Chapter 159: Successful Kill
Ye Feng, now trapped in the deep pit, indeed found it difficult to move. The intense pain in his chest made him gasp for air several times. The ribs that had pierced his lungs caused searing pain with every breath, and the ruptured alveoli quickly filled with blood, which flowed out through his mouth along the trachea with each breath.
The full-force strike from a powerhouse in the Diversion Stage was indeed far more terrifying than Ye Feng could have imagined—equivalent to 100 times the strength of a Yuan Ying Stage warrior. He was already lucky to not be killed on the spot.
Hearing the sound of shoes stepping on the ground as they approached, Ye Feng tried hard to ignore the pain and escape from the pit. He knew that if he didn’t flee, he would likely be killed immediately.
After several attempts, he still couldn’t get up. Whenever he tried to lift his upper body, the pain in his chest intensified, and more blood flowed from his mouth. He could feel a bone deeply embedded in his lung; any movement that caused him to lean back would push it deeper into his lung.
After several attempts, Ye Feng finally gave up. He stared coldly at Yu Huawen, who was slowly walking toward him. He reached into the Void Realm and retrieved the Photon Cannon.
As soon as the Photon Cannon was held in his right hand, it automatically covered his entire right arm. With difficulty, Ye Feng raised his right hand, aimed it at Yu Huawen, who had reached the edge of the pit, and pulled the trigger.
A flash of white light appeared, and Yu Huawen, who had been standing there ready to attack, vanished without a trace. Ye Feng knew that Yu Huawen, hit head-on, had been instantly reduced to ashes. Not to mention he still had two Yuan Ying stages—even if he had ten, they would all be destroyed by this single strike.
The power of the Photon Cannon was beyond doubt.
In the pit, Ye Feng adjusted the broken bones back into place before struggling to sit up. He spent tens of thousands of first-tier domain values from the Void Realm to buy a bottle of cell repair potion, which he poured into his mouth.
It had to be admitted that this substance had incredible effects on healing external injuries, even faster than those pills that required tens of thousands of second-tier domain values! Yet its price was a thousand times higher.
In less than ten seconds, all of Ye Feng’s wounds had healed completely, as if nothing had happened.
Ye Feng examined his own body and glanced at the spot where Yu Huawen had stood earlier—even his storage ring had been reduced to ashes by that strike. He shook his head helplessly; he had thought he could plunder something, but now it seemed all efforts were in vain. With nothing unusual happening, he headed toward the room where Wu Dao and the others were detained.
After pressing the button labeled “OPEN” outside the room, Ye Feng pushed open the heavy stone door. He called out to Wu Dao and the others, “You can go now!”
Wu Dao and the others stared in confusion at the suddenly open stone door, but no one came in. Just moments ago, someone had shouted that they could leave. They thought the voice was just an illusion.
“That voice… it seemed to be Ye Feng’s?” Kong Xu asked doubtfully.
“It sounds a bit like it!” Wu Dao agreed after hearing Kong Xu’s comment, thinking it might indeed be Ye Feng’s voice.
Dracula ignored the two of them and walked straight to the door, scanning the surroundings. Finding no signs of movement, he turned around and said, “No one here!”
“A trap?” Kong Xu wondered.
“Is that necessary? You saw that man in black too—he’s at the Divination Stage and could easily kill us without any effort. If he wanted to kill us, he would just close the door of this small room and attack us directly.” Dracula retorted. “If we don’t escape now, once someone notices, we’ll have no chance!”
Without waiting for the two behind him, he rushed outside. Seeing Dracula had left, Kong Xu and Wu Dao hurried after him.
The three of them fled and saw the corpses scattered everywhere, which filled them with fear. They didn’t dare stay long. Two of those corpses belonged to the two members of the group that had tried to capture them—both of them were strong individuals at the Soul Exit Stage.
After fleeing quickly from the luxurious mansion, the three stopped on a shaded path.
“What exactly happened just now? It seems everyone in that mansion was killed…” Wu Dao looked at Kong Xu and Dracula in confusion.
“Don’t look at me. Although I got out before you, I saw the same thing as you. When I came out, I didn’t see a single living person!” Dracula also felt frightened now that he remembered.
“It seems those people were all killed with a single strike—their dantians and yuanyings were shattered! The cause of death appears to be the same…” Kuangxu said, glancing at the causes of death casually as he passed by, somewhat uncertain, as he couldn’t be sure if there were any other fatal wounds on those people besides their dantians.
“Could it be Ye Feng who did this?” Wudao asked doubtfully.
“Possible. The killer’s method is very clean, just like him—preferring to kill with one strike,” Kuangxu nodded.
“No way. Ye Feng is only at the middle stage of Yuanying. Those who died were all strong beings at the Qiaochu stage. Don’t forget, there were two corpses together earlier, clearly killed at the same time. Though Ye Feng is strong, he’s not that powerful!” Dracula said with a skeptical expression.
“He was already able to capture a late-stage Yuanying magical beast in just two strikes during his Jindan stage. Do you think it’s difficult for him to kill Qiaochu-stage strongmen now that he’s reached the middle stage of Yuanying?” Kuangxu retorted.
Kuangxu and Wudao, who had seen Ye Feng in action, didn’t doubt his strength. However, what puzzled them was that the man in black at the Fenshen stage hadn’t shown up. Though they trusted Ye Feng, they didn’t think he could kill a Fenshen-stage strongman.
Not long after everyone left, a figure suddenly appeared above the mansion and slowly descended.
It was the Tribulation-stage elder who had bought the Immortal Grass. He muttered to himself, “What exactly was that strange energy just now? Its attack power was comparable to the early stage of Hebi… Are there such experts on this planet?”
He carefully examined the corpses at the scene. “Ten people at the Qiaochu stage—almost all died in the same way: their dantians and yuanyings were directly shattered…”
When he reached the door of the study, he stopped again. “That special energy seems to have come from here…”
Pushing open the study door, he saw utter chaos inside. There was a hole in the wall, and the adjacent room also had a deep pit.
In the pit, a pool of terrifying blood indicated that the person who had lain there must have been seriously injured. Yet there wasn’t a single corpse on the scene, which puzzled the elder. “What exactly happened here?”
