Chapter 237: Food Delivered to the Doorstep
After seeing Ye Feng take action, Xiao Moxi now looked at him with utter reverence. Although he hadn’t seen clearly how Ye Feng fought, he had clearly seen the huge tiger fall at Ye Feng’s feet, and that fierce-looking uncle also surrender to him. In his mind, this clearly proved that Ye Feng was extremely powerful.
Yet Ye Feng felt uneasy. Ever since he sent Jiuwei and the others away, Xiao Moxi’s gaze had never left him for a moment. Ye Feng could certainly understand this kind of childlike admiration for heroes, but he just couldn’t get used to it.
After returning to Agri Planet, Fat gave Moxi the secret manual for cultivating the physical body, and Moxi, as agreed, handed the key to Fat.
Ye Feng borrowed the manual from Moxi and flipped through it. As Fat had said, this cultivation method didn’t require meridian circulation to function—it only needed physical strengthening to advance.
However, Fat’s expression turned gloomy after obtaining the key. Although he had exchanged the manual for it, Ye Feng also played a significant role. If not for Ye Feng, he might have chosen to avoid those people and thus not get the key. What annoyed him now was the ownership of the key. If he kept it, it would be unfair to Ye Feng, who had done so much effort. If he gave it to Ye Feng, it would also be unfair to himself, as he had made the deal and owned the manual. Most importantly, he wasn’t willing to simply hand over the key.
Ye Feng hadn’t expected the other party to be struggling over such issues. He was patiently teaching Moxi the first level of the physical cultivation method.
After pondering for a while, Fat suddenly slapped his head—he finally came up with a solution.
“Ye Feng, how about we cooperate?” Fat stepped up to Ye Feng, his expression somewhat reluctant.
“Cooperate? Cooperate on what?” Ye Feng turned to look at Fat curiously, puzzled by his sudden proposal.
“There’s only one key here. Although I made this deal with that kid, you’ve also contributed a lot,” Fat explained. “I can’t just hand over the key to you, nor can I leave you out of it.”
“So, I chose a solution that satisfies both sides—namely, we work together. In that way, you become one of us, and when we open the treasure, we’ll be a united force, working together to get what we want first. After that, we can come back and discuss how to divide it,” Fat proposed.
“Sure!” Ye Feng agreed readily. Fat hadn’t expected Ye Feng to agree so easily; he thought it would take Ye Feng at least a few days to consider it.
“Don’t you need to think about it?” Fat couldn’t help asking.
“Think about what?” Ye Feng asked, puzzled.
“I mean, take some time to consider my suggestion. Didn’t you hear what I said just now?” Fat suspected Ye Feng hadn’t heard him talk about cooperation at all.
“You mean the matter of cooperation?” Ye Feng nodded. “I’ve already agreed? What more is there to think about?”
“Don’t you think agreeing so quickly is a bit hasty? What if you regret it later?” Fat pressed.
“It sounds like you don’t really want me to agree?” Ye Feng looked at Fat skeptically, finding his behavior somewhat strange.
“Of course I hope you agree!” Fat almost jumped for joy upon hearing Ye Feng’s words. “I can’t possibly break the key in half, can I? I just think you answered too casually, without careful consideration. If you regret it later, it will harm our relationship.”
“The reason I agreed so quickly is because I’ve already thought about this. I considered it even before this retreat; I just never brought it up.” Ye Feng shook his head and smiled. “You don’t need to worry that I’ll go back on my word. I never do anything that would make me regret it.”
Hearing Ye Feng say that, Fat finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Each keyholder can bring ten people, so one key is enough for us. You don’t need to waste time searching for keys either; you can spend that time on other things.”
Ye Feng was only interested in the treasure itself, not the keys to it. Having the keys wasn’t important; what mattered was being able to enter the treasure!
Following Fat’s advice, Ye Feng stopped searching for the treasure keys. There was no need to hoard such things, and too many people would fight over them, making it too risky.
After handing Mossi over to Fat, Ye Feng returned to his lodging.
“Boss, we can finally have some time to spend with you!” Bernard said proudly, while Xiao Yu nodded and let out a few high-pitched chirps.
“It’s been so long since we arrived on Agri Planet; finally, we can relax a bit,” Ye Feng said with a nod and a smile.
