along with domain techniques, were part of this effort.
Over the past ten years, he had tried various methods to fight against those dozens of strongmen. After each victory, he would find one of them to test his domain, using them to refine it and grow stronger. Within his domain, he could easily manipulate even super-strong warriors at the peak of Semi-Deity level.
“Ye Feng, the auction is over. Do you want to stay here?” Pearl asked, looking at him with concern.
“Mm.” Ye Feng nodded. “But I won’t take part in fighting over that top-grade divine crystal. Don’t worry. I just want to see what’s going on and make sure you’re safe at the same time.”
Ye Feng spoke openly, allowing the Purple Extreme Sage and those who were spying on him to hear his words.
“Besides, isn’t the third wave of street stalls set up tomorrow?” Ye Feng smiled. “I found a few nice items last time. I’ll give it a try this time too and accompany you all around. Ever since I came here, I’ve hardly had any rest…”
“Yes, it’s time to take a good rest.” Pearl and the others had certainly heard various stories about Ye Feng over the years. They knew very well that he had hardly rested at all during the years he was held captive in the Demon Realm.
“It’s only a few more days. Once everything here is done, I’ll be busy again.” Ye Feng shook his head with a wry smile.
“Busy with what?” Pearl asked curiously.
“You’ll find out then,” Ye Feng said mysteriously.
“By the way, when you were taken here by that girl named Blood Kill, how did you escape?” Although Pearl had heard some of Ye Feng’s stories, many details were only known to him personally.
“I didn’t escape. The chief of the Black Witch Clan took me away.” Ye Feng shrugged helplessly. “I stayed there for a while and cured their eldest elder’s illness, and then they let me go.”
“That girl, Blood Kill—now you definitely have the ability to take revenge on her, right?” Pearl was still quite vengeful.
“Actually, there’s something I still need her help with. But she’s currently in seclusion, striving to reach the demi-god realm.” Ye Feng smiled. “With her talent, once she reaches the demi-god realm, her strength will likely be no less than that of a peak demi-god, or even greater.”
“Stronger than you?” Kelly, who had remained silent until then, suddenly asked.
“No,” Ye Feng shook his head firmly, clearly certain of the answer.
“You need her help? Will she help? She may seem harmless, but she’s definitely not easy to deal with, right? And what exactly is it that requires her help?” Pearl doubted Blood Kill.
“She will help,” Ye Feng said without explaining why.
“I need her help this time because the Black Witch Clan agreed to help me revive Yi Fan and the others. I need to get their soul fragments from her.” Ye Feng clenched his fist. He also bore some responsibility for the deaths of Yi Fan and the others.
Kelly looked stunned for a while before coming back to her senses. “Is it really possible?”
“Yes, I’ve already asked the Black Witch Clan, and they say it’s feasible.” Ye Feng nodded firmly. “It’s definitely possible!”
Long Yue and the others remained silent. Of course, they had also heard about Yi Fan and the others, but in this matter, only Ye Feng and Kelly were directly involved; the others had no say.
“After finishing things here, I’ll take you to a safe place and then do what I need to do. Once I’m done, I’ll come back for you.” Ye Feng already had a plan for how to take care of them.
“Ye Feng, our strength is too weak. We’re a burden wherever we go…” Long Yue’s eyes held a hint of apology. “I want to improve my strength quickly, at least enough to protect myself. In our current state, we’re at the lowest level of strength in this world, which makes us feel very insecure. If that thing from last time doesn’t work, are there any other options?”
“That thing from last time?” Ye Feng was momentarily puzzled before realizing Long Yue was referring to the Refining Realm. “Yes, I’ve already obtained ownership of it. You can use it as long as you want. Last time it was rented, and the usage period expired. Plus, I was in a coma, so things went wrong.”
“Although it’s tiring and harsh every day, it’s still better than doing nothing,” said Zhuge Ling’er. “Moreover, the environment there is great—the air is fresh. Most importantly, the map changes automatically from time to time, making it feel like playing a game.”
