Chapter 12: You Kidnap, I Rob

At that moment, a dramatic scene was unfolding in an apartment in City H. In the living room, several men were sitting with their legs crossed, some cracking sunflower seeds, some watching TV, some drinking alcohol, and some humming tunes. They were discussing what the young man they had kidnapped might be doing in the room right now. In their minds, the young man must have confessed everything after meeting their boss. But they had no idea that what was happening in the room was completely different from what they had imagined.
“You…” Qing Lang looked at Ye Feng with a mix of pain and shock.
“What’s wrong with me? Do you think only you can kidnap people? Can’t I rob them too?” Ye Feng’s smile grew wider. “Don’t look at me like that. I only rob for money, not for sex.”
Seeing no reaction from Qing Lang, Ye Feng increased the pressure. “If you don’t give me a satisfactory answer soon, your arm will be broken.”
“Money… money…” Qing Lang managed to squeeze out those two words before feeling slightly less pain in his numb arm.
“Then I’ll need you to take me to get it.” Ye Feng turned Qing Lang around, grabbed his neck with his left hand, and searched his body. He pulled out a Sig Sauer pistol from his jacket pocket.
“Nice gear! Sig Sauer, 9mm caliber—this is a gun meant for military and police use.” Ye Feng, who had some knowledge of firearms, adjusted it, disengaged the safety, and pressed the barrel against the man’s right temple.
Qing Lang broke into a cold sweat. He never expected Ye Feng to know something about firearms. “Is this young man a killer? No wonder Brother Long…” He, who had still hoped to turn things around, suddenly became subdued.
“You… take whatever you want. I’ll… take you there right away…”
Ye Feng looked at Qing Lang, who had suddenly become cooperative, and nodded in satisfaction.
“But you must promise not to harm me or my brothers… We’re just trying to make a living…” Qing Lang put forward his conditions.
“Since you’re just trying to make a living, then tell me—who’s your boss?” Ye Feng wanted further confirmation.
“It’s Pearl. She leads a huge gang that has taken over several criminal organizations in City H. Pearl is a minor leader within that group and the one in charge of this operation. We small gangs are just tasked with running errands…”

“What’s that major force? What’s Pearl’s mission here this time?” Ye Feng frowned deeply. He knew that Pearl’s purpose for coming to City H this time was definitely not simple.
“I only know that Pearl came here to deal with Brother Long. I don’t know anything else… We’re just at the outermost level… We don’t know the core details…”
“That’s strange then. Why did Pearl ask you to capture me? Acting rashly without knowing the other party’s intentions will only disrupt the current balance.” Ye Feng felt this wasn’t something a woman like Pearl would do. From their first encounter, he knew she was very calculating.
“That was… my idea. She asked me to keep an eye on you, but I thought it would be better to just capture you and ask directly…” Qing Lang looked somewhat embarrassed.
“No wonder…” Ye Feng shook his head helplessly. “After we leave, tell your men to back off. You must have seen my skills by now. I guarantee that if your men really attack, not one of them will survive. It’s a shame I thought I could meet that woman, so I deliberately let you capture me…”
“I understand, I understand…” Qing Lang was now as obedient as an innocent Pleasant Goat.
When Ye Feng appeared in front of Xiao Liu and the others with a gun pointed at Qing Lang’s head, they were stunned for a long time.
“Put down your weapons!” Qing Lang shouted at them. “He’s a professional assassin! He’ll die!”
The others were stunned for a moment before immediately dropping their weapons and watching Ye Feng from afar with fear in their eyes.
“Don’t worry. Once I get what I want, I’ll leave right away and release your boss too.” Ye Feng smiled. He finally understood why the hostage had been so obedient—thinking he was a professional assassin made things much easier.
“You guys, clean up that business car and move all the valuable items into it.” Ye Feng pointed the gun at the few people standing there, looking dazed.
“Huh?” They looked at Ye Feng and Qing Lang, whose head was being held by the gun, in confusion.
“You idiots! Have you never seen a robbery? This is a robbery!!!” Qing Lang shouted at them when they didn’t react immediately.
Only then did they realize what was happening. They rushed over and threw all the clutter out of the business car, then hurried into a master bedroom to carry various items onto the car.

“Boss, what’s the safe password?” Seeing that most of the valuable items had been taken, Da Sha turned to look at the Green Wolf in Ye Feng’s hands and shouted at him.
“123, 321, 1234567” The Green Wolf helplessly lowered his head, heartbroken…
“You guys are quite interesting!” Ye Feng said happily.
Watching Da Sha empty the safe of everything, Ye Feng’s smile grew even wider, while the Green Wolf was on the verge of crying…
“Boss, we’re done!” After turning the master bedroom into a mess, there was really nothing more valuable left.
“Damn it! I’ve taken everything mine—where are your stuffs?” The Green Wolf couldn’t help but curse loudly.
Ye Feng could hardly hold back his laughter; these clowns had gathered together.
“Hurry up and take it all out! Is my life more important or your junk?” The Green Wolf roared at them.
Unwillingly, the others went into the other rooms, with only Liu Zi staying put, looking hesitant.
“Liu Zi, what are you doing?” Da Sha, not seeing Liu Zi for a while, called out to him, “Hurry up! Otherwise, the boss will die.”
Liu Zi ignored him and reached for the red string around his neck, removing it. At the end of the string was a crystal-clear jade stone, emitting a scorching golden light in Ye Feng’s eyes—so bright it was almost blinding.
“The people at the orphanage said it was put around my neck from the start. It might be the only thing my parents left me. I searched for them for years but never found them. At twelve, I left the orphanage on my own and met the boss; I’ve been with him for six years. I don’t know what parental love is like, but I’ve always regarded him as my father, even though he’s only ten years older than me… I heard from the boss that you like this thing. I’m giving it to you, begging you not to kill the boss… I know professional killers don’t leave witnesses alive… The boss can promise not to reveal your secret…” Tears streamed down Liu Zi’s face as he knelt on the ground, “Please…”
“Little Liu Zi…” The Green Wolf’s eyes also filled with tears…
Ye Feng slowly closed his eyes and shook his head heavily. “Take it back! It’s time for me to go!”
Letting go of the Green Wolf, Ye Feng walked over to Liu Zi and pulled him up…
“No…” A weak voice came from behind—the Green Wolf thought Ye Feng was about to hurt Liu Zi.

Ye Feng leaned close to Liu Zi’s ear, “Strive to become stronger. Only the strong can protect what they want. Begging for others’ charity is the behavior of the weak…” After saying that, he passed by Liu Zi, got into the car, closed the door, and started the engine. Then he turned to look at Qing Lang, who had a somewhat dazed expression, “Your hand is just a simple fracture. Go to the hospital right away! Also, if that woman finds out about today’s incident, you should know the consequences. I suggest you find a new employer… Brother Long might like Little Liu Zi… Um, as for me, I don’t want more people to know…” With that, he drove away with the load, leaving behind everyone in a dazed state…
