Chapter 128: The Transport Gate

Lin Dong glanced at Liu Hao and waved, saying, “Alright, go outside for a while. I need to set up the formation!”
Liu Hao quickly nodded and dashed off, his footsteps echoing as he left the secret room in no time, closing the wooden door behind him.
Lin Dong didn’t keep many secrets from Liu Hao and his group, but the origin of the Transport Gate had to be kept hidden from them—it simply couldn’t be explained otherwise.
As for the so-called formation, Lin Dong naturally didn’t know how to create it. He activated the inn system, opened the branch, and the second attribute was the Transport Gate. After silently setting it, a system prompt appeared immediately.
Ding: Please select the location for the Transport Gate.
Lin Dong stared at the wooden door and silently made his choice.
Ding: Congratulations on your successful selection.
Lin Dong then opened the Transport Gate attribute of the branch and set it to lead directly to the main inn.
Once everything was ready, Lin Dong stepped forward, pulled out the iron bolt on the door, and pulled it slightly inward. A faint light spilled out from outside. Taking another step inside revealed a simple room.
This room was exactly Lin Dong’s room in Xilan City.
The Lin’s Inn in Xilan City didn’t have any secret rooms. When Lin Dong arrived, he had a wooden door installed in his room and set it up as a Transport Gate.
Returning to the stone chamber, he closed the wooden door and sat down to cultivate for a full cycle before going up to call Liu Hao down.
“Open the door and take a look!” Lin Dong pointed at the door.
Liu Hao, confused, pulled out the bolt and opened the door. Instantly, he stood frozen like a stunned goose.
After a long while, Liu Hao hurriedly turned around and saw that Lin Dong was still there. He sighed in relief and stammered, “Owner, what’s going on?”
“Have you heard of a teleportation array?” Lin Dong asked with a smile.
Liu Hao scratched his head, seeming to recall hearing of it, yet also not being sure.
“It’s a ninth-tier spiritual array that can transport people thousands of miles in an instant. The formation I just set up is similar to a teleportation array, but teleportation arrays are extremely complicated. Mine is much simpler,” Lin Dong explained.
Lin Dong had asked Old Ding about such arrays, and they indeed existed. However, only ninth-tier spiritual array masters could create them, and each transmission required a huge amount of spiritual stones.
Liu Hao was astonished and was now 99% convinced.
Such a miraculous thing—even the experienced Old Ding could only explain it through a teleportation array. At most, he might doubt how Lin Dong could create a ninth-tier spiritual array in less than an hour.

“This teleportation gate leads to my room in Xilan City. If there’s an urgent matter requiring me to go there in the future, I can use this gate,” Lin Dong said seriously. “Remember, nothing about the teleportation gate must be leaked.”

Liu Hao swallowed hard and nodded firmly. Though somewhat uneasy, he also felt a hint of joy. The fact that he was informed of such a secret meant the shopkeeper clearly didn’t consider him an outsider.

“I still have some matters to attend to in Xilan City. You go back first!” Lin Dong waved his hand.

“Then I’ll head up first. If the shopkeeper needs anything, just call for me,” Liu Hao replied quickly.

After Liu Hao left the stone chamber, Lin Dong entered the room again. The door wasn’t locked. Upon opening it, he saw no one in the courtyard; the staff were clearly busy in the main hall.

Going to the west side, Lin Dong knocked on the door of the room where the disciples of the Gu Huan Sect practiced. After a moment, Jiang Zhen opened the door. Seeing Lin Dong, he was slightly surprised and said, “Shopkeeper Lin, weren’t you going to Qiufeng City?”

“I remembered something on the way and turned back,” Lin Dong smiled. “Is Sect Master Xiao here?”

A rare smile appeared on Jiang Zhen’s dark face. “Shopkeeper Lin, you’ve come at just the right time. The sect master just returned from the Gu Huan Sect this morning.”

“It’s better to come at the right time than early!” Lin Dong was pleased, as he could save the time of making another trip to the Gu Huan Sect.

“Shopkeeper Lin, please wait a moment. I’ll go invite the sect master right away.”

Jiang Zhen left, and soon, Xiao Tianchi rushed over. Seeing that Lin Dong didn’t seem to have encountered any danger on the journey, he felt much relieved.

