Chapter 15: Alien! Monster? Section 2
A Tragedy!! An Absolute Tragedy!!
Witnessing the bloody scenes and hearing those disgusting chewing sounds, almost all the pirates let out a groan from deep within.
God, what exactly were those things? They were less human and more like beasts with human appearances. Those frenzied predators moved on all fours with their eyes rolled back. They used their mouths far more often than their hands, as if they had long forgotten they were also intelligent beings. Moreover, they moved at lightning speed, far beyond that of ordinary humans—even the finest legion soldiers couldn’t compare.
“Fire!! Fire now!! Kill them!!” Blood-Pupil suddenly roared and rushed toward the control panel.
Unfortunately, they had come out just to relax, and the shuttle they were riding in was designed for passenger transport, lacking heavy weapons. Blood-Pupil searched the control panel for a long time but couldn’t find the control mode for the ship’s cannons. He only found three small-caliber light machine guns for self-defense.
But with the situation urgent, he didn’t care much. He pulled the weapon control lever, a fierce look crossing his eyes.
“Bang bang bang bang…”
The rapid firing sound of the light machine guns filled the cabin. In an instant, all three guns spewed long streams of fire, with countless bullet belts sweeping down like a storm. Prompted by Blood-Pupil, the other shuttles also launched frantic attacks.
Perhaps the light machine guns weren’t very powerful, and the great distance greatly affected their accuracy. But it was enough against those beast-like creatures. The violent hail of bullets was like a meat grinder, instantly raising layers of yellow sand on the planet’s surface. Rocks shattered into pieces, and those strange humans didn’t even have time to dodge—half of them were knocked down in an instant. Bright red blood sprayed into the sky, and flesh and limbs scattered everywhere.
Seeing such a terrifying scene, the remaining monsters froze for a moment before letting out wild screams and charging away in panic.
At that moment, Black-Hair waved his hand. “Stop firing. We’ll follow them.”
“What!? Boss, why aren’t we killing them!! Those guys are monsters!!” Blood-Pupil replied in surprise.
“I’ll explain later. Execute the order now.”
“Okay, I understand.”
The way those monsters ran was also like that of beasts—on all fours. They were like hunting dogs, moving at astonishing speeds, covering hundreds of meters in just a few leaps. Yet compared to the shuttles flying at high altitudes, their speed was nothing but a joke. As long as their physical characteristics were identified, it was easy to track and locate them even over several kilometers.
Moreover, their destination wasn’t very far away.
“This is it,” Blood-Pupil stopped controlling the shuttles and whispered, looking down at the huge cave below.
It was on the other side of the volcanic crater, behind a large rock—there was a cave, the destination of those monsters. Due to the unique environment of the planet, the instruments on the shuttles couldn’t detect what was inside the cave. But one thing was certain: there were quite a number of beings with the same physical characteristics as those monsters, at least thousands.
“Oh, God, is this a den of monsters? How many there are!” Gasps of amazement arose among the pirates.
After some time of adjustment, they had stabilized their emotions, and these skilled young men began to show their fierce side. Each of them had a hint of madness and bloodthirst in their eyes, seemingly eager for the impending massacre.
Yes, a massacre. They really couldn’t think of any better way to deal with those who had slaughtered their comrades. Only slaughter could ease their pent-up anger.
Pirates weren’t saints. Though their lives were hard, each of them was stained with blood. For survival, they would do anything.
Whoosh—all the shuttles descended, forming a semicircular encirclement around the cave, their dark gun barrels gleaming with cold light, waiting for Black-Hair’s command.
But just then, things changed again.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, a white cloth suddenly appeared at the entrance of the cave, fluttering in the wind.
“Is this… surrender?” Blood-Pupil was stunned. It wasn’t because of seeing such a symbol of surrender here, but because he couldn’t believe there were still people who knew how to use it! What did this mean? It meant that inside that cave, besides those beast-like monsters, there were also true intelligent beings, rational lifeforms!!
Seeing this, everyone’s gaze toward Black-Hair changed. They suddenly remembered the order he had given earlier and instantly understood its meaning.
