Chapter Fifteen: An Unending Stream
Delicate smoke curled around her long, graceful fingers. Kakiya’s complexion seemed even paler than it had been half a year ago; her crimson lips and fair skin emphasized her delicate beauty.
Subconsciously, Kakiya brought the cigarette to her lips and took a deep drag. This subtly flavorful cigarette had quickly become popular among the upper classes of Nicosia. In fact, these cigarettes wrapped in coca leaves were more narcotic and hallucinogenic than ordinary cigarettes—though the degree of effect varied depending on the age of the coca leaves. Still, these mildly hallucinogenic cigarettes soon became the favorite of high-society women.
The aroma of the cigarette slowly seeped into her nerves, bringing a sense of relaxation. It was a pleasant feeling. Under such immense mental pressure, she could only rely on this substance to numb and relieve her inner distress; only it could keep her both physically and mentally happy. She knew relying too much on it wasn’t good, but what else could she do? The constant pressure she faced every day was enough to drive anyone crazy. Without it, she wasn’t sure she could hold on.
A face seemed to emerge slowly from the pale blue smoke. Kakiya frowned. Comer’s face ruined her good mood in an instant. But she knew she couldn’t escape Comer’s shadow, no matter what.
That bitch Lenta was clearly involved with Comer. How could the Romanov and Anson families—those so-called noble families of Nicosia—produce such a despicable bitch? Kakiya felt rage as well as concern for her own fate.
Comer really had a big appetite. He toyed with Lenta like a puppet and even seduced Vyrana, that little slut from Transylvania. Her seemingly innocent and lovely appearance couldn’t hide the fierce desire lurking within her. And then there was Vero, that hypocritical, pretentious lady. Kakiya thought maliciously—would she still manage to maintain her graceful composure when Comer mounted her and led her to ecstasy?
At the thought, Kakiya couldn’t help but shudder uncontrollably. The memory of Comer riding atop her, driving her toward ecstasy, made her tremble all over. A certain part of her body became moist involuntarily, forcing her to clench her legs tightly to suppress her surging desire.
Kagiyaa was not a person who practiced abstinence, nor did she have any inclination toward monogamy or chastity. However, she would never compromise on men she disapproved of; “better to have nothing than the wrong thing” was her creed. Unfortunately, aside from Komer, it was hard to find any decent man around her. Yet this man brought her much joy but also endless pain, even ruining the path to destiny she had planned for herself—a situation Kagiyaa could hardly bear.
It seemed reality no longer bent to Kagiyaa’s will. Komer swept through Nicomedia with an overwhelming presence, forcing even the arrogant Zelin Storten to submit to his strength. Aside from her own area, which she could hold on to for some special reasons, the entire Nicomedia had fallen under Komer’s control.
The stimulation from coca leaf cigarettes made Kagiyaa’s mind sharper yet more paranoid. A minor noble had risen so arrogantly before her eyes, and the once-glorious Romanov family was about to be destroyed by this man. Meanwhile, she and Lenta, the legitimate heirs of the Romanov family, still maintained such a strange relationship with him—all of which seemed utterly unbelievable.
But this was reality, a reality she had to face.
As the situation grew more dire, Kagiyaa seemed to have no choice but to seek refuge from stress through coca leaf. Though she knew, whenever reason returned, that this was not a sustainable solution—someday, pressure from the east or west would crush her. Katyn lacked the strength to navigate among various factions, especially when facing Komer’s formidable military force from the east, making it even weaker.
Perhaps it was time to have a serious talk with Komer. In fact, Palermo had already reminded her several times to face reality and abandon those unrealistic fantasies. The Atticans and Knossans were not saints; rather than giving them an advantage, it was better to gain more from Komer.
The phrase “peaceful unification” always sounded harsh. Right now, Nicomedia seemed to lack only her controlled territory of Katyn and the northwest controlled by the orcs. If she handed over Katyn, Komer would face pressure from all sides to achieve complete restoration. But would the orcs obediently follow Komer’s demands? Clearly not. If these two factions clashed, it could bring unpredictable and massive changes to Nicomedia.
Change brings opportunity, and only then can one have a chance. Only by enduring humiliation can one regain a glimmer of hope. When the immensely powerful orcs meet the ambitious Komer, who will be the one to laugh last? Perhaps it will be oneself.
Kakuya was almost moved by this idea, which still remained merely in her imagination. No, not yet—she couldn’t do that. Abandoning the Atticans and Knossans outright went against her character. She seemed to owe these annoying folks some hope. Wouldn’t it be better to make things even more chaotic?
A strange smile appeared on Kakuya’s delicate lips. To deal with demons, one must learn their ways—only then can one find a chance to survive.
Komer carefully pulled his clone out of Lomi’s body. A satisfied smile spread across Lomi’s sleeping face. Her graceful body was curled up like a beautiful ivory and jade sculpture, and her sensual allure captivated every inch of Komer’s gaze in the room.
Eve and Grace had left. Now, only Lomi was left by his side. Komer thought he could indulge in unrestrained indulgence, but good times never seemed to belong to him. That little girl, Finitz, was challenging his limits of control.
The beautiful princess of the forest elves, rescued by a prince after falling into trouble—this sounded like a ridiculous fairy tale. Yet such things actually happened in reality, and it happened to him. Komer had always refused to accept this reality. But once Finitz’s true identity was confirmed, he was forced to face this awkward situation.
The sexually passionate forest elf had set her sights on him. Komer wondered if it was the undisguised sexual encounters between him, Lomi, and Grace that ignited the elf girl’s passion. He had never thought about having any romantic entanglements with women other than mortals. The women around him were already troublesome enough, and now he had to get involved with someone of special status among the elves. Even if Komer thought he had enough energy, it still seemed daunting.
The persistence of the elf race was well-known across the continent, especially among elf women of special status. If you got involved with them, you’d be stuck and might even face death. Such precedents did exist. Komer wasn’t worried about that. Finitz was indeed pure and cute, but he absolutely didn’t want to get entangled in the already shadowy world of the elves. But could he really do anything about it now?
Komer got up in his robe and sighed. Without looking, he knew the elven girl had been standing in that corner for three whole hours, persistently listening to the love and desire between him and Lomei from its beginning to its climax and perfect conclusion. This annoyed Komer greatly. Although Lomei didn’t know—or even if she did, she didn’t care—no man liked such things, unless it was a threesome.
Silently walking up to Finitz, Komer sighed again. Snowflakes were falling heavily. Whether from the cold or from blushing at the sight of the live spectacle, her black diamond-like eyes still held that persistent gaze—cold mixed with passion. A strange sensation spread from her fingers to Komer’s heart.
“Finitz, why go to such lengths? Why be so persistent?”
“Persistence is a virtue.”
Komer was speechless for a moment, then sighed with a bitter smile. “But not everything deserves persistence. Adaptability is also necessary to survive in the world.”
“But it’s not for me.”
Her short, forceful reply always left Komer without words.
“What do you really want?”
“You know.”
“But I can’t give it to you.”
“I don’t need you to give it to me. We’re equal.”
“You…” Komer was on the verge of breaking down. Why was such a youthful and beautiful girl so stubborn?
Her calm yet intense gaze forced Komer to swallow back everything he wanted to say. The girl’s trembling body indicated that both her body and mind were at their limits.
Picking up Finitz’s light body, Komer could only anxiously consider the consequences of embracing this feeling. She wasn’t an ordinary mortal woman. Her single-minded focus on love, combined with her special identity, made Komer have to think carefully before acting.
But soon, Komer realized he couldn’t think anymore. It seemed no one could resist such a charm.
