Chapter 28: A Bloodshed Triggered by a Stone – Section 2
His movements were as swift as the wind and as powerful as thunder. Before the people around him could react, the unfortunate captain had already crashed violently into the hull of the warship behind him, emitting a deafening roar. Yet to everyone’s ears, that loud roar paled in comparison to a faint, almost imperceptible crackling sound!
How could this Moorish captain be broken by a single kick from that Porian?
The speculation soon turned into reality. Before anyone could recover from their shock, the poor Moorish captain collapsed limp to the ground. His body was twisted in an unnatural way, clearly indicating that some parts of it were severely damaged.
This act ignited a storm of anger among the remaining Moorish captains.
In their minds, although Blackhair was a commander, he was still, above all, just a Porian. If it weren’t for the orders of Duke Tarot, that damned Porian wouldn’t even be worthy of polishing their shoes! But now, he dared to beat up his own people in front of everyone! It was an utter humiliation!
Unfortunately, it seemed they would never have the chance to atone for this shame in their lifetime.
For Blackhair, skilled in combat, spun like a whirlwind among the crowd, kicking all eight Moorish captains away one after another. After tracing arcs through the air, they landed in front of Blackhair. The eight skeleton-like figures formed a mountain of bones, their painful groans turning the octopus crew members pale with horror.
“Oh, my Mother Goddess Tia. What is this new Porian doing? Doesn’t he know this is a grave crime? Is he insane?”
It was no wonder the octopus crew were terrified. What they saw today far exceeded their imagination.
As a subordinate race, when had they ever seen Porians so dominant? In the Moor Empire, the gap between races was like an insurmountable chasm—nothing could cross it. Although these two Porians held a higher status than the Moorish captains, such indiscriminate behavior was undoubtedly also a grave crime!
But what could they do? As fellow subordinate races, they actually leaned more toward the Black-Haired group in the current conflict. But the problem was—were they not now under the command of those Moor captains? What should they do in this situation? For a moment, almost all the octopus people stared at each other, unable to come up with any solution. Meanwhile, Blood-Pupil, just like all the most ferocious enforcers, had already begun to torment those Moor captains! He grabbed each of their arms one by one and broke them in front of all the octopus people. The crisp sound of bones breaking and the Moor captains’ pitiful screams created a hellish scene. Their commander, that lucky Poleman Beck, stood by quietly, neither stopping nor encouraging them—only his smile grew ever softer. The octopus crew quickly made their choice. The dense crowd scattered instantly, surrounding Black-Haired and Blood-Pupil tightly. Fear could be seen in everyone’s eyes, yet their bodies… were turned outward. They actually used their bodies to form a wall around Black-Haired and Blood-Pupil, blocking the curious gazes of those around them! It was a serious crime for subordinate races to beat their dominant race, but if few people knew about it, perhaps this new Pole commander could justify his actions? That’s what simple-minded octopus people thought. So this was the only help they could offer these two subordinate races. Of course, Black-Haired and Blood-Pupil, who were in the midst of it, didn’t understand their simple reasoning. So, at each other’s strange behavior, they exchanged glances, seeing confusion in each other’s eyes, but they didn’t delve into it. Blood-Pupil stepped forward and stepped on the bodies of those Moor captains still trying to get up, ignoring their cursing, and slapped them several times. “Damn it, is this how you treat your own commander? What’s your complaint?” “Oh, damn it! You dare hit me… I’ll kill you!!” The Moor captain being beaten by Blood-Pupil still refused to give up, resisting loudly. “You damned subordinate races, filthy swine! I swear by Tia, I’ll kill your entire family! Exile your fathers, brothers, and sisters to the coldest outer planets! Turn you all into the Vegetable Race!” His vicious curses, like demonic curses, made the surrounding octopus people shudder, their eyes filled with fear.
Captain Moore was right; what their subordinate races feared most was becoming weaklings. If that happened, they would be nothing but food for all the superior races, with not even their basic right to survive guaranteed. Who doesn’t have parents or relatives? The warriors of the subordinate races work tirelessly to serve the Moore race just so their own people can live a normal life. But if they were to be reduced to weaklings, it would all be meaningless. No one cares about reasoning with their food.
