Volume 4: The Revelation Unveiled Chapter 450: Eliminating the Five Elders

Zhu Rong shouted, “If you’re going, hurry up! Stop chatting here.”
Wukong asked, “Who else is idle in the mountains?”
Dayu replied, “The Golden God and the Wood God are assisting the divine apes in their cultivation. The Qilin and the Great Peng are in seclusion. Only Chi Songzi and Wu Zhiqi are free.”
Wukong said, “Good. It’s perfect to ask Senior Chi Songzi to help me with some tasks.” He told everyone to wait there while he went to find Chi Songzi. He had obtained many precious items from the Ten Continents and Three Islands, all prepared for those divine apes. Since he didn’t have time to handle them himself, he asked Chi Songzi to distribute them.

Chi Songzi readily agreed. Though these spiritual elixirs and herbs were excellent, ordinary people would suffer great harm if they consumed them. Only the divine apes could absorb their essence without loss. Chi Songzi understood the key to this.

Wukong searched the mountains again and found that most people were indeed cultivating. Only Wu Zhiqi, upon seeing Wukong pass by, hurriedly came out of his cave to stop him. Wukong asked, “Why aren’t you cultivating the ultimate art of water?”
Wu Zhiqi replied, “My progress has been slow lately. I think I’ve reached a critical stage and shouldn’t rush.”
Wukong nodded. Wu Zhiqi was already at the peak of the Hunyuan Golden Immortal realm. One more step forward would bring him to the state of sainthood—there was indeed no need to rush. So Wukong said, “I’m going to fight. Will you come?”
Wu Zhiqi gladly agreed. In cultivation, combat was also an important method for advancement, often yielding unexpected gains.

Wukong and Wu Zhiqi returned and saw that everyone was ready to set off. Then Wukong remembered he still had a treasure with him. In front of Hou Yi, he took out the Xuanyuan Bow and asked, “What do you think of this bow?”
Upon seeing it, Hou Yi exclaimed, “The Xuanyuan Bow!”
Wukong said, “You truly know how to appreciate fine things.”
Hou Yi replied, “This bow was made by the ancient Emperor Xuanyuan. How could I not recognize it? But its whereabouts became unknown later, and I never got the chance to use it.”
Wukong said, “If you like it, I’ll give it to you.”
There was no need for formalities between Hou Yi and Wukong. Hou Yi demonstrated some impressive skills with the massive bow. Before everyone could fully understand, he slung it across his back, pairing it with Hou Yi’s bow—one on each side, creating a symmetrical look.

Wukong couldn’t help but remind him, “This Xuanyuan Bow is indeed great, but it has one flaw: it can only shoot one arrow at a time.”
Hou Yi laughed heartily. “Others might be restricted by that, but I’m not afraid.”
Wukong glanced at Guanyin. He had heard that the Xuanyuan Bow absorbed its owner’s magical power—this was something he had learned from Guanyin herself. Guanyin couldn’t help but ask, “What makes you different?”
Hou Yi replied, “The special feature of this bow is that it can drain the magical power of its user, right?” Guanyin nodded.

Hou Yi said, “Ordinary people, when shooting, see the arrow leave the string and the bow stretch and relax, and think that archery is merely an act of expending energy. But that’s a huge mistake. The art of archery is endless; to control the arrow, one must first control the bow. Though this bow is powerful, I can control it!”
Seeing Hou Yi so enthusiastic about archery, as if the whole world was at his feet, Wukong couldn’t help but sigh to himself: If one can be so obsessed with something, how could they fail?
Guanyin said, “Let’s go. Di Ting is on Ling Mountain.”
The group left Qitian Ridge and rushed toward Ling Mountain. From afar, Wukong saw a peak on Ling Mountain that resembled Mount Luojia, and he knew this was Guanyin’s new residence. Wu Ping and Mu Zha must have moved here too, along with the Dragon Maiden. Thinking that the Dragon Maiden was safe, Wukong felt much more at ease for some reason. This woman, seemingly as clear as water and as pure as jade, carried an indescribable mystery.
Wukong suppressed his urge to find the Dragon Maiden and followed Guanyin to the Mahavira Hall.
The Mahavira Hall on Ling Mountain had been transformed from its original form into a majestic, solemn, and unadorned Buddhist hall. The plaque had also been changed from “Mahavira Hall” to “Hall of Great Compassion.”
Wukong looked at Guanyin and asked, “What does ‘Hall of Great Compassion’ mean?”
Guanyin replied calmly, “Great compassion gives rise to great mercy, which is needed to relieve suffering. Perhaps this name will soon be changed…”
Soon changed? Wukong thought about it but didn’t understand the true meaning.
Entering the hall, Maitreya and Ksitigarbha were not there; only Di Ting was lying on the hall, surrounded by many venerable beings. Guanyin said, “Venerable Maitreya and Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha are in North Kusala and Eastern Jambudvipa. If the divine beast Di Ting hears anything, these venerable beings will be sent to report it—this is the fastest way.”
Wukong nodded. These venerable beings all possessed the cultivation level of Hunyuan Golden Immortals. With their golden light, they could travel thousands of miles in an instant without delay. Dayu asked, “What should we do now?”
Before Guanyin could answer, Zhurong said, “Do we have to wait and strike back? Just destroy their lair directly!”
Guanyin replied, “It’s not easy. The Five Elders of Taoism possess extraordinary escape techniques. They can be defeated but are hard to capture.”
Hou Yi said, “We’ll have to try to find out.”
Seeing Hou Yi’s steady determination and recalling his masterful archery skills, Guanyin thought to herself that perhaps these people really could do it. So she said, “If we want to destroy their lair, then let’s go to Mount Luojia in the South Sea.” After saying this, Guanyin couldn’t help but laugh. Mount Luojia was originally her territory, but now it had become the enemy’s lair.
Wukong said, “Mount Luojia is very close to Kunlun Island. If they get reinforcements, it will backfire. It seems we have to use a decoy strategy.”
Guanyin said, “A decoy… Who would be suitable to go?”

