Chapter 283: Breaking Free
After Ye Feng withdrew his mental energy from the Void Realm, several messages entered his mind—messages left by the palace’s spirit.
“Sorry, I was a bit distracted just now!” Ye Feng smiled apologetically.
“Let’s head to the treasure vault first! Keep walking north along the floor you’re standing on. When you reach that wall, touch it with your hand, and the door will open automatically,” came the message in his mind.
Following the instructions, Ye Feng went to the wall and reached out to touch it. A golden light spread from his palm into the wall, followed by a sound similar to an eggshell cracking. The wall in front of him seemed to be torn apart by some force, forming a large door. The wall where the door used to be collapsed into a pile of smooth debris, creating a path of stones on the ground.
Ye Feng was surprised to see that the path floated in mid-air. About ten meters away, at the end of the path, was a transparent spherical object. Inside, there were over a dozen different weapons and equipment, while several jade bottles floated in the center of that space, like stars scattered in the void.
Ye Feng could clearly see that all those items were of a rank far beyond even the heavens, their surfaces glowing with golden light. This light didn’t originate from the items themselves but was a result of the Void Realm’s own judgment, indicating that these items were one level higher than what the users of the Void Realm currently possessed.
As for the bottles in the center, Ye Feng didn’t notice anything special about them. However, he knew that pills were stored in bottles, and with the bottles in place, the Void Realm couldn’t detect the rank of the pills inside.
What caught his attention the most was the transparent spherical object containing various items, its surface also shimmering with golden light. Clearly, this unknown object was also of a divine artifact-level significance.
“That cover is an ancient defensive divine artifact. I placed these things inside to prevent them from escaping.”
“I thought you did it to stop outsiders from coveting them,” Ye Feng guessed, only to realize he was wrong.
“No. They all have self-awareness and are highly aggressive. It’s already a great thing if they don’t attack others. Only those from the Divine Realm or the ancient celestial clans have the ability to subdue them.”
“You mean these guys can only be watched here by me and cannot be used?” Ye Feng felt somewhat annoyed upon hearing this message in his mind.
“That’s right. With your current strength, you can’t subdue any of them—they’ve all evolved strong self-awareness.” This message was undoubtedly bad news for Ye Feng.
“Well then, a treasure trove that can only be seen but not touched—it’s better not to tell me. Wait until I can subdue them before telling me.” Ye Feng shook his head with a bitter smile.
“Since I’ve chosen to follow you as my master, I can’t hide anything from you. The items in this treasure trove will eventually belong to you; it’s just a matter of time.” Such a message came to Ye Feng’s mind.
“Alright, I almost forgot to ask—do you have a name?” Ye Feng suddenly remembered he still didn’t know the name of this palace.
“My name is Liuluan. I can take you out now.”
“Great! After being imprisoned for so many years, I’m finally free!” Ye Feng stretched lazily, feeling very pleased.
As soon as Ye Feng finished speaking, the scene before him changed, and he found himself in a void. He looked around before laughing loudly, “Hahaha… I, Ye Feng, am back!”
“Liuluan, are you still there?” Ye Feng was also worried that he might lose the palace he had finally obtained.
“I’m here. I’m currently staying in your right arm. There are powerful entities dwelling in your dantian and mind sea, so I can only stay here. You can see me by sending your mental energy to your arm.” The message from Liuluan sounded somewhat bitter. Compared to someone like Ye Feng, he was already strong enough, but within Ye Feng’s body, he could only reside in the arm.
“I understand.” Ye Feng nodded. He hadn’t expected that the Void Realm and the Martial Canon would divide his body as their own territories, setting boundaries within him. “I guess I have to make do with that.”
But after thinking about it, Ye Feng accepted it. After all, the power levels of the Void Realm and the Martial Canon were far beyond Liuluan’s.
Just then, several figures suddenly appeared in front of Ye Feng. From them, Ye Feng sensed pressure, and their faces also seemed unfamiliar. His heart sank. “People from the Heavenly Realm?!”
“Who are you, and why did you appear here suddenly?” One of the tall men, over two meters tall and clad in heavy bronze armor, holding a large sword, indeed exuded a sense of pressure.
“I just sensed strange energy fluctuations in the area, so I came to take a look,” Ye Feng secretly sized up the three men, realizing they were all quite strong, likely at least at the True Immortal level. What puzzled Ye Feng even more was that the three of them looked almost identical, all wearing bronze armor. With their faces partially covered by helmets, Ye Feng couldn’t see their expressions clearly, but he thought they really resembled triple brothers in those outfits.
