Chapter 006: Umgah’s Scroll
Seeming to sense something, Randy suddenly said, “UrBaras, what are you doing here?”
At Randy’s words, a night elf clad in black appeared before everyone. This night elf was none other than UrBaras.
“The envoy is worried about you. He sent me to check on you,” the top expert among the night elves said, clearly displeased upon hearing Randy’s words.
The night elf race excelled at assassinations and surprise attacks. According to UrBaras’s plan, they should remain hidden and launch a sudden strike. But with Randy’s interruption, UrBaras’s plan was ruined—no wonder he was upset.
“Haha, Randy. I wondered why you were so arrogant. So you had hidden troops after all,” Du Fan said nonchalantly, spinning the Star-Picking Tool in his hand as he addressed Randy. “When you’re not good enough, you just call for help?”
“What did you say?” Randy glared at Du Fan, slowly gathering the power of his domain.
While gathering this power, Randy also turned to UrBaras and shouted, “UrBaras! Step aside! I don’t need your help. Watch how I deal with this kid, Du Fan!”
As Randy built up his combat energy, Du Fan already sensed his movements and quickly activated his own domain power to defend against his attack.
Feeling the rising intensity from both sides, UrBaras stepped aside, as he still needed to listen to what Randy had to say.
At that moment, both men’s energy and momentum reached their peak.
Looking at Du Fan, Randy suddenly gave a strange smile. That smile made Du Fan feel a chill.
“Du Fan, you’re about to die!” Randy suddenly shouted, unleashing the energy gathered in his palm at Du Fan!
Seeing Randy’s attack, Du Fan immediately raised his hands, sending a powerful counterattack toward Randy.
Just then, UrBaras, who had been standing aside, suddenly moved swiftly and threw something into the space between the two fighters!
Boom…
A loud explosion sounded, followed by another! With that explosion, the object UrBaras had thrown exploded as well!
The energy released by the explosion surged violently toward Du Fan, like a raging ocean!
The energy generated by the explosion was countless times more intense than the fireball spell Randy had just cast. The ground around was torn apart by the violent energy, creating a huge hole. Du Fan could clearly feel that his absolute protection field was being depleted rapidly in the midst of that fierce explosion!
Immediately afterward, Du Fan was flung several meters away and crashed hard against the wall of the hole. Bashah was also sent flying due to the energy and collapsed on the ground in pain. The other three were caught off guard and knocked unconscious by the explosion.
“Cough.” Du Fan, lying on the ground, coughed twice before struggling to stand up. Seeing Randy intact before him, he couldn’t help but feel admiration. He hadn’t expected Randy, nor Ulbas, to have such capabilities.
“Du Fan, you should be satisfied now!” Randy said as he walked slowly toward Du Fan, his hands emitting continuous flashes of energy. “I never thought! Haha, you actually have something like that!”
Watching Randy approach, Du Fan kept thinking while speaking to him, “Hmph, you should consider yourselves lucky.”
“Hmph, you should feel honored,” Randy said coldly. “That thing just now was a scroll personally sealed by Umaga. That scroll equals the full power of a mid-tier god!”
“Umaga? What’s that?” Du Fan asked, casually chatting with Randy while gathering energy.
“Of course you don’t know. Umaga is a deity of the dark faction! The scroll he sealed represents the full power of a mid-tier god!” Randy patiently explained in response to Du Fan’s question.
“Mid-tier god!” Hearing Randy’s words, Du Fan felt somewhat relieved.
Being able to withstand an ultra-large forbidden curse and the full power of a mid-tier god with the strength of his field meant that Du Fan’s resistance was far beyond that of a lower-tier god!
There was a clear example right before their eyes—Bashah and Rob both had godly powers, yet they were both knocked unconscious by the force just now.
“Hmph.” With a sinister expression, Randy slowly walked toward Du Fan, a ball of flame already forming in his hand. As he stepped closer, a wisp of black mist slowly appeared around Du Fan.
The black mist grew larger around Du Fan, and soon, a figure clad in black stood before everyone, saying coldly, “Get lost.”
“Get lost?” Randy seemed to hear the funniest joke in the world. He looked at the man in black with interest and sneered, “What are you, anyway?”
“Do I need to say it a second time?” The man in black glanced back at Du Fan, who was already unconscious, and at Bashah not far away. Shaking his neck, he laughed. Suddenly, he turned to Ulbas and said, “Ulbas, have you forgotten about Lambowan?”
“Lambowan?” Ulbas, who had also been laughing, had his pupils shrink sharply upon hearing those words. He glared fiercely at the man in black in front of him and said, “Elder Randy, let’s go.”
Hearing Ulbas’s words, Randy could only reluctantly extinguish the flame in his hand and follow Ulbas reluctantly.
