Chapter 018: The Realm of War

The split Ghost King began to expand on its own!
In no time, both halves took on the form of separate individuals!
“I can’t believe I, Andrew, have turned into a ghost,” said a tall ghost.
“I, Carosy, have also become a ghost!” cried the shorter one.
“Carosy, it’s you!” exclaimed the tall one.
“Andrew, it’s you!” shouted the shorter one as well.
Moses’ sword strike had caused the two main components within the Ghost King to separate! And these two components were none other than Andrew and Carosy, as mentioned by the Ghost King himself.
“Very good, Carosy. I didn’t expect you to survive either. Well, let’s fulfill our long-held desire today!” said Andrew.
“Brother, come back first,” Du Fan called out to Moses, shocked by this sudden turn of events.
Looking at the two of them, it turned out Andrew and Carosy had been mortal enemies in their past lives!
Hearing Du Fan’s words and seeing Andrew and Carosy’s situation, Moses quickly retreated.
Sure enough, as soon as Andrew and Carosy met, they attacked each other!
The Sword of War strangely split into two, with Andrew and Carosy holding one each and fighting against each other!
It was unknown what their identities had been in their past lives, but as they fought, they illuminated the night sky as if it were day!
In their hands, the Sword of War emitted dazzling beams of pure white light. The two beams constantly collided in the air, lighting up the entire night sky like daylight!
“Carosy, we were once brothers-in-arms, and our powers were so similar. Fighting like this, it will take days and nights before we finish!” cried Andrew.
“Then what do you suggest?” Carosy retorted.
“Don’t you have any memories of the Ghost King?” Andrew asked.
“Only fragmented ones, incomplete,” Carosy replied while fighting.
“In my memories, the gods built this graveyard long ago, hiding the divine essences of those who died in the wars among the gods. Perhaps our divine essences are among them too! If we can find our own divine essences, let’s fight again!” said Andrew.
“What? Our divine essences still exist?” Carosy exclaimed.

Hearing this, Du Fan was shocked! These two had actually been gods in their past lives! It seemed they belonged to different factions of gods—probably lower-ranking ones! But even the lowest-ranking gods were still gods! “We can’t let them go,” Du Fan shouted, drawing his Holy Radiance Staff and charging at the two. Seeing Du Fan take action, the others also drew their weapons, preparing for battle. The two ghosts who had been gods in their past lives never expected that those humble humans and elves, along with a sneaky dwarf, would dare to attack them! All along, these two had regarded themselves as supreme gods among humans, and even when they saw Du Fan and the others earlier, they didn’t take it seriously. With his Holy Radiance Staff in hand, Du Fan swung a cross-cut at Carosi. “Light Combat Qi! Boy, you’re a follower of the God of Light—how dare you attack me!” Carosi roared as Du Fan lunged at him with a cross-cut. Wielding his War Sword, he also delivered a cross-cut in response, and the two strikes collided in the air, instantly causing a massive explosion! But as a wind mage, Du Fan had already silently moved behind Carosi. From Carosi’s words and his cross-cut, Du Fan was sure Carosi must be a god of the God of Light faction. But so what? Du Fan’s Holy Radiance Staff had transformed into a small dagger, glowing with sacred Light Combat Qi as it pierced straight into Carosi’s body. Although Carosi was a god of the Light faction, he was now just a ghost. Light Combat Qi was the nemesis of ghosts! As Du Fan’s pure Light Combat Qi flowed into Carosi’s ghostly body, dazzling white light radiated from within him, bursting forth from his ghostly form. Carosi opened his mouth as if to say something, but before he could finish, he turned into a wisp of smoke and disappeared from sight. Perhaps Carosi never imagined he would die completely at the hands of a follower of the God of Light! What did he want to say in his final moments? After completely killing Carosi, Du Fan and the twelve others surrounded Andrew.