As soon as Ye Feng finished speaking, his expression suddenly changed. “Who’s there? Why hiding?”
A figure gradually took shape in the darkness, clapping his hands leisurely. “It seems you’ve gotten stronger again!”
“It’s you!” Ye Feng finally recognized the person—it was the demon Dir, who had tried to kill him and Lilith last time.
“Surprised I’m still alive?” Dir said with a smug smile.
“No, not at all!” Ye Feng shook his head. “We all knew you weren’t dead!”
“How is that possible? My disguise was perfect!” Dir said in disbelief.
“Perfect? There seem to be many flaws. Lilith figured out your true identity just by seeing that ring and knew you had escaped,” Ye Feng said with a shake of his head. “Not to mention that demon wolf got nothing from eating you!”
“I forgot that little brat Lilith has been following me for years and knows quite a bit about me.” Dir finally believed Ye Feng’s words. “As for that substitute being eaten, I thought about it too, but that flaw was unavoidable.”
“You came back this time because you forgot the lesson from last time, right?” Ye Feng didn’t intend to keep chatting with him—after all, he was an enemy, not a friend.
“Of course, my target is still you!” Dir said with a smile. “I heard you came out of seclusion, so I came right away. That little brat Lilith is protected by Fat, so it’s hard to deal with her. But you’re different—no one’s protecting you!”
“As for that magical beast, I already have a way to deal with it!” Dir said as he took out a collar from his ring. “It’s called ‘Cage of Beasts,’ an item from the heavens. It can trap magical beasts three levels stronger than itself for a short time.”
“It seems you’ve come prepared!” Ye Feng shook his head helplessly with a smile. He hadn’t expected the other party to go to such lengths just to deal with him.
“Of course. This was prepared especially for you!” Dir said with a proud expression. “It took me a lot of effort to get this. It can trap your summoning beast for an hour. An hour is more than enough to deal with you!”
“Well, it seems quite a lot of effort was wasted!” Ye Feng laughed. “I wonder, since the woman you made the deal with is dead, why are you still determined to complete this task? The item in our deal should be the key to the treasure, right? Haven’t you already gotten the key to the treasure?”
“There are rules to deals. Every time I accept a deal, I must swear an oath to Lord Satan that I must complete it to receive the other party’s reward. If I break this oath, the consequences will be severe! Besides, she’s dead now, so our deal can’t be canceled. I only have one option—complete the task. Also, I need to correct one thing: the item in my deal with her wasn’t the key to the treasure, but her soul! The key to the treasure is just an accessory!” Dil explained calmly.
“In other words, that five-star-shaped key is indeed with you?” Ye Feng narrowed his eyes slightly. He hadn’t expected that the key he had struggled so hard to obtain would come to him so easily.
“That’s right. I’ve been thinking about selling it lately, but there are too many people who want it. I’ve chosen a few major sects that might be able to pay the highest price as potential buyers and met with a few of them, but I still haven’t decided which one to choose as the final buyer.” Dil wore a relaxed expression. He was completely honest with Ye Feng, believing that Ye Feng was already in his grasp and there was no need to hide anything.
“To be honest, you should have done some research before coming!” Ye Feng wore a strange smile.
“Research? Why?” Dil shook his head. “You only have special summons. Besides, I have a backup plan.”
As he spoke, Dil took out a collar. “To prevent you from summoning a second or third summon, I specifically bought nine more binding ropes as a backup. What else could possibly go wrong?”
“You’ve really gone to a lot of trouble!” Ye Feng shook his head and laughed. “But there’s one thing I must regretfully tell you. This time, I don’t plan to use any summons.”
“What?” Dil thought he was hearing hallucinations. He stared at Ye Feng with wide eyes.
“I plan to entertain you personally!” Ye Feng’s lips curled into a confident smile.
After hearing Ye Feng’s words, Di Er was stunned for a long time before bursting into laughter. “What? Just you? With your cultivation level, rising from the Diversion Stage to the Calamity Crossing Stage—what does that matter? You should know that I’m a pure-blooded demon. Even though my strength is restricted in the cultivation world, it’s still on par with that of a Spirit Immortal. Your strength is nowhere near mine. Can’t you see that at all?”
“Sorry, I can’t see it!” Ye Feng shook his head nonchalantly. “All I know is that your storage ring and the key to that treasure will soon belong to me…”
