Chapter 010: The True God
“Who is there, acting so sneakily?” Hearing this voice, Saito shouted sharply.
“Oh, this little elf has a pretty loud voice,” the voice said with a hint of surprise at Saito’s outburst.
Saito was stunned by these words. After all, he was over a thousand years old—yet this person called him a “little elf”!
“It’s finally here,” Saito thought. Waving his hand, he sent a signal, and suddenly a group of elves with distinctly different attire emerged from among the elves. As soon as they appeared, they scattered everywhere to protect the entire elf race.
“Elves of level six and below, gather behind me!” Saito shouted loudly.
Two-thirds of the tens of thousands of elves rushed to stand behind Saito.
“The remaining elves, you are the elite of our race. Now that our people are under attack, warriors! Fight for our glorious elf race!” Saito inspired them with passion.
Unbeknownst to many, Saito was actually an expert at inspiring others. Du Fan watched as Saito, who usually seemed quite gentle, spoke words that ignited the enthusiasm of the entire elf race when he became serious.
“Hahaha, good, a real battle,” the voice said, with a hint of sarcasm.
As soon as those words were spoken, a giant black hand appeared in the sky. It formed directly in midair and descended fiercely on the elves remaining in the square!
“Attack that hand in the sky!” Saito yelled. At his command, the elves fired countless arrows and spells!
Despite being attacked so heavily, the hand only paused briefly before continuing its descent. With overwhelming pressure, it seemed determined to crush all the elves with just one strike! The elves intensified their barrage of arrows and spells, and finally, the hand was shattered by the attacks launched from the ground.
As if it had never existed, the sky returned to calm, the blue sky once again clear and pristine.
“Not bad, not bad. You managed to withstand my Dark Great Hand Seal,” the voice said. “Perhaps today will require some effort.” The man’s voice spoke to himself.
As those words faded, the space behind the square where the elves had gathered twisted. With a flash of black light, a group of over four hundred people appeared.
“Are you the current chief of the elves, Saito?” As those people in black appeared, the first one among them immediately asked Saito.
Saito felt a strange sensation—although the person asking him was far away, it seemed as though they were right in front of him. It was a strong sense of spatial distortion, a peculiar feeling.
“I am Saito. And who are you?” Saito asked.
“I want the entire elf tribe to submit to me. What do you think of that proposal, Lord Saito?” the man said with a smile.
The space around this man kept twisting and changing, making it impossible to see his entire figure clearly; it seemed as though he had completely disappeared into darkness.
“Our elves have no habit of submitting to anyone! We are a free race, and we will never agree to such a demand,” Saito said.
“Heh, is that so?” the man laughed.
“Of course. You hide your face and refuse to reveal your name. How dare you claim to subjugate the entire elf race? It’s laughable!” Saito laughed loudly.
“Haha, just know that I am a true god. Chaos is already spreading across the continent, and a great war between the various races is about to begin. By then, your elves will still need to find a place to stand. It’s impossible to stay outside this war. For the future of your people, join me, and I promise great rewards. After all, I am a true god!” Hearing Saito’s words, the man suddenly lifted the black robe covering him, revealing a man with a golden complexion who smiled as he waited for Saito’s reply.
Although this man was of the same height as the others in black, standing among the elves, he stood out like a crane among chickens. In the eyes of tens of thousands of elves, that man with the golden face seemed to become the center of the world. Once he revealed his true face, it seemed as though there was only him in that crowd of over four hundred people!
At that moment, the man’s aura also surged violently.
“Godly! Godly!” Feeling the man’s aura, Du Fan’s heart pounded. He had actually seen this legendary realm today. It was said that even the Pope was only at this level! Du Fan thought to himself.
As that person displayed his power, everyone in the area immediately felt an overwhelming pressure, forcing them to straighten their backs. Only then did the elves at levels six and seven manage to stabilize themselves.
At that moment when this person showed off his strength, the elves sensed an unprecedented sense of crisis. All the elders quickly gathered behind Saito. Du Fan and Lan Ling also rushed over and stood closely together with Naixiu. What had just been celebration and joy turned into facing a formidable enemy in an instant. Naixiu had just obtained the Eternal Bow but hadn’t had time to experience it before being overwhelmed by the true god’s power.
