Chapter 232: The First Contract Privilege Holder
Before entering seclusion, Ye Feng knew there was one more thing he needed to settle.
Yue Ming had worked for him for several months. Although his initial intention in approaching him was not pure—just to use him to expand sales channels—Yue Ming was smart enough and dedicated enough to his tasks, usually completing them well. It must be said that such people were indeed rare on Agri Planet.
After much consideration, Ye Feng decided to grant him some authority over the Virtual Realm.
When Ye Feng appeared again at Yue Ming’s luxurious residence, Yue Ming was completely unprepared for his visit. Ever since the name “Blade” spread across Agri Planet, Yue Ming had wisely avoided disturbing Ye Feng.
“Mr. Blade, how did you find time to come today?” Yue Ming asked politely as ever.
“Yue Ming, you’ve done very well over these past few months,” Ye Feng said with a smile.
Hearing this, Yue Ming became somewhat anxious, not sure what Ye Feng meant.
“If it weren’t for you during my time on Agri Planet, I wouldn’t be where I am today!” Ye Feng was telling the truth. Without Yue Ming’s help in finding sales channels, it would have been difficult for him to accumulate the necessary domain value, let alone afford equipment and pills.
“Mr. Blade, I don’t quite understand…” Yue Ming looked at him in confusion.
“Do you want to know where my supplies come from?” Ye Feng interrupted him.
Hearing about the source of his supplies, Yue Ming was slightly surprised. He hadn’t expected Ye Feng to reveal such an important matter to him. After hesitating for a while and confirming that Ye Feng wasn’t trying to deceive him, he nodded.
“Take this!” Ye Feng took out a gold coin from his hand. It resembled the ones from the Virtual Realm he had seen before, though with different patterns.
“What is this?” Yue Ming took the coin from Ye Feng.
“A key!” Ye Feng smiled. “All the goods I gave you before are inside. But since your domain value is zero, you’ll probably only see empty shelves when you enter. Instructions will appear once you’re inside. Still, using it mainly depends on yourself.”
“This key only grants you access to the second domain. Moreover, some special items can only be purchased with my permission. I hope you won’t disappoint me. If you perform well, I might grant you access to the third domain later.”
Yue Ming held the gold coin, not knowing what to do for a long time.
“You won’t need to ask me for goods anymore! With this, you can be completely self-sufficient. And I won’t appear again for a while. I need to retreat for some time—use that time to figure out how to use this thing. If you have any questions, come to see me after I finish my retreat!” After saying that, Ye Feng turned and left. Yue Ming still stood there, dumbfounded, holding the gold coin, not knowing what to say.
After a while, he finally made up his mind, cut his finger, and dropped blood on the gold coin…
At the same time, a dialogue box appeared before Ye Feng’s eyes:
Contract Privileges Activated:
Grantor: Ye Feng
Recipient: Yue Ming
Authorization Scope: Ordinary items in the second domain; purchase of special items requires the grantor’s approval.
Please select the domain value conversion ratio:
Grantor: Recipient = 4:1, meaning the recipient can exchange one mid-grade spirit crystal for only 2,000 domain values, with the remaining 8,000 belonging to the grantor.
Contract established successfully!
The grantor can view all records of the recipient’s use of the virtual domain.
After reading this, Ye Feng was completely relieved. “Finally, I can leave all these tasks to that guy, Yue Ming. Four to one might be harsh, but it’s still better than getting only 10% commission before! Many items can cost dozens of times more—even one-fifth is still a significant increase.”
After completing this, Ye Feng returned to where Fat and the others were. Fat had told him earlier that he had built several dedicated retreat rooms that he could lend out.
Ye Feng didn’t intend to be polite—after all, the cost of retreat rooms in inns was high, and he could save that expense. Moreover, according to Fat, his retreat rooms were better than most inns’ ones.
“I’m back. Where’s your retreat room?”
“Basement number one. Here’s the key.” Fat casually tossed the key to Ye Feng while playing with his two pet beasts. “Your cultivation level is really poor—you’d better level up soon!”
“I don’t need you to remind me; I know what to do!” Ye Feng snatched the key and headed toward Basement No. 1.
Fate’s meditation room was different from ordinary ones—the walls, floor, and ceiling around it were all pure white. It was a flawlessly white color that made Ye Feng, upon entering, instinctively look down at his feet, afraid of contaminating that space.
