Chapter 268: Escape

Having used the All-Encompassing Net that was originally meant to deal with Dil, Ye Feng was inevitably frustrated to still not have succeeded in escaping.
Naisario seemed to know what Ye Feng was thinking. It shook its massive head and smiled at him, saying, “If I wanted to, not a single one of those people could have escaped. You must also be well aware that I can hear everything you say clearly. There are no secrets in this forest for me. When you used that black ball just now, I could have easily avoided it. And after being trapped inside, I could have destroyed that thing with a single strike, but I didn’t do so.”
“Why?” Ye Feng frowned slightly, also wanting to know why Naisario had acted that way.
“I am indeed somewhat interested in that black ball that trapped me, but the main reason is that your friends didn’t need to stay. I don’t like humans, especially those who are noisy, so I simply let them leave. This way, we can discuss the things I want to know alone,” Naisario said bluntly.
“Want to know my secrets?” A strange smile appeared on Ye Feng’s face. He already had a plan. “Find me first!”
As soon as Ye Feng finished speaking, he stepped through the gate of the Void Realm and disappeared.
Seeing Ye Feng vanish suddenly, Naisario immediately looked around but found no clues. It felt as though Ye Feng had simply disappeared. It sent out its mental energy, covering the entire forest in an instant, yet still found nothing. Naisario couldn’t help but let out an angry roar that echoed throughout the forest, causing birds and beasts to scatter in fear of suffering unjust harm.
It was the first time Ye Feng had been forced to hide in the Void Realm. Under such circumstances, he had no choice. He couldn’t afford to provoke a being of the Heavenly Immortal level—confronting them head-on would be suicide. So, he chose to avoid direct confrontation.
Inside the Void Realm, Ye Feng could still see the outside situation and hear external sounds, though he had rarely used this ability before.
Ye Feng heard Naisario’s angry roars clearly, but the latter did not leave the cave to search for him. Ye Feng observed everything happening outside while searching for a solution.
“I want something that can kill a divine beast at the Heavenly Immortal level!” Ye Feng shouted into the Void Realm.
“Insufficient domain master privileges!”

“Insufficient domain value permissions!” Two pop-up messages appeared in quick succession, leaving Ye Feng speechless. If it were only a lack of domain master permissions, he could use the remaining few ultimate pardons to exchange for the ability to purchase beyond one’s rank. But if even the domain value wasn’t enough, he wouldn’t be able to purchase those items even if he could see them.

Ye Feng remained silent for a while before suddenly raising his head. “What if I use the ultimate pardon to convert into the ability to purchase beyond one’s rank, and then rent it out? For an hour or ten minutes?”

“Insufficient domain value permissions!” Another pop-up message appeared.

Looking at this message, Ye Feng felt almost desperate. Yet he could imagine that even a peerless immortal-level warrior would likely need a divine realm item to defeat it. Although he had several billion in second-tier domain value, converting it to fourth-tier domain value would leave him with only a few thousand points—far too little to be of any use.

Sitting dejectedly in the virtual realm, with his back against the shelves, Ye Feng watched Nasario still roaring outside. After a long while, he finally looked up at the sky.

“Hey, among those privileges, there should be some summoning ones, right?” Ye Feng suddenly asked. “I think the authorities of the virtual realm will inevitably encounter stronger opponents. To avoid being killed, they must have such a feature!”

“If so, I want to convert one of my current privileges into a summoning one,” Ye Feng requested.

“Ultimate Summoning Right: Allows summoning of powerful warriors beyond one’s rank. A second-tier domain master can summon warriors from the third domain. Validity period: one hour. Each domain master can use this right at most three times, with a minimum interval of one year between each use.”

“How does the exchange work?” Ye Feng was thrilled. He hadn’t expected his guess to be true—turns out the virtual realm did indeed have such a protection mechanism.

“One ultimate pardon can be converted into one ultimate summoning right!”

“The strength of the summoned being is tied to the summoner’s strength. Powerful warriors in the later stages of the cultivation realm can summon beings at the late peerless immortal level of the divine realm.”

“Even late-stage peerless immortals might not be a match. Can they summon divine beasts?” Ye Feng asked.

“Yes! But there are restrictions on cultivation level, none on the rank of the summoned being!”

“Alright, then convert it!” Ye Feng nodded.

“Use conversion right!”

“Ultimate Pardon converted to Ultimate Summoning Right!”

“Count: 1 time!”

