Chapter 005: The Old Man in Black Robes

“Boom!”
An extremely terrifying amount of energy erupted in the sky, spreading outward from Du Fan and Fisher as the center. Some soldiers with weaker strength died on the spot merely from coming into contact with this residual energy. Unfortunately, most of these soldiers were from Fisher’s Third Legion and Sacred Legion, with only a few being Du Fan’s elite troops.
Even Fisher himself might find it hard to believe that he had destroyed so many of his own warriors. If he knew about this, he would likely be furious.
Not far away from Du Fan and Fisher, Basha was also fighting against five cardinal archbishops. He swung his axe repeatedly, leaving the five archbishops in disarray, performing slightly worse than before.
“It seems Basha’s axe is no longer something an ordinary weapon can match—it’s probably beyond the level of a divine weapon,” Moses, standing beside Naixiu, observed in surprise.
Hearing Moses’s words, Naixiu finally realized that although she had managed to defeat two cardinal archbishops earlier, the remaining five were no easy opponents. She never expected Basha to be able to fight against them all by himself.
“Your Majesty, the Dwarf King, don’t you think helping Du Fan is siding with the evil?” one of the cardinal archbishops asked Basha slowly.
“Siding with the evil?” Basha scoffed disdainfully. “I think you’re nothing but trash. Fisher killed my younger brother’s parents—so he’s also killed my parents. Come at me, old man!”
With a roar, Basha’s veins bulged on his arms, and thick blood vessels as thick as his thumbs pulsed with blood—this was the power of a Dwarf King.
“Great Light God, please grant strength to Your people so that Your children may defeat the demons!” As one cardinal archbishop chanted, the remaining four also began to chant. It seemed the five archbishops still intended to use the Great Prophecy to deal with Dwarf King Basha.
At that moment, a woman’s hearty laughter echoed in the sky, accompanied by red and green arrows, plunging the hearts of the five cardinal archbishops into despair.

“Five archcardinals, have you forgotten about me? If you have, the consequences will be severe.” Naixiu looked at the five archcardinals not far away with great playfulness. Just moments ago, in a critical moment, Naixiu had used the Arrow of the Elven King. Although the Arrow of the Elven King was still easily manageable for those five elders, the situation was different now—these five archcardinals were facing King Bashar of the Dwarves. If the Great Prophecy Art was interrupted at this moment, the consequences would be obvious.

“Thank you, sister.” Bashar thanked Naixiu in the sky, then swung his massive axe toward the five archcardinals across from him.

Meanwhile, in the sky, two figures stared at each other. No one expected that Fische, who already possessed divine power, could only barely match Du Fan, with Du Fan having a slight advantage.

“How is this possible…” Fische stared in shock at Du Fan. He was well aware of Du Fan’s strength, but he still hadn’t expected to be repelled by some mysterious force every time they fought. Even his own divine power seemed unable to contend with this force.

Du Fan ignored Fische’s words. Instead, he slowly closed his eyes, spread his arms, and spoke in a deeply tempting voice, “Child, you no longer have a tomorrow. Are you willing to die for me?”

“I…” As Fische gradually fell under Du Fan’s influence, thousands of soldiers from Fische’s army on the ground also closed their eyes and fell under his control.

“Then go forever.” Du Fan softly emphasized those last words. At that moment, screams filled the battlefield, as Fische’s palm, imbued with divine power, moved step by step toward his own head.

“No, Regent King!” One of the archcardinals, ignoring Bashar’s attacks behind him, shouted frantically at Fische, who was about to commit suicide. But clearly, his cries were useless.

After Du Fan used the power of the stars, any place covered by that power became his domain. No matter who it was—even a god—Du Fan could easily kill them using the Great Prophecy Art if he wished.

