Chapter 009: Confrontation
Count Wadeber heard Du Fan’s words and sneered. With a wave of his hand, the powerful warriors behind him rushed forward along with Du Fan and his group.
“Du Fan, back then, I was only at level nine. You humiliated me like that. Now, let me show you the ultimate skill of our Lionheart Family!” Randy glared coldly at Du Fan, swinging his right fist in an instant, unleashing immense domain power that tore through layers of space.
Feeling Randy’s domain power, even Du Fan was surprised for a moment. But this surprise didn’t last long. He simply stretched out his right palm and effortlessly blocked Randy’s fist, causing the domain power in it to vanish instantly.
“Your fist is too weak.”
Du Fan snorted. Then, he formed his left hand into a blade and slashed sharply at Randy’s abdomen, while his right foot kicked at Randy’s weak point at the same time.
“Clang!” A metallic sound rang out from Randy’s body. Du Fan’s right foot trembled inexplicably as he stared at Randy in shock. He then retracted his left hand from the blade form and brought it back behind his back.
“Du Fan, you really underestimated me.” Randy arrogantly placed his hand on his knee and tore it open, revealing a set of armor on his body. Not only that, but the armor was adorned with the image of an unknown magical beast.
Just from the design of this armor, it was clear that Duke Wadeber must have invested heavily. Although it might not be as good as a divine artifact, it was certainly among the best armor below that level.
Seeing Du Fan’s reaction, Randy said disdainfully, “Country boy, it seems you don’t know. This armor is made from the fur of an underground magical beast—the Green Wolf. And the Green Wolf I chose is a sacred-grade magical beast. With a soul imprint on it, I doubt you can hurt me.”
After speaking, Randy shook his body forcefully, and the strange magical beast on the armor blinked its eyes eerily. The aura of a sacred-grade magical beast slowly spread out.
“Look at you—neither human nor beast. How dare you speak to me like this?” Du Fan said with a playful smile as he stared at Randy.
“Whoosh!” A sharp sound rushed past Du Fan’s ear. He tilted his head slightly and effortlessly dodged the attack, but his preparation was disrupted. When he opened his eyes, he saw the night elf Ulbas holding a strangely shaped weapon in his hand.
The weapon had a blade-like shape on top and another in the opposite direction below, with only a handle in the middle. It resembled the boomerang Du Fan had seen in his past life; it seemed this was what had interrupted Du Fan’s preparations just now.
Meanwhile, the battle on the other side was even more intense than Du Fan’s. At this point, Rob and Hua Mus also began fighting, constantly clashing their domain powers. Yet, thanks to Rob’s strength, he handled Hua Mus, who only possessed domain power, with ease.
“I hate spiders the most in this life,” Rob roared. He threw a punch infused with divine power and domain power straight at Hua Mus’s chest, without the slightest hesitation. Then another punch followed, with a barrage of punches thrown at Hua Mus relentlessly, without pause.
For ten full minutes, Hua Mus was clearly taking continuous hits. That was its misfortune—had it faced Rob instead of Du Fan, it might not have been beaten so badly.
“You’re… done!” Rob said slowly, emphasizing each word. His right hand didn’t move, but the divine power within it was terrifying. The space around Rob tore apart layer by layer.
“Boom!” As the space kept tearing, a massive fist slammed down at Hua Mus. Even before being hit, Hua Mus was frozen in place by the sheer force. Even Du Fan would likely be severely injured, if not killed, by such a punch.
“Buzz!” A faint sound wave emanated from Hua Mus’s mouth. At the same time, thousands of small yellow mounds suddenly appeared in the soil on the ground. The shadows formed by the sunlight blocked by these mounds gradually took on human shapes.
Spiders about one meter tall kept emerging from all the mounds, most of them at level four in strength. Meanwhile, all the shadows also turned into night elves, also around level four. Seeing thousands of night elves and spiders suddenly appear on the ground, the strong warriors on Du Fan’s side were momentarily stunned.
“All elf archers, prepare to fire!”
“All dwarves, prepare to attack!” Basha and Naixiu remained calm and began commanding their people. What started as a battle between humans now saw all the other races joining the war as well.
When the Night Elves and Spider-Man turned Count Wade’s army into a one-sided defeat, no one expected that at that very moment, all the dwarf and elf archers would also take action, making the battle even more intense than before.
“Hehe, Du Fan, you didn’t expect I had so many troops,” Count Wade said with great pride, looking at Du Fan before him while continuously channeling more energy into Basha. At that moment, Basha roared, raised his axe fiercely, and with immense domain power mixed with a hint of divine energy, swung it hard at Count Wade.