“I’ve seen your recorded performances before; they were quite good,” Ye Feng said with a smile.
“Just laugh at us!” Zhuge Ling’er pouted first upon hearing this.
“I remember when we first encountered the poisonous centipedes, Ling’er cried in fear…” Qing Lang covered his mouth and laughed, while Da Sha and Xiao Liu also snickered.
“You guys adapted quickly. In less than a week, you were no longer fleeing and started to hunt magical beasts systematically.” Ye Feng thought it wasn’t necessary to be too strict about this, as they had never experienced such battles before. Placing them in that environment suddenly was indeed difficult for them.
“However, with that previous experience, their survival rate will be much higher next time,” Ye Feng thought their performance was still good.
“Could your strength increase during this time be…?” Pearl immediately realized something.
“That’s right. Over these nine days, I’ve spent at least ten hours there every night. If calculated according to the time in the Refining Realm, it’s almost over ten years in total.”
“I told you, why is the door always locked at night, with spells set up to keep people out?” Pearl laughed. “If you didn’t know, you might think you’re hiding a beauty in a golden house.”
“Heavenly Realm isn’t as simple as you think,” Ye Feng said with a bitter smile, shaking his head. “Although you see me as prosperous and famous now, in reality, the Heavenly Realm is full of dangers, and there are those stronger than me. At least those Dragon clansmen I met at the auction these past few days likely have already stepped into the threshold of the Divine Realm. And that little white dog in the arms of the Third Demon Emperor seems harmless, but its strength is definitely no less than mine… To survive, it’s worth sacrificing some of my free time…”
“But don’t worry. Even though some guys are much stronger than me, I may not win, but I do have many ways to protect myself. If I can’t fight, I just run—there’s nothing to be ashamed of,” Ye Feng said as if mocking himself.
Everyone smiled at his words.
Back at the inn where he was staying, Ye Feng once again entered his Training Realm early in the morning.
“The vital energy within a peak Semi-Deity is truly abundant.” Ye Feng sat on a rock and slowly closed his eyes. The energy from that peak Semi-Deity he had absorbed earlier had been fermenting inside the black crystal for a long time. The black crystal had already automatically divided that energy into three equal parts and transformed two of them into the forms required for white and purple crystals, allowing them to be released immediately.
Ye Feng watched quietly as the crystals inside him grew larger and denser, slightly enhancing his physical strength, though he still hadn’t broken through the limits.
Once most of the energy was absorbed, Ye Feng sensed a tremor coming from his mental sea.
“What’s this…” Ye Feng immediately sent his mental power out to investigate. “That seed?”
“After the energy absorption was complete that day, it disappeared right into my palm and couldn’t be found no matter how hard I searched. How did it appear in my mental sea now?” Ye Feng was filled with surprise.
As he was astonished, a faint sound began to come from the seed—it was the sound of it cracking.
“Could it be that its growth cycle is complete and it’s about to sprout? But it’s only been a few days…” Ye Feng suddenly realized something. “Could it be that the time in the Training Realm has accelerated its growth?”
Thinking of this, Ye Feng was no longer surprised. The Feather Emperor had told him it would take about ten years, and indeed, he had spent just over ten years in the Training Realm—perfectly matching the estimate.
A thin crack slowly appeared on the shell of the black seed. As time passed, that crack grew larger, and other cracks also began to show up gradually.
Ye Feng watched this scene with great anticipation, waiting patiently.
It was unclear how much time had passed before the black shell slowly fell off and disappeared into the sea of consciousness. Ye Feng suddenly felt as though something had added to his mind, though he couldn’t grasp exactly what it was.
However, the seed now exposed from the shell took on a magnificent appearance. Before Ye Feng lay a small, multicolored sphere with nine leaves of different colors, tightly wrapped together, resembling a bud waiting to bloom—except without any stem. But Ye Feng knew those weren’t petals; they were just leaves.
“This must be the nascent plant of the Holy Realm, right? I just wonder what its uses might be?” Ye Feng wondered in curiosity.
