Chapter 35: The Race of a Single People, Section 5
The Moors are the most powerful race in the universe. Through countless years of conquests, the technologies they have plundered are more than enough to sustain hundreds of advanced civilizations. The field of communication is no exception. Not only do they utilize anti-space transmission as understood by ordinary humans, but they also master the multi-dimensional spaces explored by the Dark-Headed Death Star. As a result, such ancient information-transmission ships have not been seen by Moor merchants for many years.
However, their rarity does not diminish the significance of these ships. On the contrary, every being living under the protection of the Moors—regardless of whether they need to travel far—must understand the meaning behind these ships. At any time when such ships are in need, all Moor citizens are obligated to do everything in their power to assist them.
This is because emergency communication ships are among the highest-ranking vessels of the Moor Empire. They only appear in the most critical or desperate situations. And once they appear before the eyes of the world, it can only mean one thing: something serious has happened…
The Moor Empire has highly developed communication systems, so such ships are now rarely needed. But when they are used, it means that ordinary communication methods have completely failed. Thus, upon seeing this small red ship appear, all the merchants gathered around the reception station became frantic. The once bustling fleet scattered instantly, creating a vast vacuum that left the small ship isolated.
Soon after, several Moorian warships and Swan-Class battleships, which had been idle nearby, seemed to sense something as well and accelerated toward the area.
“What?! The First Corridor has been destroyed!?” A shrill voice rang out abruptly, like a cat with its tail stepped on. Inside the Swan-Class battleship, Miss Veri, who had just left home, turned as pale as paper, her frail frame trembling violently.
It had only been a few days since she left home. She had been filled with doubts, hoping to discuss things clearly with Beck in person. But instead, she received such news. Oh, Mother Tiya… How many years has it been since such a catastrophic accident occurred in the Moor Empire!? That was a spacetime corridor—a massive structure with defense capabilities comparable to those of a star station. How could it just disappear like that? Moreover, the Moors’ corridors are built in the most complex environments. Without precise coordinates, even trying to find them would be like chasing a dream.
But facts are facts. Now, what Miss Wei Li needs to consider is no longer whether Lord Baker will arrive or not, but rather those Moor warships around her. Undoubtedly, they are all subordinates sent by other grand dukes, with similar goals to her own. If Baker arrives as agreed, she might still be able to gain an advantage. But now, she’s on the same starting line as them. Whoever finds Baker first will obtain the first-hand information about the destruction of Star Station 351. Well, now there’s also the First Corridor added to the equation.
Shaking her head, Miss Wei Li let out a deep sigh. Why, whenever Baker was around, accidents seemed to follow? No, she must report to her father immediately and remind him once again of Baker’s importance. Perhaps it was time to take this man seriously.
She must find him before any of the grand dukes!
The Swan of Battle ship traced a beautiful arc before disappearing swiftly into the vast starry sky…
…
A small chamber.
It was a rather small chamber, extremely simple, with only a table, a chair, and a bed as furniture.
A pale light flickered on the walls, casting a bluish-white glow that made the entire chamber seem eerie. On the square table in the center of this gloomy space, a strong man lay quietly. His eyes were closed, his breathing even, as if he were in deep sleep. His scarred chest rose and fell steadily with each breath, powerful and rhythmic. His muscular limbs, though not bulging, were exceptionally tough and coordinated, like whips—just a glance at them was enough to convey a sense of strength. No one would doubt the explosive power hidden in such muscles.
Next to this man, a shadow had just risen from the only chair in the chamber, slowly stepping out of the shadow in the corner. As he moved slowly, the pale light from the wall illuminated his face.
A sweet smile…
A fair, plump face. Two small eyes almost closed. That sweet smile was almost comparable to that of Maitreya in the legends of Huaguo. Anyone who saw such a smile would feel joy from the bottom of their heart.
