Chapter 59: Conclusion, Which Is Actually a Beginning – Section 5

The mournful cries sounded like howls of wolves. It was unclear where Kurokami found the strength to surge forward once again, darting into that massive crack at lightning speed. At the same time, another figure flashed across the ground, following closely behind Kurokami.

In his haste, Kurokami glanced over and was shocked to see it was Redy—the very Redy he had beaten to the brink of death! His clone!

“Tia!!”

Blood splattered all over Redy’s torn body, yet he seemed utterly indifferent. Like a mad tiger, despite having both legs broken, he crawled forward using only his hands. Unfortunately, the crack in the ground was too wide and deep. Even though both of them possessed extraordinary skills, their strength had long been exhausted, leaving them relying solely on willpower. Naturally, they couldn’t move as nimbly as usual. As soon as he jumped in, Kurokami felt darkness envelop his vision; he couldn’t control his body and watched helplessly as the crystal ball grew farther away.

“Redy!!”

In an instant, Kurokami’s eyes burned with fury. It felt as though the world was about to collapse. Relying on his own weakened body, he grabbed the cliff face of the crack with both hands. There was a crisp crack, and his fingers broke one by one. Yet, using that momentum, his speed increased dramatically. Like a roc with broken wings, he rushed toward the crystal ball. The wind howled in his ears, and the cliffs rushed past, but he paid them no attention.

As a result, his speed increased significantly, and the distance to the crystal ball shrank rapidly. After several more attempts to gain momentum, by the time Kurokami’s left hand was completely useless, he was just an inch away from the crystal ball. Through its thick walls, he could even see Redy’s sorrowful eyes.

Yes, it was sorrow—no fear, no hesitation. At that moment, Redy appeared as calm as a fairy in a lake, lying on the surface of the crystal ball, watching Kurokami rush toward her. In the silence, her red lips parted slightly.

Kurokami couldn’t hear Redy’s voice, but he could see. He knew what she was saying.

“Don’t come any closer… Kurokami… I’m already very satisfied to see you again… Time and space are about to collapse… Please go… Don’t… don’t make me worry anymore…”

“I… love you…”

“No!!!”

A gush of blood sprayed violently from Black Hair’s mouth, yet he seemed utterly unfeeling. At that moment, Black Hair’s heart turned to ashes. All his past efforts seemed like a joke. In this world, no matter how much he fought for power, what was the point if he lost his beloved woman? In his struggle against the clone, he had dragged his most cherished woman into it. Black Hair felt like a useless waste.

He had never hated himself this much—hated his own helplessness…

Just then, a muffled thud sounded behind Black Hair. Following his gaze, he saw countless black threads rushing down from above. Wherever they passed, they pushed aside the falling rocks and debris. Those countless black threads, like countless tentacles, strived to reach the crystal ball.

It was Reddy!!

Joy flashed in Black Hair’s eyes. Though just moments ago they had been mortal enemies, now he desperately wished Reddy would be strong—only then could he save his beloved woman.

All hostility, hatred, and disgust vanished in an instant. Amid the swirling black threads, Black Hair pushed hard again, accelerating slightly. Now, both he and Reddy were less than three meters away from the crystal ball.

Three meters—normally just an instant’s distance—but now it seemed endless. Both Reddy and Black Hair were severely injured; they could only hold on by sheer will. They didn’t know when they would die, but one thing was certain: before dying, they still had one task to complete.

“Grab it! I’ve got it!!” With Reddy’s shout, the black threads finally matched the crystal ball’s falling speed, catching up to it amidst the falling rocks. Amid the explosions, many black threads were torn in half by the crystal ball’s immense force, but most remained, wrapping around it like an octopus’s tentacles. Black Hair, still above, quickly grabbed the other end of the thread.

“Reddy!!” Black Hair roared, condensing all his words into that intense cry.

“Black Hair!!” Reddy echoed him. More black threads broke apart.

