Chapter 15: Alien Planet! Alien Creatures? Section 4
It was a massive fleet of thirty transport ships—so large that even Mason Planet’s airports couldn’t accommodate them all at once. These enormous vessels arranged themselves around the planet in a huge ring, making it seem as though the planet suddenly had a belt around it.
But this “belt” was nothing ordinary. Transport ships were different from warships—not only were they several times larger in size, but the cargo they carried was also incredibly valuable. The value of just one such transport ship was enough to buy three warships of the same class with plenty left over. From the scale of this fleet, Blackhair could tell that Koko must have invested a tremendous amount of money.
It wasn’t surprising, after all—Celsius ore was the most valuable thing in the world. Smart Ganluoalien knowing such a huge source of wealth awaited them, how could they not go all out? The fleet before them was only the first wave; according to his plan, an astonishing number of 100 more fleets were to arrive later!
Oh, God—this was a terrifying figure. It seemed he had mobilized all the merchant guild’s transport ships. Due to Blackhair’s strict confidentiality requirements, these ships couldn’t possibly be rented out. They had to be Ganluoalien’s own assets.
Seeing such a large fleet, Blackhair finally understood why the Ganluoalien could still amass great wealth despite so much discrimination. Truly, they were the greatest interstellar transporters.
“Hello, Mr. Blackhair. I’m the leader of this operation and assistant to President Koko—Uri,” said a short Ganluoalien who rushed up to him as soon as Blackhair returned to Mason Planet, bowing respectfully. Like all Ganluoalien, he was thin and agile. But perhaps due to his long time in business, his eyes often flashed with a shrewd glint, showing great cunning.
He was an experienced veteran, Blackhair thought immediately. He also felt somewhat relieved by Koko’s trust in him. So he showed respect to this Ganluoalien as well.
“Hello, Mr. Uri. It’s great to meet you here. Did Koko say anything to you before you came?”
“No, Mr. Blackhair. President Koko told me to follow all of your instructions here. Also, based on your list, the president has a general idea of what you need—he suggested adding more engineering ships and carrier ships, which I’ve also brought along,” Uri replied respectfully.
“Carrier ships?” Blackhair was puzzled.
“Yes, carrier ships. You, as a noble warrior, might not be familiar with them, but I can explain. Carrier ships are a type of engineering ship, but they don’t have many capabilities. Their only function is to fly. However, due to their special design, their size and volume are much larger than those of ordinary floating ships, and they have excellent hovering abilities, allowing them to remain stable even at the edge of cosmic storms.”
“So that means…” Blackhair’s eyes lit up immediately.
“Yes, sir, just as you thought. These floating ships are designed to serve as base carriers. Once there are enough of them connected together, they form a massive, self-sufficient temporary base that can provide living space for surrounding fleets. In the past, during the interstellar fleet’s expansion, these carrier ships were the most fundamental components.”
So that’s how it is!! Blackhair was overjoyed.
He had been worried about not finding enough materials to build something here. It was impossible to dig up materials, and transporting them from afar would be too costly. But now that he had these floating ships, everything became much easier. All he needed to do was land these ships on the planet’s surface and combine them—they would already form a huge base. With some simple modifications, it could be put to use.
Although it still fell short of his original plan to build a city, after all, you can’t have everything at once. No one can create something out of thin air.
Koko truly is a sharp individual. Blackhair was extremely satisfied.
But now, choosing a planet became another problem.
Blackhair had originally planned to find a small planet near a neutron star and use the special equipment on construction ships to modify the environment so that it could become habitable. But now it seemed highly unrealistic.
The area around neutron stars was utterly desolate. Without using teleportation, even flying for days would yield no visible planets. Moreover, since the Gold-Eating Worms lived there, Blackhair didn’t want to disturb their peaceful lives. After much thought, he still couldn’t find a suitable planet.
“Head… look…” Bloodpupil noticed Blackhair’s request and whispered a reminder. “That mysterious planet…”
Mm…
Blackhair nodded, a sharp glint suddenly appearing in his eyes. He had long thought of that mysterious planet—after all, it was the only planet closest to a neutron star, and it didn’t appear on star maps either. Even active scanning could only detect a faint gray dot. It would be the ideal location for a base.
