Chapter 015: Ghost Crystal Stones
“We call them Ghost Crystal Stones. Classified by level, they can be divided into four grades: low, medium, high, and supreme,” the Ghost God explained.
Du Fan once again sensed something strange. The God of Food, the Sun God, and now the Ghost God—seemingly, once they started talking, they became very talkative, answering whatever was asked.
Could it really be like him, who, after tens of thousands of years of solitude, became extremely enthusiastic upon meeting people? But that didn’t make sense either. When his group first arrived, this Ghost God had been quite unfriendly to him, and moreover, his group had even hurt this Ghost God several times!
“How much energy is contained in a supreme-grade Ghost Crystal Stone?” Du Fan asked.
“Approximately, if I had a piece the size of my fist, it would hold about ten times the energy I currently possess,” the Ghost God replied, using himself as an example.
Ten times! That contained ten times the energy of a divine expert—even though this expert was only a low-level god, and still relatively weak among low-level gods. Yet, the fact that a fist-sized supreme-grade Ghost Crystal Stone could hold such immense energy was truly terrifying!
As far as Du Fan knew, magic crystals could only store energy, but this was the first time he had heard of a crystal that inherently carried such vast amounts of energy!
If he could obtain a few such Ghost Crystal Stones, he would have a huge advantage in battles in the future!
The energy stored in ten low-level gods would likely be enough for him to unleash many Space Ripping Slices!
“By the way, Ghost God, do you have any such Ghost Crystal Stones on you?” Du Fan suddenly asked.
“Things from hell cannot be taken out. Besides souls after death, no existence can enter hell. In other words, as far as I know, those Ghost Crystal Stones can only exist in hell and cannot be taken out,” the Ghost God explained.
“Then how did you get out?” Du Fan asked, looking at the Ghost God.
Since nothing from hell could be taken out, the Ghost God must also be an existence from hell. So how did he get out?
“I, I don’t know either. In hell, I was the first to become a god. After becoming a god, it was as if I was pressed down by some immense force. It’s strange—like a giant hand squeezing me. Once squeezed, I was flung along. By the time I thought I’d escaped, I realized everything around me had changed completely. I was already in the realm of gods. Moreover, the energy entities from hell turned into tangible forms in this realm,” said the ghost god in amazement.
“Strange, strange,” Du Fan suddenly remembered a question. “Since you couldn’t bring anything out of hell, did you arrive in the realm of gods without clothes?” Du Fan asked.
“Well, you guessed that right,” the ghost god said, blushing slightly.
Seeing the ghost god’s blush, Du Fan smiled faintly and didn’t press further on the topic.
But in his heart, the ghost god recalled those painful memories!
After being squeezed by that giant hand into the realm of gods, he ended up by a small lake. Unluckily, a group of goddesses were bathing there! And those goddesses happened to be servants of some supreme god!
So, as soon as the ghost god arrived in the realm of gods, before he could even enjoy himself, he was thrown into a divine prison! If it weren’t for later being revealed that he came from hell and possessed some special abilities, he might have spent his entire life in that prison!
Just as he was released, he encountered an era of war among the gods. In the eyes of the ghost god, this realm of gods was even more chaotic and insane than hell!
In hell, he didn’t have to be as cautious or fearful as he was in the realm of gods!
In hell, he was, after all, a dominant force and one of the top experts!
It was only in the realm of gods that the ghost god realized he was nothing anymore! His courage grew weaker and weaker. Eventually, after the war among the gods ended, he volunteered to guard their tombs!
You see, guarding the tombs of the gods was a very monotonous task. Most gods in the realm of gods avoided it, but the ghost god rushed to take on the job!
Although it was dull and lonely here, it was safe!
That was the ghost god’s reasoning for entering the tombs of the gods!
But today, this being who had been safe for tens of thousands of years finally felt danger once again.
“Logically speaking, you should be the first to become a god in hell—your talents must be extraordinary. How come you’re still just a low-level god?” Du Fan asked again in confusion.
“Actually, alas, most people are wrong,” the ghost god sighed. “My talent is actually quite ordinary. It took me hundreds of thousands of years to become a god. My talent is really mediocre,” he said seriously.
“I was just very careful, extremely careful. You have to know that in hell, there are no rules, no laws—everything is chaotic! Whoever has the stronger fists becomes the boss! There are countless people in hell with greater talents than mine! But why did only I make it to the final step? It’s because I was careful and cautious!” At this point, the ghost god felt a sense of pride.
Indeed, he had reason to be proud! He was the first—and so far, the only—to become a god in hell!
Wasn’t that enough to be proud of? Of course it was!
