Chapter 53: Meeting – Section 1
With a single slash, the opponent’s black crystal giant ship was instantly cut in two. It was as easy as a hot knife through cream. Through the continuously open channel, Blackhair and the others could even hear the incredible screams.
“Hahaha…” Laughter filled the cabin. Many Blood Wolf warriors could barely stand straight. Yet, without exception, their faces were filled with pride.
Because this was their own armed force.
Without relying on external help, no need for deals, and no need to bow down—this was an armed force built entirely by the Blood Wolves through their own strength. Seeing these weapons in action filled anyone with pride.
Of course, it would be even better to pilot these Snakefang mechs in battle personally. Unfortunately, this time the opponent only sent a few black crystal giant ships. Perhaps too many victories had numbed these warriors of the Moor Empire? From start to finish, they didn’t even attempt basic reconnaissance or probing. They were easily wiped out by the Snakefangs, as if it were a joke. This left the Blood Wolf warriors remaining on board feeling disappointed.
The battle wasn’t intense and lasted less than ten minutes. Giant fireballs erupted one after another in the sky, as if several suns had appeared all at once, blinding the eyes. The Snakefang mechs sent into battle seemed reluctant to return to their docking sites, as if they still wanted to fight more.
On the side of the Blood Wolf fleet, only countless wreckage of ships floated in the starry sky. The once-proud Moor defenders had vanished completely.
“Alright,” Blackhair clapped his hands. “The work is almost done, right?”
“Mm,” Bloodpupil glanced outside. “There’s just one piece left above us; everything else has been cleared. The young man worked carefully and left no traces.”
“As long as there are no Stone Spirits left, it’s fine. I’m sure those guards have already reported back. There’s no need for us to hide anything,” Blackhair said nonchalantly, waving his fingers. Then, visibly, shiny sweat beads appeared on his forehead.
Was he unlocking the memories of another resource site?
Seeing Blackhair’s pained expression, the cabin gradually fell silent. Respect filled the eyes of every crew member. To outsiders, they might seem like extremely ferocious wolves. But at this moment, they resembled children, looking up at their leader with admiration.
Respect is never expressed with words—it is demonstrated through actions. Only true men deserve respect. Without a doubt, Black Hair has achieved this. How much pain he has endured alone, for the Blood Wolves or for humanity, only he knows. No one can share that burden with him. Moreover, as a leader, he performs better than anyone else. The welfare of the Blood Wolves is the highest in the entire human world. The monthly salary of each official Blood Wolf warrior can rival that of a city governor on an ordinary planet (if one ignores their gray income). Not to mention the support provided for the warriors’ families. Coupled with the Blood Wolves’ unrestrained investment in equipment, which results in extremely low combat losses, this has led to a phenomenon that all leaders envy: the loyalty of their subordinates.
Of course, even Black Hair knows that loyalty comes in different levels. Absolute loyalty exists only among comrades with the same beliefs. What he has now is merely ordinary loyalty. But that is enough. Black Hair never thought he could gain the allegiance of those who do not belong to his own race in another world. Thinking of those yellow-haired, blue-eyed people swearing loyalty to him makes him feel disgusted.
Time passed quickly. In the blink of an eye, five minutes had gone by. As everyone watched quietly, Black Hair’s clothes gradually became soaked. When the last bit of dryness disappeared, he finally let out a long sigh and opened his eyes.
“The next coordinate has been found. Let’s set off now…”
“Understood, leader,” Monkey replied cheerfully before restarting the warship.
It was the familiar corridors and the extreme acceleration once again. But this time, few were surprised. They knew that since Black Hair intended to destroy each of these targets one by one, such scenes would continue for a long time, and they had to get used to it. So when another purplish-red crystal appeared before them, no one was astonished. Everyone continued to carry out their tasks methodically.
The second target was also a fusion crystal, guarded by twenty Black Crystal giants. Black Hair sent thirty Snake Teeth to handle everything, then disappeared back into space.
The third target…
The fourth target…
For over a month, the Black-Haired faction carried out relentless raids. Thanks to the powerful transportation capabilities of the virtual corridors, they nearly emptied all resource locations they could find. Almost every rare stone essence, whether seen or unseen, failed to escape their grasp. However, as the raids progressed, the difficulty grew increasingly greater.