“Conversion successful!”

“One Ultimate Summoning Right obtained!”

“Use the Ultimate Summoning Power!”
“Please select a summon!”
Ye Feng looked at the hundred or so beasts of various kinds in front of him, along with a few humans, and couldn’t help asking, “What’s the strength of these humans?”
“All the available options are at least as strong as that black dragon outside. Although those humans are only at the late stage of the Absolute Immortal level, their actual strength is comparable to that of divine beasts at the same level.” The reply from the Void Realm made Ye Feng understand immediately—that these humans, like him, were capable of fighting beyond their own rank.
Ye Feng’s gaze eventually settled on an Absolute Immortal with a long sword on his back and a fierce aura, as well as another golden giant dragon that looked extremely impressive.
He hesitated over his choice. On one hand, ever since he saw that person using a long sword to resist a heavenly calamity from that seal last time, he had wanted to see how a swordsman fought again. On the other hand, he was also very curious about what would happen if the two giant dragons fought each other.
After hesitating for a while, Ye Feng ultimately chose the golden giant dragon. He thought that the presence of the golden dragon would force the black dragon to focus more on the battle, and besides, he didn’t have time to watch—the he needed to escape immediately to reunite with Meng Shan and the others.
Ye Feng placed the location where the golden giant dragon would appear outside the black dragon’s cave, while he remained hidden in the Void Realm, patiently waiting for the black dragon to leave.
Sure enough, the moment the golden giant dragon appeared, the black dragon sensed something was wrong. That aura, no less powerful than its own, along with that annoying sacred glow, made the black dragon roar loudly toward the cave entrance. Although it clearly knew that the golden giant dragon was likely sent by Ye Feng, it had no time to worry about it. Though both belonged to the dragon race, the black dragon and the golden giant dragon had opposing attributes, and their conflict never ceased.
“Damn you, Ye Feng!” Nasario cursed fiercely. “I’ll remember you!”
“Uh…” Ye Feng didn’t expect it to react so quickly—it was indeed his doing.
But anyone with a little common sense could tell something was off. After all, Nasario had been in this area for so many years and had never encountered a golden giant dragon here, let alone one with such formidable strength. Considering all the events related to Ye Feng, if it wasn’t him, then there could be no one else!

Although Naisario clearly knew this was Ye Feng’s ruse to lure it away, it still rushed out of the cave without hesitation and confronted the golden dragon of similar size to itself. The dignity of a black dragon could not be provoked; it no longer cared about Ye Feng. The sudden appearance of a golden dragon in its territory was something it could never tolerate.

“As expected, such stimulation is the most effective!” Ye Feng said with a sly smile. “This guy clearly knew it was my trick, yet he still charged out. The sense of honor among dragons is indeed as strong as the legends say! If I had chosen that backstabbing peerless immortal earlier, it might not have agreed to fight so easily!”

Seeing the two dragons locked in combat, Ye Feng secretly opened the door to the Void Realm and stepped out of it. His sudden appearance obviously caught Naisario’s attention, but at that moment, it dared not make any move. After all, in a fight between masters, victory or defeat often hinges in an instant. If it got distracted and the other side took advantage, it might suffer severe damage. It grew furious at Ye Feng and could only watch helplessly as he appeared right before its eyes.

Facing the cave entrance, Ye Feng slowly backed away, worried that the black dragon might attack suddenly. After all, if he angered it, he might face its reckless revenge.

Noticing Ye Feng’s extreme caution, Naisario found it amusing. It knew Ye Feng still had reservations about it. Although it couldn’t act physically, it still couldn’t resist threatening him verbally, “Ye Feng, if you leave now, I will surely regard you as an enemy in the future. If you stay and tell me what I want to know, I’ll let you go—no false promises!”

“Then I’m sorry, but there are things I refuse to tell anyone,” Ye Feng said firmly, unyielding. “Besides, as far as I know, you can’t leave this place either. I have no need to worry about your threats. The reason you’re not killing me is because certain things about me exceed your understanding. You think I can help you leave here!”

Naisario’s expression darkened. It hadn’t expected Ye Feng to know it couldn’t leave and to guess its intentions.

“I’m not afraid of being watched. What I fear is being trapped here like you. So, goodbye!” With that, Ye Feng stepped into the exit and disappeared from Naisario’s sight.

Nessarius let out a wild roar and viciously bit at the golden dragon; it needed to vent its anger completely!