His furrowed brows relaxed, and it was only at this moment that a hint of satisfaction appeared in his dark-haired eyes. He turned around easily to face the crowd.
“Everyone stay in the air and keep watch. I’ll go down alone. If they show any unusual behavior, Blood Pupil, I give you permission to kill them.”
“Wait, boss!! I’ll go down with you—leave this to Lily!!” Blood Pupil replied hastily. He was also a thrill-seeker and wouldn’t miss such an exciting opportunity. As for danger, it was a term that simply didn’t exist in a killer’s mind.
Hearing his words, Lily immediately showed displeasure, but under Black Hair’s gaze, she could only nod.
In this way, Black Hair and Blood Pupil quickly reached the outside of the cave. Behind them, over thirty shuttles formed a dark cloud, hovering densely in the air. Their gun muzzles were all pointed here, ready to unleash a torrent of fire at the slightest anomaly.
Yet these preparations were essentially just for show. For what appeared in the cave was no longer those barbaric monsters, but an elderly human. His gray hair was filthy, and he wore only a few pieces of cloth as clothing. Yet his spirit remained strong. Everyone was shocked when this old man appeared.
“Kakaripot!! How could it be him!!” All the pirates exclaimed in surprise.
No matter which world or race, there are always some outstanding individuals. Their brilliance is so dazzling that even after long years, it remains unforgettable. Unfortunately, the old man before them was one such star.
The pinnacle of biological research in the Human Alliance, author of dozens of groundbreaking biological works, the one who colonized hundreds of planets and discovered over thirty races—still an idol to all scholars, the greatest explorer: Kakaripot. Even pirates who spent their lives at sea knew his name well.
But how could he possibly be here?
At that moment, this great explorer stood quietly at the cave entrance, a faint smile on his thin face as he observed Black Hair and Blood Pupil, saying nothing.
“Who are you?” Black Hair hadn’t heard the exclamations from the warships, so he still had no idea he was facing such a great figure.
But the Blood-Pupils beside him were different. He had always lived in this world and naturally knew of the deeds of the old man before him. Seeing Black Hair’s displeased expression, he quickly pulled at his robe in secret and whispered an explanation in his ear. Upon hearing this explanation, Black Hair’s eyes lit up.
The greatest biologist, a magnificent explorer, a learned scholar—any of these titles was enough to bring him endless delight. He never expected to encounter such a remarkable person on this strange planet.
“Kakaripot?”
“It’s me, young man. I’m glad to meet you here. You’re the only one like me I’ve seen in nearly a decade. This is quite surprising. May I know your name?” the old man replied with a smile.
“I’m Black Hair,” Black Hair said, raising his eyebrows, though his tone remained unfriendly. “I was passing through this area when I happened to detect a signal here. For that signal, I lost over twenty loyal subordinates. Honorable elder, I think you might be able to give me an explanation?”
“He’s… he’s Kakaripot…” The Blood-Pupils, seeing Black Hair’s aggressive tone, hurriedly reminded him again.
Unfortunately, Black Hair wasn’t convinced. “I know. It’s precisely because he’s Kakaripot that he needs to give me an explanation. I want to know what caused my twenty subordinates to be hunted down. What exactly are those man-eating monsters? If this honorable elder can’t give me a reasonable answer, then I can reasonably assume that these monsters are his pets!”
Black Hair’s voice rose sharply. Ignoring the Blood-Pupils’ reminders, he showed even more aggression.
He didn’t care whether those monsters were man-eaters or what their origins were. But if they had attacked his subordinates, there had to be an explanation. That’s why he had stopped the pirates from killing them and came here.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want revenge—it was that his revenge would be far more extreme… The pirates couldn’t imagine that Black Hair’s revenge would be completely different from theirs. They only wanted to kill a few people to vent their anger. But Black Hair planned to…
Eradicate them completely!!!
What a ruthless person! A chill spread through everyone’s hearts. Looking at his unimposing figure, they all showed fearful expressions.
“Young man, don’t get so agitated. I can give you the explanation you want right now,” the old man across from him said, completely unfazed by Black Hair’s aggression. He simply smiled slightly and stroked his disheveled white hair.
“As you expected, they are the children I kept in captivity…”
