Chapter 23: My Fury Can Burn the Sky – Section 4

It was two days later when Hei Fa returned to Death Star…
No one knew what he had been doing during that time. Nor did anyone know why the Lightning Assault Ship he had taken away was in such disarray. But everyone understood that something terrible must have happened. After being around Hei Fa for so long, they had never seen him look so terrifying—even Blood Pupil had never seen him like this.
So when Hei Fa stepped down from the warship, no one dared approach him to ask questions.
Glancing at the crowd around him, Hei Fa noticed that Blood Pupil and Baroka were there, which relieved him a little. He wore a smile even uglier than crying and nodded gently.
“Go do what you need to do. I’m fine. Blood Pupil, Baroka, come with me for a moment.”
Blood Pupil and Baroka exchanged a look, both seeing surprise in each other’s eyes. They quickly stepped forward and followed Hei Fa. No one spoke throughout the process.
It wasn’t until they reached Hei Fa’s room.
“Lily is dead…” That was Hei Fa’s first words. As he spoke, his face twitched involuntarily, looking extremely grotesque.
“She died right in front of me.”
“What!?” Blood Pupil and Baroka were shocked! Their expressions changed instantly.
“Head! What did you say? Lily… Lily…?” Overwhelmed with emotion, Blood Pupil ignored the murderous aura surrounding Hei Fa, grabbed his shoulders, and shouted through gritted teeth.
“Head! Are you joking? I tell you! This isn’t funny!! Lily… she just went out for a walk… right? Just a walk!! Is that right??”
Hei Fa could clearly hear the groans from his own shoulder blades, yet his expression remained icy, as if he felt no pain at all. He stared coldly at the emotional Blood Pupil, remaining silent for a long time. It was only when Baroka, realizing the situation was bad, pulled Blood Pupil away that he spoke.
Taking a deep breath as if trying to suppress all his anger, Hei Fa’s gaze fell outside the window.
“I’m not joking. Lily is dead. She died right in front of me. And I…” Severe pain suddenly overwhelmed him, twisting his face… “can do nothing!! Nothing at all!!”

“Pfft!” His steel-like right hand plunged violently into his own chest. Right before Blood Pupil and Baroka’s eyes, the black-haired man pulled out the crystal left by Lily. Bright red blood gushed out instantly, like a blood arrow, splashing all over Blood Pupil and Baroka’s faces, leaving them stunned in shock.
“This is the only thing Lily left behind,” the black-haired man said, holding the still-dripping crystal in front of Blood Pupil. His voice remained calm and cold.
“Do… do you want to take a look?”
“Oh, no… this can’t be real…” Blood Pupil let out a low moan, unable to speak as he stared at the crystal before him.
As the one who had known Lily the longest and fought alongside her frequently, how could he not understand the significance of this crystal? It was the thinking control center of the Blue Angel, as well as the most crucial connection point between Lily and the mecha. Now it was in the hands of the black-haired man—what else could it mean?
Baroka, however, wasn’t paying attention to any of this. Compared to the crystal, he was more concerned about what the black-haired man had just done. In his eyes, the black-haired man was utterly terrifying—despite having a wound where flesh bulged out from his chest, he seemed unaffected by pain. Yet the wound kept bleeding…
“Captain… your body…” Baroka stepped forward, intending to help the black-haired man bandage the wound, but was stopped by a swift gesture from him. Then, in front of the two of them, the black-haired man pushed the crystal back into the wound. Bright red blood dripped down his hand, a truly horrifying sight.
Watching the black-haired man carry out these actions, Blood Pupil seemed to realize something. He stormed over to the bar, grabbed a bottle of liquor, and gulped it down desperately. The amber liquid flowed down his cheeks, diluting the bloodstained air in the room significantly.
The bottle was quickly emptied, and the bloodshot eyes of Blood Pupil turned so red it seemed they might bleed. Suddenly, gritting his teeth, he demanded, “Who is it!?”
“The Blood Totem Fleet of Marquis Vincent from the Eighth Star Region!” the black-haired man replied coldly, then picked up a bottle of liquor and started drinking as well.
To his surprise, upon hearing this name, Baroka froze for a moment before showing astonishment. “Are they it?”
“What’s wrong?” the black-haired man glanced at Baroka coldly. “Is there something wrong?”

“No, I just heard the news yesterday—that the lord of this star domain is likely to be hostile to us. I didn’t expect you to run into them so soon. Captain, it’s said that the marquis named Vincent is part of the high nobility and also controls the supply rights for the interstellar fleet. In the incident with Silver Star last time, that old Jack was one of his vassal nobles.”

