Chapter 013: Qi Transformed into a Sword
With no trace of emotion in her gaze, Margaret smirked as she stared at the vampire duke before her. She gently raised the sword in her hand, which seemed to emit a cold glow, then swung it downward…
But at that moment, from the direction of the city lord’s mansion, a water-blue meteor streaked forward at incredible speed. In just a moment, it reached where Du Fan and Margaret were!
Before Margaret could finish her swing, a beam of combat qi suddenly appeared in midair. By the time it reached the vampire duke, it had taken the form of a sword, barely blocking Margaret’s strike with a clang.
At the same time, a deep voice came from afar: “You cannot kill him!”
Margaret stopped abruptly. Her sword trembled slightly, and she stepped back several steps. When her gaze fell on the figure in midair, she finally took a breath and said coldly, “The real master has finally shown up?”
Meanwhile, Du Fan couldn’t help but take a deep breath in secret!
Qi transformed into a sword! It was actually qi transformed into a sword!
This technique was even more powerful than condensing qi into a form. If someone could use it, it meant they were at least at the Saint level!
In midair, a tall figure floated there. He still wore those simple clothes, but his aura was many times stronger than during the day.
Finally, he slowly descended, watching Margaret and Du Fan from afar.
With his arrival, the black-armored soldiers, who had previously retreated, seemed to gain courage and quickly surrounded them. Their torches illuminated the surroundings.
On the ground, the bodies of the vampires had been burned to ashes, leaving only the last vampire duke, blood-soaked and collapsed on the ground. Du Fan finally recognized the suddenly appeared figure—it was none other than Gafield, the first prince of the Lanney Empire!
Standing on the roof, Gafield still looked elegant, but his eyes now carried a sternness. He smiled slightly but remained graceful as he said, “So, it’s a charming lady and a little mouse who’ve come to cause trouble in my Odinburg! Madam… since you’ve come from afar, you’re a guest. It wouldn’t be right if I, Gafield, didn’t treat you properly, would it?”
He simply stood there with a gentle smile, but that single smile seemed to exert immense pressure on others. Margaret was somewhat better off, while Du Fan, now devoid of any strength, was at his weakest. The pressure emanating from Garfield’s faint smile made him feel as though the entire sky were pressing down on him! That pressure instantly weighed down Du Fan’s heart… He feared that even at his peak, he wouldn’t be a match for this Garfield! Who would have thought that this prince, who seemed incapable of much, actually possessed such formidable skills! Over there, Margaret seemed to sneer and said, “Garfield, your nonsense is getting worse! Have you trained too much in Frost Combat Qi that it’s changed your personality? I remember you used to be unable to utter a word for ages!” “Oh? I didn’t expect you to say such things,” Garfield replied with a slight smile. “So, this charming miss is an old acquaintance of mine, then? Though I don’t know who you are yet, I’ll treat you even more generously… But…” At this point, Garfield’s tone turned colder. “Did you kill all these vampires on the ground?” Margaret smirked coldly. “Nonsense. If not me, then did they kill themselves?” “Good! Very good!” Garfield chuckled darkly, his cold voice coming from above. “Originally, the death of these vampires wouldn’t matter much, but this time, I had to exert great effort to convince those guys to cooperate with me. Yet as soon as their men arrived, you killed them all. If I don’t keep you around, it’ll be difficult to explain to them… You must be aware of how protective that vampire progenitor is…” Margaret snorted. “If you want to fight, then fight! Stop talking so much!” Before her words faded, the two of them vanished in a flash and collided. Margaret’s figure turned into a meteor, shooting toward Garfield’s location! Her long sword drew from its sheath, instantly surrounded by a faint aqua-blue mist, resembling an ice dragon ready to take shape at any moment. Garfield on the roof laughed heartily. “Frost Combat Qi! You also know Frost Combat Qi! Very good! Then let’s see who’s stronger between us!” With that, he brought his fingers together and waved lightly, and soon a sword filled with cold energy appeared in midair, heading straight for Margaret!