It wasn’t until the true god unleashed his pressure on all the elves that Naixiu felt her body relax. Once again, that aura filled her right hand—whether it represented destruction or creation was unknown! A strong sense of confidence shone in Naixiu’s eyes.
Seeing Du Fan, Naixiu’s lips curled into a gentle smile.
“Elder Du Fan, I rely on you today,” Saito said seriously.
“As long as we can deal with that true god, nothing will be a problem,” Du Fan replied.
Comparing the strengths of both sides, among the more than four hundred people brought by the true god, not a single one was below level nine! Moreover, over fifty of them had reached the Saint level!
On the other hand, among the elves, only about forty elders had reached the Saint level or above. Adding Du Fan, who was at the peak of his domain, Naixiu, who was also at the peak of her domain, and Saito—who was likewise at the peak of his domain—plus magic warriors like Moses who could reach a similar level of domain mastery…
Most importantly, they had to face a god-tier expert, that legendary realm!
Not even Saito knew just how powerful a god-tier expert really was!
Seeing the elves’ experts quickly gather, the true god did not stop them but waited quietly for them to be ready.
“Alright, since you’re ready, take my first strike first.” With that, the true god threw a punch forward. That punch immediately transformed into a huge black fist, heading straight for Saito and the others!
Despite the several hundred meters between them, the punch thrown by the true god broke through spatial barriers and appeared as a fist, striking Saito and the others.
Behind Saito, Moses stepped forward, his body glowing with emerald light. With a loud shout, he raised his greatsword and swung it at the black fist.
The two collided silently; the fist disappeared. Moses let out a groan and stepped back five times in a row before driving his great sword into the ground. Clinging tightly to the sword, he finally stabilized himself! His brows furrowed, and a trickle of blood appeared at the corner of his mouth! A single strike from the air was enough to inflict internal injuries on Moses! Was this the power of a god? Everyone felt a sense of gravity. After all, Moses’s body could withstand Nayshu’s arrow—yet such a body couldn’t even block a god’s strike from the air! It was clear just how formidable the true god’s strength was. Du Fan, however, breathed a sigh of relief—godly power could also be resisted! What Du Fan feared most was a huge gap between godly power and domain strength; in that case, there was no need to fight at all—surrendering directly would be better. But seeing that Moses could withstand the true god’s strike gave Du Fan some confidence. “Not bad, you demon warrior. What’s your name? To be able to block my casual punch…” The true god still spoke smilingly after Moses had deflected his strike. “Your Majesty, the true god, do you like to punch casually? That’s a bad habit. You know, what if you accidentally hit a child with your casual punches? Well, I suggest that if you really want to punch casually, do it secretly at home—that would be better for everyone.” Before Moses could reply, Du Fan took over the conversation. “Who dares to show disrespect to the true god?” As soon as Du Fan spoke, two men nearly two meters tall jumped out from behind the true god and started shouting at him. “And who are you? I’m talking to your true god—why do you jump out and make a racket?” Du Fan’s expression changed upon hearing someone interrupt. “Don’t get excited. Let me talk to this human kid,” the true god said smilingly. This true god really had a good temper. Despite Du Fan’s deliberate provocation, the true god wasn’t angry at all; instead, he smiled and wanted to talk to Du Fan. “Frida, is this the human who ruined your plans?” the true god asked. “Yes, master. It’s him. His name is Du Fan,” said a person dressed in black robes behind the true god. That voice was Frida’s. “Frida, where did you take your tribe?” Saito asked from afar upon hearing Frida’s voice.
“Saito, stop being stubborn. Following my master is far better than following the Goddess of Nature! Only under the sacred light of our master can our elf race embark on a path to greatness!” Frida said to Saito from afar.
“Haha, a true god? This fake god—how can he compare to the great Goddess of Nature?” Saito shouted.
Hearing this, the true god’s expression changed. “Saito, I won’t give you face. If you refuse to show respect, then what about the Goddess of Nature? Who among you has actually seen her? And I, the true god, am standing right in front of you. Remember, your actions just now were outright blasphemy. You will pay for your desecration,” the true god said with a dark expression.
“Daring to call yourself a god? Then show some divine power! Hmph, do you think I don’t know that a god like you is just the lowest rank of gods? And yet, you dare to come to our elf lands and act arrogantly. Aren’t you afraid of perishing here?” Saito replied, mocking him without any respect.
