Volume 4: The Revelation Revealed Chapter 529: Fury Beyond the Heavens

Seeing the two pick up the chess pieces and ready to play again, Wukong no longer had time to idle around, so he revealed himself and landed.

The two were startled. Upon seeing Wukong, Meng Ke exclaimed, “Hey? This little monkey! I’ve seen you before!”

“Oh?” Wukong remembered. In the Three Realms, in his ape form, he had once met Meng Ke. His feigned death had been but a fleeting moment, yet Meng Ke still remembered it.

Wukong laughed heartily and quickly transformed into human form. He said to the two, “This is the first time we’ve truly met!”

Seeing Wukong use his supernatural powers to take on a human form—someone he had not dared to think of or forgotten for so many years—Meng Ke immediately bowed and addressed him as “Elder Immortal.” Longshu, on the other hand, simply adjusted his clothes and bowed to Wukong.

Wukong helped Meng Ke up and asked directly, “What immortal pill did you take, Old Meng?”

Meng Ke replied, “Elder Immortal, do you think I’ve lived too long? Alas, many have asked me this. In truth, it’s not an immortal pill—I haven’t even touched a trace of immortality energy.”

Wukong clearly saw that Meng Ke had no magical powers at all, but to live so long was indeed a rare feat in the world. He then asked Longshu, “Longshu, why didn’t you pursue the Way? Why are you here drinking and playing chess?”

Longshu smiled and said, “Drinking and playing chess are also part of the Way!”

Wukong asked, “Have you found it? Let me ask you—what is the Great Way?”

Longshu replied, “The Great Way exists among all things and phenomena. How could I possibly find it? To be honest, I stopped searching for that elusive Way three years ago.”

Wukong nodded. It was truly remarkable that Longshu had realized this at such a young age.

Meng Ke said, “Young Longshu, you could be my teacher.”

Longshu replied, “Old Meng, I dare not accept that title. Only when everyone can be a teacher to everyone can it truly be called that.”

Wukong asked, “Longshu, why hasn’t your appearance changed?”

Longshu said, “I don’t understand. If I don’t understand, I just let it be.”

What a strange man! Wukong thought to himself. Those who seek the Way often get trapped by obsession and struggle to free themselves, yet Longshu, at such a young age, had already understood the importance of letting go. Wukong mused that Longshu, though appearing unrestrained as he traveled across the four great continents, actually already held the Great Way in his heart. The Dragon Maiden had feelings for him, but he didn’t even know who she was. Perhaps this time, her heart would be disappointed.

But Wukong had promised the Dragon Maiden and Guanyin to take Longshu back to Mount Luoguo, so he surely couldn’t break his word. He thought for a moment and said, “I’ll take you to meet someone.”

Longshu replied, “Okay!”

“You agreed without knowing who it is?” Wukong asked.

“I see him without seeing you, and I see things without seeing people. Most encounters in this world are like this,” said Nagarjuna calmly.
Wukong nodded and bid farewell to Mencius. Mencius chuckled and said, “I’ve stayed in this nameless Taoist temple for months; it’s time for me to go on a journey!”
With his sleeves fluttering, Mencius strode away like an immortal. Wukong watched him with envy—such a life was truly carefree. How many extraordinary people and heroes existed in the world! No wonder Pangu was heartbroken when the calamity of Yuan came; even Wukong himself found it an utterly cruel act.
Wukong took Nagarjuna with him and soared on the clouds. It was Nagarjuna’s first time riding on clouds, yet he felt no fear at all. He merely sighed, “It’s pretty much as I imagined.”
Seeing Nagarjuna’s calm demeanor, Wukong became even more convinced that his origins were indeed as the Yin and Yang said—born without roots. What did “born without roots” mean? Perhaps he was born from the forces of nature, like a roc, or maybe there was an external force involved. Naturally, this external force referred to beings from beyond the heavens. Who else, besides them, would be so idle as to create such a remarkable being?
After a while, they arrived at Mount Luojia. Wukong led Nagarjuna straight to the lotus pond. Guanyin and the Dragon Maiden were still waiting there. Upon seeing Wukong return with someone, their gazes immediately focused on Nagarjuna.
Guanyin was fine—she merely parted her lips as if wanting to say something but held back. The Dragon Maiden stared at Nagarjuna, motionless for a long time, tears streaming down her face—a truly heart-wrenching scene.
The Dragon Maiden would never mistake him! Her expression proved that this man was indeed Bodhisattva Nagarjuna, or rather, a Bodhisattva Nagarjuna unrelated to the Divine Ape of Creation!
Wukong truly began to believe that love could indeed transcend life and death!
When Nagarjuna saw the Dragon Maiden, surprise flashed in his eyes. That expression vanished quickly, replaced by utter disbelief. After a moment, his gaze softened. Seeing her tears, he said softly, “So, there really is someone like you in this world.”
Hearing this, the Dragon Maiden could hold back her tears no longer. This time, it was tears of joy as she choked out, “You… you remember me, don’t you?”
Nagarjuna nodded firmly. “I remember! You’ve appeared in my dreams countless times! It’s as if in a past life—”
“Don’t mention past lives,” she interrupted softly. “Anyway, we’ve met again in this life, free from any bonds.”
The two held hands and walked slowly toward the back of the mountain. Guanyin couldn’t wait to ask, “Wukong, what’s going on here?”

