Chapter 014: Despicable Behavior
Du Fan observed their subtle movements. Though his expression remained unchanged, he had figured out their intentions to a large extent. Although these three were far stronger than him—by a factor of two or even more—their flaws were simply too numerous… While I might not be able to defeat you head-on, with schemes and tricks, you fools with strong arms but weak minds—how could you possibly be a match for me?
Pleased with himself, Du Fan couldn’t help but smile. After a long silence, he suddenly smiled and said, “Lord Aldas, I just remembered I have a task that requires your help. Would you be willing to assist?”
Aldas was stunned. At such a critical moment, this guy still asked him to do something for him. Had he lost his mind?
Thinking this, Aldas couldn’t help but laugh, but soon his smile turned into a bitter one.
Du Fan stretched out his hand and snapped his fingers lightly. With a crisp sound, another—no, two figures appeared at the entrance of the temple.
Aldas’s eyes narrowed, almost blazing with fury. With his sharp eyes, he immediately recognized that one of the newcomers was Sir Ferre, a Temple Knight, and the other was none other than his former beloved, Kris.
Ferre supported Kris’s weak body with one hand while gripping his knight’s sword with the other, the blade pressed against her delicate skin on her neck. Given Kris’s current condition, Ferre could sever her neck in just a second. As for whether anyone could survive such an injury in the Roland Continent, Aldas had never seen such a case in his life. So, despite his raging anger, he didn’t dare move.
Ferre carried Kris slowly behind Du Fan and finally stopped. Du Fan gave another gesture, and the light combat energy on Ferre’s body flickered as several strands of it flowed into Kris’s body.
Light combat energy had some healing and protective effects. Once it entered Kris’s body, her extremely pale face finally turned slightly rosy. After a faint moan, she slowly regained consciousness.
Du Fan stretched out his finger and gently traced it across Kris’s face. Suddenly smiling, he said, “What a charming beauty! If she were to die like this… Lord Aldas, don’t you think it would be a pity?”
Aldas watched Du Fan’s actions, his eyes twitching. He said in a deep voice, “What exactly do you want in order to release Kris?”
Du Fan clapped his hands and said, “Good, straightforward! I really like people like you, Lord Aldas—full of passion and determination, yet able to let go… So I won’t make things difficult for you… As long as you agree to two things… I’ll release Kris right away…”
“What are they?”
“Well, the first one is…” Du Fan nodded in Alfred’s direction. “Lord Nicholas is Lord Anthony’s adopted son. Even if he betrays the Holy Church, with my status, I can’t deal with him… So the only option is to bring him back alive. But to do that, Alfred is a huge obstacle… How about you help me take care of him?”
Aldas’s expression changed slightly. He glanced back at Alfred and Nicholas, hesitating for a moment.
Alfred, on the other hand, showed a fierce expression. Though he didn’t know Kris’s relationship with Aldas, he was afraid Aldas might actually agree to this condition—after all, Alfred had been playing double games within the Holy Church, and his relationship with Aldas was merely superficial.
Ignoring Nicholas’s feelings this time, he pulled Nicholas back a few steps, drawing his knight’s sword to defend against any sudden attack from Aldas.
Aldas naturally understood Alfred’s meaning. His expression shifted constantly, and he couldn’t make up his mind. Although it was easy to decide which was more important—someone unimportant or his beloved—one thing was clear: if he agreed to Du Fan’s condition, he would never be able to touch the Divine Origin.
In that case, wouldn’t he be failing his mentor’s expectations?
Even a genius like Aldas hesitated when it came to matters of emotion. Filled with anger, he wished he could slap Du Fan to death, but seeing the faint smile on Du Fan’s face, he didn’t dare move.
As he continued to hesitate, Du Fan grew impatient.
His fingers gently traced across Chris’s cheeks, moving down to her neck before lightly skipping over it. Soon, Du Fan’s fingers were resting above Chris’s raised chestline. If Chris had been unconscious at this moment, it might have been fine, but with the vivid images in her mind and recalling what she had done before, she couldn’t help but let out a soft moan. Aldas was startled and quickly glanced over. Seeing Du Fan’s actions, his eyes seemed to blaze with anger. Yet Du Fan seemed to be testing the limits of his composure, slowly moving his fingers over Chris’s chest, feeling its soft, full texture. As Du Fan continued, a blush appeared on Chris’s face, and from deep in her throat came a heart-stirring moan, laced with sobs—so heartbreaking it made anyone cry. But Du Fan acted as if he cared nothing, smiling as he stroked her for a while before sighing softly and saying, “Lord Aldas, we’re all men… When faced with such beauty, our thoughts must be the same, right? If you don’t make a choice soon, I might do something irreversible. Lord Aldas… please remember, my patience is extremely limited… Don’t test my limits, okay?” Du Fan’s smile was calm, his tone steady, but Aldas felt increasingly enraged. He was even ready to fight to the death, yet at the sight of Chris’s condition, he dared not move an inch. Finally, Aldas let out a long sigh and said, “Alright… I accept your conditions…” Du Fan smiled and said, “That’s right… Then, Lord Aldas… go ahead… I’m sure dealing with Alfred will be easy for you!” Alfred’s expression changed rapidly, and he only grunted in frustration. Aldas sighed and said softly, “Lord Alfred, Lord Nicholas, I’m sorry!” With that, he dashed toward Alfred like a ghost. Alfred roared, gathering his combat energy and slashing with a beam of light. But Aldas didn’t meet his attack. Instead, he turned mid-air and rushed toward Du Fan. Seeing this, Du Fan suddenly sighed softly.
Ordas’s figure was already almost at Du Fan’s side. The combat energy around him seemed capable of tearing Du Fan to pieces at any moment. But just then, two sharp ice shards appeared beside Ordas and shot toward him rapidly.
Ordas froze. He could clearly sense that even if his move could take Du Fan’s life, those two ice shards could also take his own. A thousand thoughts surged through his mind, and in an instant, he leaped back to his original position.
This time, Tasia slowly appeared in front of Du Fan. With a cold snort, she said, “Lord Ordas, have you forgotten… that I, Tasia, am still around?”
Ordas’s face turned pale. After a moment, he sighed deeply and said, “Lord Du Fan is truly cautious. It seems all my tactics have been seen through by you.”
Du Fan smiled faintly. “I don’t know if I’ve seen through all your tactics, but I know exactly what I’ll do if you dare to resist… People always have to pay a price for their impulsiveness, don’t you think, Lord Ordas?”
As he spoke, Du Fan gently touched Chris’s chest with his right hand. With a soft sound, most of Chris’s clothes split open, revealing her fair skin and exposed breasts, which rose and fell gently with her breaths.
Du Fan rubbed those “mounds” without hesitation. After a while, he shook his hand disdainfully and said, “That’s enough, Lord Ordas. I think I don’t need to teach you what to do next. Otherwise, even I wouldn’t know what I’d do.”
Ordas shuddered violently. Watching his beloved woman being desecrated, which man could bear such humiliation?
But Ordas was even more aware of what that bastard Du Fan would do if he acted rashly. With a deep sigh, he tried hard to suppress his anger. He turned to Alfred and whispered, “Lord Alfred… I’m truly sorry this time…”
Watching him, Du Fan smiled faintly and said, “Fere… Tell me… am I very despicable?”