After inviting Xiao Tianchi to the courtyard, Lin Dong shared his concerns. Without any surprise, Xiao Tianchi immediately agreed to accompany him to Qiufeng City and follow Yang family around under the pretext of worrying about Tianhao.

Taking out the wooden box containing the green spiritual fruits, Lin Dong handed it to Xiao Tianchi. “Sect Master Xiao, these are two spiritual fruits given by the Yang family to Tianhao. They’re said to aid in cultivation. I’d like you to help determine their rank and see if they can be turned into pills with better medicinal effects.”

“The Yang family is quite generous!” Xiao Tianchi, who didn’t have a good impression of the Yang family, sneered coldly before taking the box.

Taking out the spiritual fruits, his casual gaze gradually turned serious. After a long while, seeing that Xiao Tianchi remained frowning and silent, Lin Dong couldn’t help but call out, “Sect Master Xiao…”

Xiao Tianchi seemed to wake up from a dream. With an awkward smile, he put the spiritual fruits back into the box and said with a wry smile, “Shopkeeper Lin, based on the energy contained in these fruits, they should be around rank five. But no matter how hard I try to recall, I can’t remember seeing them mentioned in any ancient texts.”

“Even Master Xiao doesn’t know?” Lin Dong was surprised. Although the Gu Huan Sect was a sect focused on artifact refinement, it also had many ancient texts documenting spiritual materials and beasts. If even Xiao Tianchi didn’t recognize it, this spiritual fruit must be extremely rare.
Xiao Tianchi shook his head helplessly.
“It’s okay. There will be a time when someone knows.” Lin Dong thought of Old Ding and decided not to ask Xiao Tianchi to take the spiritual fruit to someone who knew about it right away.
Though Xiao Tianchi was Tianhao’s master, in Lin Dong’s eyes, he wasn’t yet trustworthy enough to be involved in matters related to the transportation gate. They agreed that Xiao Tianchi would set off first, while Lin Dong would stay at the inn to handle some matters before joining him. After sending Xiao Tianchi back to his room, Lin Dong immediately went to find Wang Liu Zi.
After asking a few questions about Old Ding, Lin Dong was almost certain that the middle-aged man they met last time was Yun Cangqiong, who had come to treat Old Ding’s injuries. Fortunately, although Yun Cangqiong was confident he could cure Old Ding, he lacked several spiritual materials of the eighth or ninth rank needed to make pills. He had only used a few pills that provided temporary relief rather than a permanent cure, then left to search for the necessary materials.
This meant that the super mission wasn’t completely futile; there was still a good chance.
Taking Wang Liu Zi and the others into the room, they were utterly amazed by the wonder of the transportation gate. But having been with Lin Dong for so long, they had grown accustomed to such things. After learning it was a ninth-tier teleportation array, aside from marveling at the shopkeeper’s omnipotence, they didn’t have any other thoughts.
To save face for Yang Ling, they had to eat at the Yang family for a few days in a row. With noon approaching, after giving a few instructions to Wang Liu Zi and the others, Lin Dong rushed back to Old Ding’s room.
Seeing Lin Dong, Old Ding felt awkward. It was only after Yun Cangqiong left that he remembered he had intended to persistently ask for one or two Reverse Meridian Pills. But… he had been too focused on saving his life and forgotten about it.
If Yun Cangqiong couldn’t find the necessary materials by the deadline, then with his death, there would be no hope for the Reverse Meridian Pills either.
To Old Ding’s relief, although Lin Dong congratulated him as soon as he entered, clearly aware that Yun Cangqiong had been there, he didn’t mention the Reverse Meridian Pills, probably having forgotten temporarily as well.
Since Lin Dong had forgotten too, Old Ding wasn’t foolish enough to bring it up himself.
After learning Lin Dong’s purpose, to make him leave quickly, Old Ding was unusually attentive. When he took out the wooden box, he even took the time to pour him a glass of wine personally.
To prevent Lin Dong from suddenly remembering the Reverse Meridian Pills, Old Ding pretended to frown, deliberately drawing his attention to his own face before opening the box.
Glancing down at the spiritual fruit in the box, his furrowed brows suddenly froze.

“Blue Green Fruit!”