Fighting Qi freezes! Fighting Qi turns into a sword!
Du Fan was speechless below, watching in awe. With his own cultivation at half the Saintly realm, he could easily see how extraordinary these seemingly ordinary techniques really were. He understood even better just how rare this battle was. Judging from how the two fought, they were likely at the peak of the Saintly realm, each having mastered their own domain of power. Such a confrontation was something ordinary people would never get to witness in their entire lives.
If he could observe carefully and reflect on it later, it would undoubtedly bring countless benefits to his future…
In the sky, two waves of cold energy collided violently, as if the entire sky were shaking, with stars seemingly about to fall from the heavens…
The cyclones caused by the collisions with the surrounding buildings instantly turned them to dust, and the Black Armored soldiers around also fell in disarray. As for Du Fan and the Vampire Duke still on the streets, they suffered the least impact thanks to the deliberate protection from the two fighters in the sky.
Even so, Du Fan couldn’t help but cast several Wind Shield magic scrolls to avoid being blown away.
The long sword in Margaret’s hand suddenly emitted a mournful sound, followed by a crisp “ding” as it began to crack at the tip!
The steel sword, once so sharp, was now as fragile as paper. From the tip to the blade, it shattered completely into dust, leaving Margaret with nothing but the hilt in her hand!
The sword energy condensed at Gaffield’s fingertips had broken through Margaret’s defenses and rushed toward her shoulder. With a “thud,” it pierced into her body.
Margaret seemed unprepared for such an outcome. She let out a groan, then her energy surged. With a “hiss,” she forced the cold energy out of her body, and blood gushed out like a fountain from her shoulder!
But Gaffield didn’t spare her. Seeing this, he tapped his fingertips again, and another wave of cold energy surged forth, rushing toward Margaret. She groaned once more amidst the cold energy and crashed violently to the ground…
With a “boom,” Margaret hit the street, creating a large crater several meters in diameter. The crater was filled with ice, as if the ground had instantly frozen over.
Margaret struggled to stand up, seemingly smiling coldly, before a sphere of holy light surged from within her. Encased in this light, her injured shoulder began to heal rapidly…
“What a clever use of combat energy to form a sword!” Margaret’s tone carried more admiration. “I originally thought that even if you reached the Holy rank, you wouldn’t be that formidable. I never expected you to be this strong. Your Holy rank domain must be even more powerful, right? But still…”
At that moment, Margaret suddenly waved her hand, and a wave of cold energy burst from her fingertips, rushing toward Gaffield.
Gaffield simply pointed, and a blade of sword energy shattered the incoming cold energy. By the time it reached him, it split apart and scattered in other directions. Gaffield stared coldly at Margaret on the ground and sneered, “Woman, you’re quite interesting! You know I, Gaffield, have only mastered Frost Combat Energy throughout my life, and it was with this energy that I reached the peak of level nine and entered the Holy rank! Yet you still dare to think you can defeat me with it? If you have no other methods… then I’m afraid you won’t be able to leave today!”
Margaret’s expression changed several times, but she finally sighed and said, “Gaffield, you’ve reminded me… My purpose in coming here today isn’t to fight you. What I need to do is leave now, not continue fighting you… I hope we can have a proper fight next time we meet!”
As soon as she said this, in the blink of an eye, countless Margarets appeared in the area, each one almost identical, as if cast from the same mold.
Gaffield couldn’t help but take a breath and murmured, “Illusion magic? From our Laney Empire? How come I’ve never heard of such a powerful person in our country!?”
After saying this, Gaffield’s face showed a thoughtful expression. After a moment, he shook his head, leaped down, grabbed the vampire duke below, and prepared to leave.
A few cavalry commanders mustered their courage and shouted, “Your Highness, should we chase after them or not?”
Gaffield turned back, sneered, and said indifferently, “If even I can’t see through illusion magic, how can you? Don’t be fooled by all these shadows here—those people have long since run away! Retreat all! If anyone dares to speak a word about tonight’s events, I guarantee they won’t see tomorrow’s sun!”