But if that smile appeared on the face of a fair, plump man with skin as pale as paper, and if that smile never changed, it was a different story. At the very least, what people would feel was not joy, but fear.
For under the pale light surrounding them, this person who had just stepped out of the shadows wore such an expression. His obese body was so bulky that every step he took caused ripples, and the smile on his face was sweet to the point of being nauseating. Yet it was as stiff as that of a puppet. Clearly a living being, he stood there without any trace of vitality. Combined with this eerie environment, it could drive even the most resilient person mad!!
Yet no one here went mad. Because the only one who could still move in this room was this abnormally large man, covered in a cloying smile.
He slowly walked over to the square table and examined the man on it carefully. Suddenly, he burst into laughter.
“Truly… truly a perfect masterpiece… truly… perfect…”
“I can’t believe it—after so many years… well, I can’t even remember how long. Humans can still produce such a creature. Hehe, hehehehe. Look at this skin, this physique—every inch is a masterpiece of God. Oh, damn it, why am I talking about that old guy again? No, it should be my masterpiece. Wait! I didn’t do it either. Then whose masterpiece is it?”
The fat man held his head in his hands and thought for a long time. Eventually, he gave up. “Never mind, whoever created it, it’s in my hands now. I, Henry, the greatest creator, will reluctantly study it myself!”
His short, chubby fingers stopped stroking and drew a circle in the air before landing on the man’s right shoulder, then slowly moving down his right arm. Something strange happened. Somehow, wherever those fingers passed, the man’s skin became transparent, revealing his veins, bones, muscles, and even nerves under the pale light of the room.
Muttering in delight, Henry’s voice sounded like that of a starving man facing a huge, delicious cake.
“Not bad, really not bad. All the muscles are in the ideal proportion. Hmm, this fibrous structure can indeed provide maximum explosive power. The flexibility is good too—probably comparable to steel wires from the past. It’s hard to believe such tissue could exist in a human. Wait… what’s this?”
His short, chubby fingers stopped, landing precisely on the man’s right wrist. There, within the bones, was a black dot the size of a rice grain, reflecting a black crystal-like glow under the pale light of the room.
“Haha, guess what I saw? It’s a miracle!” the fat man shouted, yet his expression remained unchanged, completely mismatching his tone and appearing extremely strange.
“It’s my Progenitor Cell!! Haha, this is totally unexpected. Although it’s changed a bit, its basic structure is still the same. This cell shell must be where the core is placed, right? It’s amazing—how could my created cell end up here?”
He quickly retracted his fingers, and this guy who called himself Henry began walking back and forth frequently. It was as if an old scholar had encountered a difficult problem, but he looked more like he was going mad. As he walked, he would occasionally let out strange laughs and mutter to himself.
“Amazing, truly amazing. I never thought I’d see my own creation on a human. Has the outside world changed? Or have my created cells taken over the universe!? Well, it’s not impossible… I’m the Creator, the greatest Creator! The cells I created are the greatest cells. Though they’re a bit outdated, compared to those natural organisms, they’re still divine beings!!”
“But…” The fat man stopped in his tracks. “I don’t seem to have left any self-sustaining factors in these cells… Other than parasitism, they probably can’t reproduce either. Well, I need to check further.”
With this discovery, the fat man clearly became more interested in the man at the table. He rushed over to him like a madman, his short, chubby fingers touching the man’s skin again—this time on the left arm. Layers of skin turned transparent under his fingers. But he no longer let out those excited laughs. Instead, clear drops of sweat appeared on his forehead. The more he observed, the more sweat he produced, until eventually it formed a small stream. Even his obese body began to tremble.
“This… what… what is this?”
“What on earth is this!?”
“How is this possible? How can there be such bones!!”
His voice shifted from excitement to confusion, from confusion to panic. Finally, the fat man was almost shouting. Under his fingers, a pitch-black skeleton was clearly visible in the light. Its ink-like color contrasted sharply with the bright red muscle tissue, a truly shocking sight…