Looking at these human warriors of high rank before him, Andrew suddenly realized that all he could use was the power of a sacred being, not even his domain ability could be unleashed. And this was still thanks to the powerful physique of the Ghost King! The Ghost King was born from billions of obsessive forces! The strength of its physique and the immense energy it contained had reached an astonishing level! Being able to fight against a domain warrior from the elf race, who had bathed in the Spring of Life, and still hold a decisive advantage showed just how powerful the Ghost King was! Seeing these humans, all of whom were at or above the sacred rank, Andrew suddenly smiled slightly and asked, “What do you want to do?”
“Were you a god in your lifetime?” Du Fan asked.
“That’s right, I was a god in my lifetime,” Andrew said with a smile.
“Then you must know very well why the War of the Gods took place back then, what the outcome was, and its impact on later generations,” Du Fan continued.
“Yes, I know all of that. But what good would it do me to tell you?” Andrew asked with a smile.
“Don’t you want to find your divine essence? If I’m guessing correctly, finding it will allow you to regain your status as a god, right?” Du Fan said.
“That’s correct,” Andrew replied.
“Then, as long as you tell us the secrets of the War of the Gods, we’ll help you find a divine essence and restore your status as a god. What do you say?” Du Fan proposed.
“Your condition is indeed tempting, but do you know how great a disaster it would bring if I revealed the secrets of the gods?” Andrew said with a smile.
“What kind of disaster?” Du Fan asked.
“Perhaps this world itself will cease to exist. Whether it’s humans, elves, dwarves, or even gods—everything will vanish! Do you really think I’d reveal such a secret to you?” Andrew said with a smile.
“Andrew, don’t you want to regain your status as a god? You should know that there are many dangers in this divine relic. Even if we let you go now, I believe that with your current strength, your chances of obtaining a divine essence are very slim. Why not make a deal with us?” Du Fan tried to persuade him again.

“Actually,” Andrew said, a strange expression appearing in his eyes. “Well, how should I put it? I was just teasing you. To be honest, the secrets among the gods are known only to those supreme deities. I, Andrew, am, to put it nicely, a god; to put it bluntly, just a minor servant of those powerful ones.” Andrew laughed as he said this.

“Who among us is qualified to know the true truth about the War of the Gods?” Andrew asked.

“Well, I’ll tell you what I know. As for whether it’s true or not, you’ll have to judge for yourself,” Andrew said.

“Okay,” Du Fan replied simply.

“Then, if I tell you those things, will you still help me find a divine essence?” Andrew asked seriously.

“Of course. We’ll help you. As long as there’s a divine essence, you’ll be its first owner,” Du Fan said.

“Good. Then I’ll tell you what I know about the War of the Gods—about that day.” As he spoke, a strange expression appeared on Andrew’s face.

Soon, that expression turned into one of extreme pain!

“You, just a little worm inside my body, dare to cause trouble!” The voice of the Ghost King suddenly appeared inside Andrew’s body!

“Ah! It hurts!” Andrew suddenly grabbed his chest tightly and screamed frantically!

Suddenly, to the astonishment of Du Fan and the others, Andrew soared into the sky.

In the sky, Andrew exploded!

All around, black mist began to spread, quickly gathering together!

The Ghost King! As the mist dissipated, the Ghost King appeared once again!

“Elves, thank you so much! Your sword finally eliminated the two tumors inside my body!” the Ghost King cried out loudly.

“So satisfying! It’s great to fully control such a body!” the Ghost King shouted.

“Andrew, Karosi, you two bastards! Always trying to seize the body that belongs to me! I, the Ghost King, am the true owner of this body! You’re just remnants of thoughts! I, the Ghost King, am the one born from that obsession!” the Ghost King roared.

“That obsession is to kill! Kill! Kill! Destroy everything in front of me!” the Ghost King screamed.

“Du Fan, I feel the power of this Ghost King is much stronger than at the beginning,” Naixiu said softly.

“Not bad. Judging from this momentum, it seems this Ghost King is just one step away from becoming a Ghost God!” Du Fan said.
“Even if it’s a Ghost God, so what?” Moses replied. Having faced true gods directly, he wasn’t worried at all—even if this Ghost King became a god, it would only mean it had just reached the godly level.
“If it really becomes a Ghost God, then that’s troublesome. Ghosts are different from ordinary creatures, and Ghost Gods possess special abilities,” said a mage.
“Elves, to thank you for removing the two tumors from my body, I will kill you with the grandest ceremony possible!” said the Ghost King.
His expression then changed, and he seemed to become extremely calm. Swinging his War Sword, a mighty aura spread out!
By getting rid of the two parasitic minds within him, the Ghost King grew even stronger!
“To thank you, let me show you the power of my domain! The War Domain!” the Ghost King said coldly. As soon as he finished speaking, a terrifying aura engulfed everything!
Du Fan and his group felt as if they were a lone boat suddenly adrift in a vast ocean, with monstrous waves already raging in that ocean.