“Divine energy?” Feeling the terrifying energy on Basha’s axe, Count Wade’s pupils shrank sharply as he quickly retreated.
“Snap!” With a soft sound, Count Wade, who had been desperately retreating, suddenly widened his eyes. A delicate hand gently rested on the neck of the stronger opponent, and a pale face appeared beside him.
“You’re quite skilled, Count,” Du Fan said with a slight smile, increasing the pressure on Count Wade’s neck and adding calmly, “Today, you’ll die right here.”
“Hmph!” Count Wade snorted coldly, cursing Du Fan as a despicable scoundrel, while a strange red light flashed in his hand. A bizarre energy pushed Du Fan away.
“What?” Du Fan exclaimed, staring at Count Wade. He hadn’t expected this old man to have a hidden trump card. Judging by his senses, it must be some kind of armor, likely of a higher rank than Randi’s Green Wolf Armor.
“Rip!” Count Wade’s clothes tore apart, revealing armor emitting a strange red light. It continuously absorbed energy from the surroundings, making Count Wade even more powerful than before.
“Hm?” Du Fan was surprised as he observed Count Wade’s armor. It wasn’t purely defensive; it also had offensive capabilities, with a long spike protruding from his fist, looking particularly menacing.
“Du Fan, your opponent is me!” Randi suddenly shouted at Du Fan, then threw a punch in his direction.
“Slam!” With just a turn, Du Fan struck the other’s fist with his palm, unleashing his immense domain power. The force generated even affected the magical beasts on the ground significantly. At that moment, Moses, who was fighting against Ulbas, also raised his giant sword and swung at Ulbas. Although both were elves, neither showed any willingness to back down; instead, their attacks grew more fierce.
“Ulbas, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.” Moses retracted his giant sword, looking at Ulbas with a teasing gaze, while also casting a mocking look at the dark elf before him.
The greatest strength of the dark elves lay not in their combat power, but in their speed, their ability to hide in darkness, and their keen sense of detecting dangers around them. This was why they were so renowned.
Not every dark elf was necessarily a strong fighter, but they were undoubtedly excellent assassins. Many domain masters had been silently killed by dark elves simply for provoking them. Since Du Fan’s domain was powered by star energy, it wouldn’t enhance the dark elves’ abilities, but it would turn the day into night—thus undoubtedly helping the dark elves. As a result, Du Fan could only do nothing but worry, not even daring to use his Star-Removing Ruler.
Landy let out a loud shout and kicked fiercely at Du Fan, the sound of the kick cutting through the air, accompanied by immense domain power. Even Du Fan didn’t dare to easily block it. In an instant, Du Fan appeared 500 meters away, looking at Landy helplessly.
“Do you have any more powerful moves? Let’s settle this once and for all. Don’t you get tired from fighting like this? I’m already tired!” Du Fan waved his arm and taunted Landy, sticking out his finger. “If you’ve got the guts, come at me.”
“Hmph!” Landy snorted coldly, slowly spreading his arms. After chanting loudly a few times, a fireball the size of a human eye appeared in the air and shot toward Du Fan’s location.
“This fireball is definitely not weak.” At this moment, Du Fan also put aside his playful attitude and swung his arms with extreme seriousness. Meanwhile, a force of domain wrapped around the fireball like an unbreakable thread, forming a small network-like domain in just a few seconds. His soul power also expanded rapidly like a tide, with the domain power within him slowly condensing under the influence of star power.
“Absolute Domain, Soul!” It was only then that Du Fan unleashed his domain, but Randy’s fireball was already whizzing toward him…
As soon as Randy’s fireball reached Du Fan, Du Fan’s fist deflected its path. Immediately after, Du Fan threw another punch at Randy. In the sky, it was no longer possible to tell who was who; all that could be seen around them were streaks of fist shadows.
“Hmph!” Moses roared loudly. His great sword had already struck Ulbas’s shoulder, and a terrifying force of domain spread out instantly. But with just a slight effort, Ulbas disappeared from his spot.
“What?” Moses stared in disbelief at the empty sky before him. He had seen his sword strike Ulbas clearly just a moment ago, but in just one second, Ulbas had turned into a mere shadow.
At this point, Moses couldn’t help but admire the eerie abilities of the night elves. By relying on faint shadows under the intense sunlight, they could easily escape even in front of powerful domain users. If it were night, even the strongest warriors would find it difficult to fight against Ulbas—except for those at the divine level.
“Elder, what do you think of this Ulbas…” Naixiu also felt uneasy after witnessing what had just happened. If such terrifying energy belonged to an enemy of the nature elves, then in a direct confrontation, the nature elves would likely only serve as fodder for them.