Wukong was utterly confused. It wasn’t strange that the Dragon Maiden recognized Longshu, but how could Longshu still remember her? He had only tried it out of curiosity, never expecting it to lead to a marriage that spanned a lifetime. With a bitter smile, he said, “Anyway, the Dragon Maiden won’t be mistaken, right?”
Guanyin pondered for a moment and said, “She won’t be mistaken. He is indeed Longshu.”
Just then, the ground shook violently, and the two quickly rose into the air. Everywhere they looked, all the houses and buildings had collapsed as if struck by a giant hand.
Wukong’s expression changed drastically. At first, he thought it was an earthquake, but upon further reflection, with his own cultivation, nothing could escape his notice. The intensity of this shock far exceeded what he could imagine.
Without even saying goodbye to Guanyin, Wukong vanished in a flash and traveled across the Four Great Continents. Everywhere he looked, there was only devastation! It seemed as though all four continents had simultaneously experienced some cataclysmic disaster, with not a single intact place left.
The most suffering were the people in the cities—houses collapsed, city walls crumbled. How could ordinary people withstand such sudden disasters? Cries of despair echoed like thunder. Those living by the seas and rivers saw the water surge backward, turning once-flat lands into vast oceans.
Beasts in the mountains fled in panic to avoid falling rocks. The least affected were the cultivators and birds in the sky; with the earth shaking, they could simply rise into the air and stay safe.
Wukong felt heartbroken. What exactly had happened? How could such a catastrophic disaster strike the world? His mind raced as he used his secret techniques to survey the area before heading straight for the Golden Heaven and Silver Earth.
Tathagata sat motionless in the Golden Heaven and Silver Earth, as if nothing happening in the world had anything to do with him.
When Wukong landed in front of Tathagata, the latter gave a slight smile and said, “You’re here again?” Wukong had no time for pleasantries and asked, “What happened?”
Tathagata replied, “Only I know about this.”
Wukong urged, “Hurry up and tell me!”
Tathagata’s smile deepened. “If I tell you, will you listen?”
Wukong raised his palm, ready to strike, but Tathagata remained unfazed. “Is this the skill of the wise divine ape? Do you think I fear death?”
Wukong suppressed his anger and retracted his hand. “Fine. What are your conditions?”
Tathagata said, “It’s still the same—ask the Creative Divine Ape to help me escape from heaven!”
Without hesitation, Wukong replied, “Absolutely not!”
Tathagata simply closed his eyes and said, “Then there’s no need to discuss it.”
Wukong, filled with rage, laughed instead and sat down. “Apart from this, there are still things we can discuss.”

Tathagata said, “I’ll handle the other matters myself.”
Wukong sneered and said, “To be honest, I’ve met Pangu.”
“And so what?”
“I promised Pangu that I’d help him trap you in the furnace! Once I make a promise, I never go back on it!” Wukong said.
“Oh? You change quickly!” Tathagata said, half-believing it.
Wukong said, “Don’t forget—those who belong to the same lineage of creation naturally share the same mindset.”
Tathagata slowly said, “If you trap me, I won’t be able to get out.”
Wukong said, “But I can promise you this: if you leave heaven, I won’t stop you or help you. How about that?”
Tathagata opened his eyes and stared at Wukong. “Is that your condition?”
Wukong nodded. “That’s all I can do!”
Tathagata shook his head. “No!”
Wukong mocked, “Fine. With this shock today, I’ll eventually find out the truth. What can you do now? I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until the next cycle to leave heaven!”
Tathagata laughed. “What’s the harm in waiting another cycle? Time passes just like a fleeting horse.”
Wukong had an idea. “Not so. I have a way to ensure that this cycle of disaster never comes. Do you believe it?”
Tathagata was stunned, then said, “Delusional dreams!”
“What delusional dreams? The disaster comes only because your cultivation as Tathagata is too high. Others fear you’ll break through the boundaries. From today on, I’ll kill you once a day and destroy the body of the Great Sun Tathagata. Then see how you can leave!”
Tathagata laughed heartily. “Even if you kill me a thousand times, what can you do? You can’t destroy the body of the Great Sun Tathagata! To leave heaven, he’s enough!”
“Is that so?” Wukong smiled. “But you’ve forgotten the Heaven’s Secret Staff! I may not be able to destroy his physical body, but I can drain all his power of creation. What do you say?”
Tathagata’s expression changed. “You—”
“What about me? With just a few words, you try to threaten me too. With such a narrow mind, how can you achieve anything great?” Wukong said.
Tathagata sighed. “Lingming, you’re born of creation. This secret isn’t important to me, but it’s crucial to you!”
Wukong dismissed it. “If you don’t tell me, how can I know? If you delay any longer, I’ll destroy the Great Sun Tathagata for you to see!”
“Very well! That shock just now even surprised me. Go and take a look at the Pillars Holding Up the Sky.”
Wukong looked up and saw that the nine Pillars Holding Up the Sky on the top of Buzhou Mountain had slight cracks.
Wukong exclaimed, “I get it! That shock was caused by someone from beyond heaven, right?”
Tathagata said, “Even you can guess that. Why do you still ask me?”

Wukong thought to himself, “That’s not what I want to ask. Tell me, why would he do this?”
Tathagata had a very strange expression and said, “You monkey, how can you be so cunning? This is not the way of those who follow the path of nature.”