“Get up there!!” With another fierce shout, Black Hair concentrated all his strength in his arm, using the black silk in his hand like a whip to throw it upward. He believed that despite being utterly exhausted, this final throw would surely send Red Beauty and Redy up there. As for what would happen after that, Black Hair trusted Redy’s abilities—though he was also at his limit, Redy would definitely find a way to keep Red Beauty alive.
Perhaps this was the best outcome?
He felt all his strength leaving his body with that throw. A bitter smile appeared on Black Hair’s face. After all the fighting, it still ended up like this. What on earth was he fighting for?
But it was fine anyway. Black Hair believed that after this battle, Redy couldn’t possibly survive. Without Emperor Moore, the Moor Empire could no longer threaten human settlements. Over time, humans would grow stronger. And the Death Star he had created himself would become a dazzling star.
“What a… joke…”
Black Hair murmured to himself before closing his eyes. His body fell downward into the bottomless abyss along with countless falling rocks. He thought this was the end for him. But then, a voice changed everything.
It was a shrill cracking sound.
Was that…?
Black Hair’s eyes widened in shock. He stared at the sky in disbelief. There, in the black silk he had thrown upward, a huge crack appeared—like a scar that split the silk bundle in two. From that wound, a gigantic, sharp rock was slowly falling.
Damn!! What is that!?
For a moment, Black Hair couldn’t believe his eyes. He never imagined Redy’s black silk could be so fragile. A rock falling from the sky could tear it apart, showing just how vulnerable Redy was now. But none of that mattered most—what mattered most was that Redy couldn’t possibly save Red Beauty right now!!
Because the lower half of the black silk, torn by the rock, was the part that held the crystal ball!!
“Redy!! You bastard!!”
“Black Hair!!” Amidst the writhing black silk, Redy’s figure reappeared. But as soon as he showed up, he began spewing blood in huge gulps, as if there was no end to it. His face, covered in wounds, was as pale as paper—without a trace of color. And of the black silk forming his lower body, only a thin thread remained connected to the crystal ball.
“I… I can’t do it!!”

“No!!” Black Hair screamed frantically. He tried his best to climb upward. But by now, they had already fallen hundreds of meters, and his strength was completely exhausted. He couldn’t slow down his descent at all; on the contrary, the harder he struggled, the faster he fell.

In just that instant, Reddy above could no longer hold on. Less than five meters from the top of the cliff, the black silk snapped. The crystal ball, like a meteor falling from the sky, rushed down toward Black Hair along with countless rocks and debris. Reddy’s head tilted, and no sound was heard from him anymore.

Reddy… are you… dead?

For a moment, Black Hair was completely stunned. Looking at the man who had fought desperately alongside him just moments ago, the man who had fought for her sake as well, he was speechless. A deep sense of coldness slowly spread through his heart, like a block of ice from the netherworld.

Perhaps Reddy wasn’t a good person. As the supreme leader of the Moore Empire, his selfish desires had led to the destruction of countless races. And for her sake and his own, he was determined to kill Black Hair. There had never been peace or friendship between them.

But one thing was undeniable: his feelings for her.

No matter how domineering he was, no matter how evil his heart, he was willing to die for a woman. Reddy’s feelings for her were truly sincere. Outside, he was a mighty emperor. But in front of her, he was just a man—a man willing to die for his woman.

Her… you… are really lucky…

With a self-mocking bitter smile, Black Hair tried to lift his head. In just that instant, the giant rock above was now mere inches away. But he didn’t want to dodge.

Because if he moved, the crystal ball containing her would fall into the bottomless abyss along with those rocks, never to return in the shattered space.

I… refuse to give up!!

In endless pain, Black Hair felt as if something inside him had broken. An unprecedented sensation spread throughout his body. Wherever he looked, his body suddenly changed.

Dissolving…

From his broken fingers to his scarred body, the black-haired figure was decomposing at an astonishing speed. Yet strangely, he felt no pain at all, as if it were inevitable all along. As his vision grew blurred, a soft golden light suddenly emerged from within him. Within that golden light, the black-haired man saw himself turning into endless threads, just like Reddy… Golden threads. “Dong…” The crystal ball fell into the giant web made of golden threads…
