Chapter 012: You’re a Spy

Walking on the streets of Bear City, the residents and soldiers there wore expressions of urgency and sorrow.

As Du Fan walked, a group of soldiers suddenly came toward him. When they reached his side, they stopped abruptly. The leader examined Du Fan carefully before shouting, “Spy!”

Although the Bear Duchy belonged to the Frozen Alliance, it was very close to the Gavin Empire. As a result, its clothing style was very similar to that of the Gavin Empire. His explanation made sense. Bear City housed hundreds of thousands of citizens from the Bear Duchy who had fled there to escape war.
“Do you have a Bear Certificate?” one soldier asked suddenly, staring at Du Fan’s eyes.
Hearing this, Du Fan was momentarily stunned. A Bear Certificate? What was that? Some kind of ID?
“Ahaha, see? I was in a hurry to go out on business and forgot to leave it where I stayed. How about you come with me to check?” Du Fan said with a smile.
“Arrest him!” the leading soldier shouted loudly upon hearing this.

As soon as the leader’s voice fell, the group of soldiers immediately moved to surround Du Fan. In no time, a dozen soldiers encircled him, pointing their weapons at him.
“Hey, it’s really here where it’s kept! If you don’t believe me, come with me and get it!” Du Fan shouted frantically as he saw so many people about to attack him.
“Damn you, little brat! Just by looking at your delicate appearance, I know you’re no good. Look at your soft, fair skin—how can the men of our Great Bear Kingdom look like you?” the leading soldier said loudly.
Hearing him speak so loudly, the other soldiers burst into laughter.
Du Fan was stunned by their laughter. It turned out these soldiers from the Bear Kingdom had targeted him just because he looked too delicate.
“Hey, it’s not my fault I look like this!” Du Fan shouted. “My parents wanted me to look this way—what can I do?”
“Brother, this guy is still so untrustworthy!” one of the soldiers laughed.
Suddenly, the laughing soldier pulled back his shirt, revealing a bare chest with a tattoo of a bear’s head!
“Hahaha! Kid, see this? This is the Bear Certificate of our Great Bear Kingdom! Our men get this tattoo when they turn two years old. It’s proof that they’re male citizens of our Great Bear Empire! Now you must give up, right? Hurry up and tie him up!” The soldier laughed triumphantly after pulling back his shirt.
Seeing this soldier, Du Fan felt mocked. Who would tattoo their identity right on their body? Probably only the countries in the Icebound Alliance would do such a thing!
Tattoos are one thing, but don’t mix them up with identity! Or, even if it’s proof, why call it a “Bear Certificate”? A certificate is just a document—who tattoos their documents on their bodies? Du Fan thought angrily.
“Tie him up! Tie this spy up!” Seeing Du Fan standing still, the leading soldier shouted loudly.
Hearing his command, the soldiers quickly grabbed thick ropes and wrapped them around Du Fan.

Du Fan managed to get those people to put ropes around their own necks! With a fierce shout, his internal energy dispersed, and the dozen or so soldiers around him were all killed by the shock!
With soldiers patrolling everywhere on the streets, the sight of someone suddenly killing a dozen soldiers immediately triggered alarms!
Soon, hundreds of soldiers surrounded him.

The one at the forefront was an old man with white hair. Though his hair was white, his face appeared to be in his forties. Yet his eyes carried a sense of weariness!

Amidst the astonished expressions of the surrounding soldiers, sparks suddenly appeared in front of the old man!
These sparks were the result of Du Fan’s energy colliding with the old man’s.
“The youngest son of the Green family, what is your name?” After exchanging blows without directly fighting, the old man asked politely.
“Du Fan,” Du Fan replied immediately upon hearing the question.
“Good, not bad. Reaching such a level at such a young age, Du Fan, you truly live up to being a descendant of the Green family,” said the old man, who hadn’t gained much from their secret clash.
“You’re not bad either. It seems your cultivation has also reached the level of a Domain Expert,” Du Fan said with a smile.