“You guys are too careless.” The man in black snapped his fingers into the air. Several strands of dark mist drifted from his fingertips and slowly settled on Bashah, Du Fan, and the others. In an instant, all five of them disappeared from that spot.
Drip… drip!
Water from the rock walls dripped onto Du Fan’s face. It was unclear how much time had passed, but Du Fan was awakened by the cold spring water.
“Where am I?” Du Fan opened his eyes and looked around. It was a cave, with countless stalactites above. The water dripped down from those stalactites. Not far away was a slightly larger pool. If he guessed correctly, that must be the exit of the cave. The four powerful figures beside him lay quietly as well.
Du Fan stood up in confusion. He had been here for so long yet hadn’t seen a trace of Randy or Ulbas.
“Is anyone here? Is anyone there?” Du Fan called out while sitting down. After all, the cave wasn’t very large, and everything could be seen with the naked eye.
“You’re awake?” Hearing Du Fan’s voice, a young girl slowly stepped out from the darkness not far from him. She looked at Du Fan with some surprise.
“Who are you?” Du Fan looked at the young girl in confusion and asked hesitantly, “Where is this?”
“This is the Land Tiger tribe,” the young girl said with a faint smile as she looked at Du Fan, who had now fully awakened. “I saw you collapse near the Hell Valley. How did you get injured?”
“It was just an accident,” Du Fan replied shyly after hearing her question. He then looked up at the stalactites above and said, “I think this environment isn’t suitable for magical beasts like you. Why would you live here?”
Hearing Du Fan’s words, the young girl smiled faintly and said, “Humans haven’t appeared in the underground world for a long time. If they really brought you to our tribe, you’d probably already be torn apart and turned into soup by now. How could you possibly talk to me so casually here?”
Roar…
The pond trembled violently, and along with the roar, a tiger covered in green light rose from the water. What made it different was that this tiger had fangs a foot long, patterns that spread regularly from its head, and two fist-sized eyes glowing green as it stared at Du Fan and the young girl.
“Is this the Earth Tiger?” Du Fan looked at the Earth Tiger in front of him, feeling puzzled. Logically, tiger-type magical beasts shouldn’t have such long fangs, let alone be part of a race.
“That’s right,” the young girl said proudly, smiling faintly at Du Fan before leaping onto the tiger’s head. She said to it calmly, “This is my father, the leader of the Earth Tiger clan, Lambowan.”
“Hello.”
A deep male voice rang directly in Du Fan’s ear. Du Fan looked at Lambowan in confusion, feeling somewhat shocked.
“That technique just now was probably sound condensation into a line, right?” Du Fan thoughtfully stared at the Earth Tiger and asked, “Uncle, your control over sound is even better than that of humans.”
“Yes,” Lambowan nodded at Du Fan before transmitting his voice, “It must be Xin who brought you here. It seems Xin has a good impression of you.”
Du Fan looked at Lambowan in disbelief. He never expected magical beasts to be able to express their feelings so directly. Yet it was happening right before his eyes, leaving him caught off guard.
“Haha,” Lambowan glanced at the young girl on his head and smiled at the flustered Du Fan, saying, “That’s how we magical beasts are—we express our feelings directly, unlike you humans who hide them.”
“Is that so?” Du Fan shook his head helplessly and said to Lambowan, “I didn’t intend to intrude on your territory. Your daughter pulled me in.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Lambowan shook his head at Du Fan and transmitted his voice, “I see your abilities are stronger than those of ordinary domain masters. If I’m not mistaken, you must be carrying a divine artifact right now.”
Du Fan stared at Lambovan in shock, never expecting this magical beast to possess such incredible powers—capable of easily seeing through even the divine artifacts he kept in his storage ring. Unless it was a god-tier magical beast, it would be impossible to have such abilities.
“Indeed, I do possess a divine artifact,” Du Fan replied honestly when Lambovan asked.
“Mm, it’s quite a fine divine artifact,” Lambovan nodded.
Suddenly, Du Fan felt dizzy again. Amidst Lambovan and Xin Er’s cries of alarm, he lost consciousness once more.
……
“He’s too badly injured.”
“Yes, his internal organs have basically been shattered by combat energy.”
Two very faint female voices began talking on Du Fan’s left. The originally unconscious Du Fan was awakened by these voices.
“What place is this?”
Du Fan struggled to open his eyes. What he saw was a very clean bedroom. Two young girls in white robes were sitting by the bed, looking at him.
“How did you wake up?” The older girl, upon seeing Du Fan awake, walked over unhappily and covered him with a blanket.
“How did I end up here?” Du Fan gradually fell into deep thought. Scenes from the previous battle flashed before his eyes. It seemed he remembered the elder of the Land Rover clan announcing his victory, after which he had passed out from relaxation.
“Don’t move around,” the girl said slowly, looking at Du Fan. “You probably won’t be able to use your domain power for a while.”