Yet the curse that terrified the octopus people had no effect at all on Black Hair and Blood Eyes. And for Black Hair and Blood Eyes, who were already accustomed to solving problems with the simplest methods, it didn’t matter whether these Moors were the dominant race or not. What mattered was that now, he, the Poleman Beck… was the commander of this fleet!!
So Black Hair didn’t let Blood Eyes continue torturing those Moore captains. He simply broke the neck of the one who resisted the most!!
“I am Poleman Beck. I am the commander of this fleet.” Black Hair crouched in front of a Moore captain, staring into the latter’s defiant eyes with a calm expression.
“What I need are subordinates who obey orders without question, not some arrogant lords.” Black Hair reached out and gently touched the Moore captain’s cheek, his blue blood standing out vividly.
“Will you obey me?”
“Pah!!” The Moore captain spat out blue saliva in disdain, answering with his actions.
“Crack!” With a sharp sound of a broken bone, the Moore captain’s neck twisted into a knot. Then Black Hair moved on to the next Moore captain, crouching down… “Will you obey me?”
“Pah!”
“Crack!”
The gentle, soft questions stood in sharp contrast to the grating sounds of broken bones. The octopus people around couldn’t believe it—this seemingly gentle Poleman Beck, who hadn’t raised his hand once throughout, was actually so terrifying. Amid his cheerful smile, four more captains had their necks broken. The pale bone fragments protruding from their necks looked horrifying under the light. Many octopus people couldn’t bear such cruelty and vomited instantly.
This repeated itself until only two Moore captains remained. Their eyes no longer held the defiant look from before; instead, they showed a strange expression.
This expression was something the octopus crew members had seen before, often on themselves. The name of this expression… was fear.
Could even the Moors, the most powerful race in the universe, be afraid?
The Octopus people couldn’t believe it—they couldn’t believe that their once domineering masters, who often whipped them, could show such expressions. Yet that was indeed the case. When Blackhair approached the last two Moor captains, those two, who had initially acted so bravely, suddenly turned pale as death and began to cry.
“You are the commander!! You are the commander of this fleet! We obey!! We obey!!” they shouted hoarsely. Looking at Blackhair’s menacing smile and his plump green hands, it was as if they were staring at a demon.
This time, those green hands didn’t break their necks but gently stroked their faces and smoothed out their wrinkled collars. Then came Blackhair’s gentle voice.
“Good. It seems you’ve finally understood something. I’m pleased. So, what’s the deal with the control lock of this warship?”
The two Moor captains immediately explained everything at the fastest speed they could. As their voices trembled, Blackhair’s smile grew even gentler.
“In other words, this thing has nothing to do with me at all?”
“Yes… yes, Commander.” The two Moor captains, terrified, nodded frantically.
“Oh, in that case, your actions just now were outright rebellion, right? What punishment does imperial law prescribe for such behavior?”
Hearing Blackhair’s question, the two captains were on the verge of crying. What punishment? What more punishment could there be? You’ve already broken the necks of five Moor captains. What more punishment do you want us to suffer? If it comes to imperial law, your actions are probably the greatest form of rebellion.
But no matter what they thought, the two captains didn’t dare say anything outright. Facts proved that this damned Pole wasn’t like the submissive subordinate races they had encountered before—he was a true tyrant. He dared to break the necks of their own people in front of so many Octopus people. What else wouldn’t he dare to do? Life is only once, and the remaining two Moor captains didn’t have the courage to test further.
But just because they didn’t speak didn’t mean Blackhair wouldn’t act.
So in the next moment, Blackhair’s green hands reached for their necks again. After two crisp “crack” sounds, the last two Moor captains followed in the footsteps of their predecessors.
After finishing all this, the black-haired man finally stood up, lightly clapping his hands as if to shake off trivial dust. Then, facing the horrified octopus crew members around him, he shrugged indifferently, with an innocent expression on his face.
“You all saw it—they brought this upon themselves. It’s just that I’m the one who carries out the punishment. There’s nothing wrong with that, right?”
All the octopus people were stunned, mechanically shaking their heads slowly in unison…