“I never do anything unless I’m 100% sure. That’s how, after hundreds of thousands of years of effort, I finally made it to the final step. How many strong ones perished in the battles of hell? Only I made it this far!” the ghost god suddenly shouted.
“But you were careless today,” Du Fan said, smiling mischievously.
“You!” Seeing Du Fan’s reaction, the ghost god suddenly became alert again.
“What about me? I just want to ask—do we get to go through, or not?!” Du Fan shouted loudly.
Hearing this, the ghost god quickly covered himself with his black robe again!
Seeing that he was about to use his mist formation once more, Du Fan rushed forward and swung Frostfall Snow fiercely at the black robe!
Frostfall Snow was infused with massive amounts of light combat energy! As soon as gray mist began to rise from the ghost god’s robe, Frostfall Snow struck it!
The moment the light combat energy touched the black robe, flames immediately erupted!
The gray mist never appeared again!
“You still want to run! You still want to run!” Du Fan shouted as he continued to slash at the robe!
The robe scattered to the sides, and the ghost god flew out quickly in the middle.
“Du Fan, you brat! You really drive me crazy! Damn it! No matter where I go, I seem destined to be bullied!” the ghost god shouted as he flew upward.
“I’m in hell, being extremely cautious every day, living like a coward! I’m bullied by ghosts all the time! As soon as I reached the realm of gods, before I even got a chance to enjoy being a god after being a ghost, I started getting bullied again! I was just released from prison when I encountered the War of the Gods! And I’m still being bullied every day!” the ghost god screamed frantically.
“I mustered up the courage to come and guard the graves of the gods, and yet, you humans still bully me!” The ghost god halted in the sky and roared loudly.
“Damn it! Is it my fate to be bullied in heaven? I’m a god now! A real god! Du Fan, I’m a god! How dare you still bully me like this!” As the ghost god shouted, a reddish color gradually appeared in its eyes.
Oh no, this ghost god is about to go mad! Fighting a god—although this ghost god doesn’t seem very strong—still means dealing with a real god. It’s best not to fight if possible!
When a god goes mad, it’s just like that true god! It suddenly went mad at the last moment, if not for the sudden appearance of the Goddess of Nature. Otherwise, it would have almost destroyed itself!
“Ghost god, where did I bully you? It’s clearly you who’s bullying me! How can you say it’s me? We’ve already come here, and you keep using mist, zombies, and necro knights to attack us. How can you say it’s us who’re bullying you?” Du Fan said urgently as he saw the ghost god about to go insane.
“I’m bullying you! Where did I bully you? Your zombies have all been killed by you, and my necro knights too! Over a hundred of them! I worked hard for tens of thousands of years to raise over a hundred necro knights! And still, you say it’s me who’s bullying you.” The ghost god’s eyes grew redder as it screamed frantically.
“It’s clearly you who’s bullying us! By the rules, once we arrive, you should first give us what you’re guarding, but you didn’t. Instead, you sent all these things to attack us. Tell me, isn’t it you who started it?” Du Fan pointed at the ghost god and shouted.
“Nonsense! You shot me three arrows! Damn it, my divine body was injured by your arrows! Isn’t that obvious bullying?” the ghost god cried. Only then did the redness in its eyes fade a bit.
Seeing this, Du Fan quickly tried to find another way to calm the ghost god’s anger.
“Look at this! Three of our people have already been poisoned by you, and their fates are still unknown! Look at this, and you still say it’s not you who’s bullying us.” Du Fan pointed at the three magicians still lying on the ground.
“Hmph, if you hadn’t killed my zombies, how could the poison in their bodies be released? How could your people get poisoned!” the Ghost God said, looking at the three people lying on the ground.
“See? Or did you bully us? You shot me so far away—see, didn’t you bully me?” Du Fan quickly brought up another fact.
Unfortunately, as the Ghost God looked down at Du Fan—being in the air and looking down—he saw the tear in his black robe caused by Du Fan’s attack.
Seeing the tear in his robe, the Ghost God went mad again!
“What a humiliation! What an utter humiliation! I was actually chased and attacked by a human at the Saint level just now! I never thought that after being cautious and careful my whole life, even after becoming a god, I’d still be chased by a mere human! No, I must avenge this today!” the Ghost God roared again.
Oh no, Du Fan’s heart skipped a beat!
The Ghost God had gone mad again!
“Du Fan, you human brat! You chased after me and attacked me! I’m a god! I’ll fight you to the death!” the Ghost God shouted.
A god shouting that he wanted to fight a human at the Saint level—probably the first time in godly history! What a humiliation!
With the Ghost God’s roar, a monster with a deer’s body and a human head appeared beside him!
The monster’s lower body was that of a deer, while where its neck should be was the upper body of a beautiful woman—naked!