However, up to now, Blackhair still couldn’t figure out what lay on that planet—something that could turn humans into mindless beasts. That’s why he remained highly wary of it. Kakaribot, who had been rescued, was equally puzzled and couldn’t provide any answers.
Could such a harsh environment really be considered a home?
Blackhair didn’t know, and no one else did either. But he had no other choice.
“Let’s use that place. Bloodpupil, take Hong and Lan’s squad there again. Bring the construction ship this time. Conduct a thorough inspection with instruments before landing. Only start the renovation work if nothing is amiss. Stay vigilant throughout the process. Don’t start building the city yet—just land the carrier ships.” Blackhair finally made up his mind.
At his command, Mason Planet immediately took action.
Two squads, totaling eight Sardine-class warships, emerged from the planet’s docks one after another. Like ghosts in the night, they silently followed alongside the massive transport ships, flying silently into the depths of space…
This was a risky attempt. Blackhair wasn’t entirely confident. But time was running out, leaving him no room for more choices. Uri’s arrival this time brought not only a huge fleet and supplies but also a news item that shocked him greatly.
“Has the Interstellar Fleet set off?” Standing by the window, watching the last warship disappear into the vast starry sky, Blackhair asked without turning around.
“Yes, sir. They have already set off. But due to the sheer size of the fleet, their speed is very slow. Preliminary estimates suggest it will take them another month to reach here,” Uri replied respectfully behind Blackhair.
“Hmph… These arrogant fools don’t even have the patience to probe?” Blackhair gritted his teeth and snapped.
“Of course not, Mr. Blackhair. It’s said the commander this time is Eternal Star. If it’s him, we might not be attacked right away.”
“Oh?” Blackhair became interested. “How so?”
“General Eternal Star Berrito is an expert in defense. He has spent his entire life in defensive battles and possesses vast experience, so…” Uri hesitated, not knowing how to continue.
“So he won’t launch an attack right away but will instead set up a defensive system using warships to blockade this place?” The black-haired man raised his eyebrows and finished his sentence.
“Your wisdom surpasses even the brightest stars, respected Mr. Blackhair,” Uri said again, bowing his head and offering a gentle compliment.
He was a very capable steward. In fact, among the Ganluo people, he, like Koko, belonged to the most open-minded group. This time, Koko sent him here not only to lead the transport fleet but also with an important task: to personally experience the courage of that young man with black hair and learn his combat methods.
The Ganluo people had always been weak in terms of military strength, largely due to their personality—they were simply too cowardly. If they could learn Blackhair’s tactics, they might truly be able to regain their strength and hold their heads high.
Uri felt the weight of his responsibilities. Yet he still didn’t understand the words that suddenly came out of Blackhair’s mouth.
“Humans may lack the heart of tigers, but tigers can hurt human feelings. These guys have been too comfortable for too long. Do they really think this universe is their backyard?” Blackhair sneered and turned toward the door.
“Uri, take care of the supplies here. I’m going out for a while.”
“Sir, where are you going…”
“You don’t need to know. Just do your job.” It was clear Blackhair still didn’t fully trust this new Ganluo man.
“Yes, I understand,” Uri replied respectfully, not taking it too seriously.
Mason Star immediately became bustling. Pirates were working hard everywhere. Baroka was especially excited. Although the three newly purchased Sardine-class ships hadn’t arrived yet, he had already started arranging adaptive training for his men. Every pirate’s face was filled with passion.
Though they still didn’t know what awaited them, they believed that as long as they followed Captain Blackhair, their lives would surely become better…
At that moment, a small shuttle quietly flew out from the other side of Mason Planet and swiftly disappeared into the vast universe.
On the shuttle, Blackhair leisurely held a cigarette between his lips, fiddling with some exquisite ores. There were many such ores in the cabin—gifts he had prepared especially for the Gold-Eating Insects.
It’s time to use them… The dark-haired person thought silently, a hint of a proud smile appearing on their lips.