“Well, die then.” Du Fan uttered those last two words as if relieved, then looked at Fischer with interest. At this moment, in Du Fan’s mind, watching his enemy commit suicide must have brought him greater satisfaction than killing him himself.
“Well, I disagree.” Fischer suddenly opened his eyes and stared at Du Fan calmly, the divine power in his hands gradually dissipating in the air. Seeing Du Fan’s surprised expression, Fischer slowly spoke, “The Great Prophecy Art—probably no one except me can use it better than I do, not even the Pope.”
Hearing Fischer’s words, the once one-sided battle instantly took on a new turn. All the soldiers of the Third Legion and the Holy Legion, as if reborn, launched a fierce counterattack against the Black Panther Knights before them. This was the power that a single word from a leader could bring.
“Heh.” Du Fan sneered at Fischer, speaking in a very calm tone, “Anyway, Fischer, you killed my parents. I will surely avenge them with blood!”
With a loud shout, Du Fan threw a fist wrapped in star power and domain power at Fischer. Fischer simply dodged it with a quick movement. But by then, Rob, who had regained his human form, struck Fischer from behind.
“Pfft!” Fischer spat out a mouthful of blood. Even though he possessed divine strength, being hit by a fist wrapped in divine power must have been painful.
“If the army demands my death, must I not die?” Rob snorted and then punched Fischer in the stomach, lifting him up like a chick and throwing him at Du Fan.
“Perfect!” Du Fan shouted, raising both hands, ready to eliminate Fischer with this strike. By eliminating Fischer, all of his troops would either be captured or wiped out by Du Fan’s forces.
At that moment, two gentle breezes appeared out of nowhere, slowly blowing toward Du Fan. Thanks to these breezes, Fischer not only avoided being hit by Du Fan but also landed steadily in the air.
“Floating Art?” Du Fan’s pupils contracted sharply. He hadn’t expected those two breezes to actually be the Holy Church’s Floating Art. Unless one was an expert in domains, ordinary people couldn’t easily accomplish such a thing.

As expected, Du Fan was not wrong—two old men in black appeared beside Fischer at that moment. One of them was treating Fischer, while the other stared at Du Fan.
“How is it? Xun, is the Regent in good condition now? Is he not in any life-threatening danger?” asked the old man facing Du Fan to the one treating Fischer.
Hearing his companion’s question, Xun stood up and looked at Rob and Du Fan with deep meaning, saying calmly, “Qian, it can be said that the two of us arrived just in time. Otherwise, our Regent would likely have already fallen victim to their poison.”
“Oh?” Qian looked at Rob thoughtfully, elegantly rolling up his sleeves before saying playfully, “It seems this is just a kid who has just reached the divine level. Xun, leave these two to me. You take good care of the Regent and help him regain his combat strength as soon as possible.”
Hearing Qian’s words, Rob tilted his head curiously and asked Du Fan, “Strange. Where do these two old men come from? The Holy Church doesn’t seem to have people in black robes, right? Could they be Fischer’s reinforcements?”
At that moment, Moses also flew over and said to Du Fan, “That old man across from us is extremely powerful. I think the three of us together might have a chance of winning.”
Hearing the words of the two beside him, Du Fan finally began to observe carefully the battle unfolding below. By then, Basha’s Black Panther Knights and Griffins had already defeated Fischer’s troops with overwhelming superiority. On the other side, Basha had successfully held off the five Archcardinals, while Naixiu kept shooting arrows every time an Archcardinal tried to cast a sacred spell.
Seeing the battle now under control, Du Fan began to study the old man in black before him—Qian. On the surface, Qian’s aura seemed very ethereal, almost illusory. If not for the feeling that he was real, the three of them might have thought they were seeing an illusion.
“Kid, I heard you’re quite powerful. How about we have a fight?” Qian looked at Du Fan with interest, gently extending his hand. Yet, the three of them didn’t sense any energy from his hand at all.

“Then I’d better obey,” Du Fan said, before firing wildly in the direction where Qian was. A gust of wind swept through as he kicked his left leg violently in that direction.
“Thwack!”
Qian seemed to block Du Fan’s kick with ease. Even after enduring such a fierce attack, he still smiled at Du Fan and said calmly, “It’s too light.”
“What? Too light?” Everyone present doubted their hearing. Du Fan was an absolute domain expert—his kick, combining domain power and star power, was one even divine-level figures like Fisher and Robb would likely hesitate to take. After all, Qian was currently inside Du Fan’s domain, able not only to block his kick but also mock him. Only then did everyone realize they must have seen a monster.
Du Fan retracted his leg, his face now turning purple. In just that brief exchange, he understood why Qian had said his kick was too light. Likely, his leg hadn’t even reached Qian before being blocked by Qian’s own domain power. That alone had reduced the force by half, and even a domain expert could easily handle the remaining half.