“Third brother, let’s capture him and question him,” said another man in similar armor, turning to his companion.
“Who exactly are you? If you don’t confess, we’ll have no choice but to take you back,” the three of them formed a triangle, surrounding Ye Feng.
“I’ve already said it—I was just passing by. Is this how you three, powerful beings from the heavens, bully the weak in the lower realms?” Ye Feng’s expression darkened. “Hmph, three bullies who rely on their strength!”
“Who said we bully the weak?” The three men lost some of their confidence upon hearing Ye Feng’s words. “We’re just conducting routine inspections. Since you appeared here, we naturally had to question you.”
“I told you, I was just passing by and sensed unusual energy fluctuations, so I came to check it out,” Ye Feng replied. He knew these three were strong, and if a fight broke out, he might not stand a chance.
“How do you know we’re from the heavens?” one of them shouted.
“Of course I know. I’m already at the Mahayana stage in the cultivation realm. Your auras are much stronger than mine. If you’re not from the heavens, then where else could you be?” Ye Feng lied.
“Mahayana stage?” The three men looked at Ye Feng curiously. “Huh, indeed at the Mahayana stage. Why didn’t we realize it at first?”
Yet inside, Ye Feng was uneasy. After becoming a Void Walker, ordinary people couldn’t detect his cultivation level. However, the energy within a Void Walker could mimic most energies in the universe and disguise itself as different strengths—a basic skill that allowed Void Walkers to survive.
In fact, when he first appeared, if those three had deliberately tried to assess his cultivation level, they would surely have detected something unusual. Although usually, people in the Heavenly Realm could tell at a glance whether someone was a Great Perfection-stage powerhouse, there were exceptions. If the person practiced a special cultivation method, it might be difficult to discern their cultivation level at first glance, but once their energy stabilized, their true cultivation level could be identified.
“His cultivation method might be special,” said one of the men beside him, shaking his head. “We are Bronze Armored Generals from the Demon Realm, here on duty. Outsiders, leave immediately!”
“Then I won’t disturb you gentlemen while you’re at work,” Ye Feng said, and before his words faded, he had already disappeared.
The moment Ye Feng vanished, drastic changes began to occur throughout the star region. Various stars started shifting on a large scale, and the entire space became chaotic.
“What’s going on? Why such sudden changes?” The three Bronze Armored Generals managed to stabilize themselves and retreat to the edge of the Death Star Region, their faces filled with terror.
“What’s happening? Weren’t you ordered to keep watch? Why isn’t anyone reporting such a major disturbance to me?” A man in golden armor suddenly appeared behind them, his expression annoyed.
“My lord!” The three immediately knelt on one knee and bowed their heads.
“Bronze Three, tell me, what exactly happened?” The man’s authority lessened slightly.
The Bronze Armored General referred to as the third finally raised his head. “We don’t know what happened either. We just followed your orders and kept watch. Nothing unusual occurred until suddenly, those changes started—without any warning. That’s why we didn’t have time to inform you before retreating in haste.”
“Nothing unusual?” The man in golden armor frowned. “Did you miss anything? The upheaval among those stars doesn’t seem to have occurred without any signs. I can clearly sense the energy turmoil in this star region from here—it’s no ordinary upheaval.”
“If there’s anything strange…” Bronze Three hesitated for a moment. “Just before the upheaval started, a cultivator passed by.”
“But we questioned him. He was just an ordinary Great Perfection-stage cultivator—nothing special,” Bronze Three added. “We scolded him and made him leave. After he left, the stars began to behave abnormally…”
“A Great Vehicle cultivation practitioner?” The man in golden armor showed a hint of skepticism. “Is that the only thing that’s unusual?”
“No!” The man in bronze armor shook his head firmly.
“What does that person look like?” The man in golden armor thought the key to solving the mystery might lie with that cultivation practitioner.
“He looks like this!” The man in bronze armor drew a circle in the air, and a three-dimensional image appeared before their eyes—exactly resembling Ye Feng’s appearance.
“That young man does look quite handsome!” The man in golden armor stared at the image for a while. “Alright, you three stay here and keep watch. I’ll go find him and ask what’s going on!”
“Understood!” The three immediately nodded and watched as the man in golden armor disappeared from sight.