Only after seeing that he hadn’t left any footprints did Ye Feng feel relieved.
Besides, this meditation room was several times larger than ordinary ones, even the spirit-concentrating array on the floor was bigger than that in Basement No. 1.
Ye Feng also noticed that on the ceiling, aside from a night pearl emitting an incandescent glow, there was a carved array. Its position corresponded to that of the spirit-concentrating array on the floor, and its intricate patterns bore some resemblance to those of the array below.
Ye Feng narrowed his eyes slightly. He had heard of this type of array arrangement, called a composite array. It was extremely difficult to set up, and only masters could accomplish it independently.
Normally, a composite array was far more powerful than a single array—not just a simple combination of effects, but an exponential increase in power.
Ye Feng carefully stepped into the range of the spirit-concentrating array. A dense flow of spiritual energy instantly enveloped his body, and everything around him was a vast expanse of white.
Ye Feng knew that under normal circumstances, there wouldn’t be so much spiritual energy in the array. The only explanation was that the array had been operating continuously, never stopping regardless of whether anyone was inside.
After confirming it was safe inside the array, Ye Feng sat cross-legged and purchased a Grade 5 Spirit Ascension Pill from the Virtual Realm.
“Grade 5 Spirit Ascension Pill! Requires 100 million points of Level 2 domain value. After consumption, it allows a Cultivator in the Divided Mind stage to directly advance to the Combined Body stage in a short period.”
“Confirm purchase!”
“Purchase successful. 100 million points of Level 2 domain value deducted.”
Visually, the Grade 5 Spirit Ascension Pill didn’t differ much from the Grade 4 and Grade 3 pills he had taken before.
Without hesitation, Ye Feng stuffed the pill into his mouth.
……
Yue Ming stepped through the ancient gate in surprise. The shelves lining the inside of the gate shocked him, but when he saw they were all empty, he was stunned for a while.
Virtual Realm: Second Realm — Cultivation Realm
User: Yue Ming
Access Rights: Level 2 rights; domain value rights are zero, unable to view items.
“What is domain value? What’s it used for?” Yue Ming asked curiously.
“Domain value is the currency in the Virtual Realm. Only by possessing domain value can one purchase items within it,” a redemption box appeared in front of Yue Ming.
“How then can one obtain domain value?” Yue Ming pressed on.
“There are many ways to obtain domain value, but the main methods are roughly two:
The first is to exchange items. However, the Virtual Realm only accepts objects with energy.
The second is to exchange with souls. The souls of the creatures you kill are absorbed by the Virtual Realm, and the greater the good or evil value, the more domain value their souls can yield…”
“Items with energy? I wonder if spirit crystals count?” Yue Ming asked further.
“One lower-grade spirit crystal can be exchanged for 200 points of domain value, one middle-grade spirit crystal for 2,000 points, and one upper-grade spirit crystal for 20,000 points,” another dialogue box appeared in front of Yue Ming, detailing the conversion rate of spirit crystals to domain value.
“I see!” Yue Ming was slowly figuring out how to use the Virtual Realm. “Then I’ll exchange five middle-grade spirit crystals first to get 10,000 points of domain value, just to see what’s available on the shelves!”
Saying this, Yue Ming took out five middle-grade spirit crystals from his storage ring and held them in his palm, but the Virtual Realm showed no response for a long time.
He couldn’t help but mutter, “Do I need to say some secret phrase? How exactly does the exchange work?”
As soon as he finished speaking, another dialogue box appeared in front of him.
“Middle-grade spirit crystals, 5 in total. Convert to domain value?”
“Yes!”
“Exchange successful. Five middle-grade spirit crystals have been deducted, converted into 10,000 points of domain value…”
“It really works!” Yue Ming smiled happily, feeling as delighted as a child who has figured out how a new toy works.
“The recipient gains 10,000 points of second-tier domain value and can view all items up to 100,000 points of domain value.”
Hearing this, Yue Ming rushed to the nearest shelf in two strides, eager to see if he had indeed succeeded.
The shelf was no longer empty; it was filled with various items—many medicinal pills and spirit weapons of different grades.
With a look of disbelief, Yue Ming glanced around. Every shelf he saw was packed with all kinds of goods.
“It’s real…” Yue Ming pinched his thigh hard; only after feeling the pain did he believe that everything before his eyes was true.