At first, the enemies were just a few Black Crystal giants, which the Black-Haired faction could easily defeat with around thirty Snake Teeth units. But later on, such a deployment was clearly insufficient. After all, their raids were too obvious—anyone but a fool could discern their intentions. So the Moor Empire urgently increased its efforts. The enemies the Black-Haired faction encountered became stronger and stronger. The number of Black Crystal giants quickly rose from a few to dozens, then hundreds, and even nearly a thousand. In the final stages, they even encountered those terrifying spheres that had destroyed the Smo Empire.
It was the first time the Black-Haired faction had fought such weapons head-on. Although they had long seen their power through the images of Duke Ziyan, facing them directly still shocked them greatly. Their Snake Teeth units couldn’t gain the upper hand in direct combat. Under the high-intensity energy weapons used by the enemy, the Snake Teeth suffered losses for the first time.
It was a fiercely intense battle. As soon as the Black-Haired faction’s fleet emerged from the corridor, it was surrounded. The enemies were all giant spheres that quickly transformed into massive giants. In appearance, they resembled the Snake Teeth—both were enormous steel humanoid forms. But their movements were worlds apart.
The enemy’s speed was simply too fast. Despite their massive size, they could move as nimbly as ordinary mechs, a fact that far exceeded the imagination of the Black-Haired faction and others. Compared to them, the Snake Teeth, which required two loadings to become combat-ready, were clearly at a disadvantage. In the first engagement, nearly ten Snake Teeth units were turned into fireballs mid-air. If not for the energy defense capabilities built into the Snake Teeth’s armor from the start, the loss would have been even higher.
But from this, the Black-Haired faction and others finally realized that the days when the Snake Teeth were invincible were gone forever.
The battle was extremely fierce. In just half an hour, the losses suffered by the Snake Teeth reached an unacceptable level—76 units. Meanwhile, only seven of the enemy units were destroyed. Even so, the Black-Haired faction didn’t intend to use its last secret. After observing coldly for a while, it revealed another ace up its sleeve: the Thor Fortress!!
It must be said that the black-haired commander is highly skilled. Despite heavy losses among his subordinates in the previous battles, he still achieved his strategic goals. He drew all the eerie spheres in one direction and utilized the large size of the Snake Teeth to form a solid protective circle, preventing the enemy from attacking the core of the fleet.
The results of this tactic were obvious. The human-shaped formations made up of hundreds of eerie spheres, unable to break through, had to concentrate their strength. Their formation became increasingly compact. When they thought they had gathered enough power, the main weapon of Thor’s Fortress also removed its disguise.
A huge, spire-like device appeared before everyone’s eyes.
“Die!!” The monkey snarled and roared in fury.
Immediately afterward, countless black lights, like lightning, emerged from thin air and were swiftly drawn toward the spire of Thor’s Fortress. At the same time, all the Snake Teeth seemed to receive an order and retreated frantically. Just less than thirty kilometers away, a massive black sphere suddenly appeared at the center of the enemy’s formation.
“A black hole cannon…”
With blood-red eyes, he stared at the huge sphere that was instantly swallowed by darkness, his face showing the same cruel smile as the monkey’s. Somehow, a glass appeared in his hand, filled with wine that was as red as blood.
“Hss…”
The black sphere exploded.
Like a bomb, it burst into countless black lightning bolts that spread across hundreds of kilometers of space. These black lightning bolts resembled cracks in darkness, instantly tearing apart the surrounding space. The space itself shattered like a mirror.
None of the 130 eerie spheres escaped. In that suddenly shattered space, they vanished like helpless children, without a sound. Then, another white energy sphere was fired from Thor’s Fortress, reappearing above the battlefield. The highly compressed positive energy quickly neutralized the effects of the black hole cannon.
Five hours later, in the palace of the Moorish Emperor, the handsome emperor was about to have breakfast when a guard rushed in in panic and whispered something in his ear.
“Bang!”
The emperor’s glass shattered instantly…