“I don’t care about his vassal nobles or what class he belongs to,” Black Hair interrupted Baroka rudely. “All I know is that they’ve targeted Lily.”

“Leader, tell us what to do! We have to help her! I can’t bear this!” Blood Eyes snapped angrily, his face twisted in fury.

To be honest, among those around Black Hair, if anyone knew Lily best, it was probably him—other than Sulei—and even Black Hair himself wasn’t as familiar with her. And in Blood Eyes’ heart, there was an even more hidden secret. He had only watched Lily’s devoted feelings for Black Hair without ever speaking up.

But now everything was different. Without Lily around, Blood Eyes was like a roaring lion, desperately searching for a prey to vent his anger on. The intense killing intent he emitted even made Baroka look away in shock.

Faced with such Blood Eyes, Black Hair smiled—a bitter smile.

“This is my personal matter. I can’t use too many public resources. The Death Star, the Twins, the construction of those five natural planets, and Thor Fortress are not within my consideration. Even the newly built Thunderbolt Assault Ships can only carry a small number of people. Add in the Li Feng, which is about to be repaired, and that’s all my forces. Blood Eyes, you need to think carefully—what we’re facing this time is an entire star domain, along with the noble forces behind them.”

“I don’t care! Even if it’s just one warship, I must go!” Blood Eyes said fiercely before turning and leaving the room.

Watching his retreating figure, Baroka’s expression turned solemn. After hesitating for a moment, he suddenly asked, “Captain, really can’t we bring a few more people this time? After all, the power of an entire star domain is too strong. And from the information I’ve gathered, that Marquis Vincent has many backers. He can even mobilize the interstellar fleet.”

“There can’t be any more.” Black Hair shook his head, but his expression softened considerably. “Death Star isn’t just my planet. In the past, I could use any resources I wanted at will. But now, with so many aliens relying on Death Star to survive, I can no longer be careless. They bring not only benefits but also responsibilities.”

After a pause, Black Hair glanced at Baroka again and said slowly, “But you don’t need to worry. For this mission, I have no intention of engaging them in direct combat. I’m just going to make them pay the price they deserve. That’s all.”

Just revenge?

Baroka stared at Black Hair in front of him, unable to speak.

He knew Black Hair’s habits all too well. He also understood that the calmer Black Hair appeared in front of his subordinates and companions, the deeper and more intense the murderous intent hidden within. Now he finally began to worry about Marquis Vincent. According to Black Hair, this was revenge!

Revenge—do you understand? It’s not the same as open warfare. Open warfare is merely about conquering territory for the purpose of occupation, but revenge targets the individual themselves!

In Black Hair’s calm yet piercing eyes, Baroka seemed to see a churning sea of blood, which made him shudder.

“Understood, Captain. I’ll go prepare right away.” Grinding his teeth, Baroka finally gave up on trying to persuade him.

As Blood Pupil and Baroka left one after another, Death Star immediately became like a well-oiled machine. A massive fleet was quickly assembled. The Thunderbolt Assault Ships that had just come off the production line were also lined up neatly. Blood Pupil was in charge of preparing the mechs, while Baroka managed the warships—with astonishing efficiency. In just half a day, all the equipment Black Hair needed was ready. Aside from Li Feng needing another day for final adjustments, the rest of the combat forces were in top condition and ready to go.

Although Black Hair had repeatedly emphasized not using most of the forces for this mission, the number was still substantial. There were over thirty Thunderbolt Assault Ships alone—almost the entire inventory. Added to these were the Sardine-class warships that had followed Black Hair since the beginning, along with those supplied by the five major families, bringing the total to over seventy. These massive warships lay quietly in the spaceport, like sharks in the deep sea, their cold armor plates emitting a faint blue glow.

However, a small problem arose before departure.

Perhaps because of the considerable commotion caused by Baroque and the others, the news that Blackhair was going into battle spread quickly across Death Star. Upon hearing this news, the five major races residing on Death Star immediately became upset. Representatives of the Bark Bugs and the Undead even went straight to Blackhair to strongly protest his decision to leave them behind.
“I don’t care about the battle, but our Bark Bugs must go as well. Blackhair, this is something you promised us long ago,” said the Bark Bug representative, waving his large claws while speaking in a shaky voice.
The Undead representative added in a gloomy tone, “Leader Blackhair, if it comes to killing, I believe our people are more effective than your warships… Hehehehe…”