Wukong smiled and said, “I already have a candidate. Wait a moment; I’ll be back soon.” With a somersault cloud, he soared into the sky and headed straight for the Purple Cloud Palace. It was a major affair to besiege the Five Elders of Taoism, and he certainly didn’t want to miss it. Besides, his Tianji Stick was effective against the powers of the Five Elders—someone else might suffer losses instead. Yaochi and Zhenwu were well-acquainted with the situation there; he just needed to explain his intentions, and they would naturally know what to do.

Guanyin and the others waited on the ground. In just a short while, Wukong returned and said, “Everything is taken care of.”

Everyone trusted Wukong, so they didn’t question how he accomplished this and set off for the South Sea.

The Five Elders of Taoism acted under the orders of the Jade Emperor, originally planning to use the power of sages to destroy the mortal kingdoms, thinking it would be an easy task. Yet they never expected there to be a divine beast named Diting that could keep track of their movements, nor did they realize that figures like Maitreya and Ksitigarbha were like persistent pests, constantly watching over them.

Destroying mortal kingdoms was easy, but taking control of fate afterward was a troublesome task. Thus, the Five Elders kept hiding, but it didn’t work very often. Frustrated, they gathered on Mount Luojia to discuss strategies.

At that moment, Yuanling the Elder’s expression changed as he said, “They’re here!”

The Five Elders rushed out of Mount Luojia and saw Wukong and Guanyin, along with two men, two women, and a little monkey, standing on the mountain—clearly, their arrival was not friendly. Danling the Elder pointed at Wukong and said, “It’s that strange monkey.”

Yuanling the Elder didn’t know where Wukong came from. They had lived in the Peach Tree Garden for a long time, and even famous figures in the world had heard of it, but no one had told them about the Divine Monkey of Fate.

At that moment, Yuanling’s gaze fell on Hou Yi, and his body trembled as he asked, “You… you’re Hou Yi?”

Hou Yi nodded and asked, “How do you recognize me?”

Yuanling shook his head in disbelief. Back then, Hou Yi had single-handedly entered the Peach Garden, stealing a peach from the mother tree. He had been one of those guarding the tree. At that time, his cultivation was weak, so he didn’t even dare to confront him directly. He still remembered Hou Yi’s cold determination and divine archery skills, and he hadn’t forgotten them over the years.

Hou Yi, of course, didn’t remember this insignificant person and didn’t bother to think about it.

Yuanling the Elder asked, “What do you want?”

Wukong replied coldly, “What crime have the mortals committed?”

Yuanling retorted, “What does it matter to you?”

Wukong didn’t answer further. He drew out his Tianji Stick and swung it at him. Yuanling instinctively raised a branch from the Peach Tree to block it. Danling the Elder, having suffered this before, shouted urgently, “Don’t!”

The words were spoken, but it was too late. The two forces collided as if stuck together, and the branch scattered like snow in the wind, with powder drifting down.
Yuanling Yuanlao was shocked—this spell was far too bizarre; it had ruined his treasured magic weapon after all these years.
Dayu and the others also joined in, showing no mercy toward these cultivators with high skills but evil intentions.
Danling Zhenlao feared Wukong greatly and did not dare fight Wuzhiji, so he turned to Zhurong. Raising his hands, he sent a ball of true fire at Zhurong. Seeing this fire, Zhurong laughed heartily—someone was even playing with fire in front of her, truly showing off one’s skills in front of a master.
With just a wave of her hand, she added a trace of fire energy and said, “Here’s your fire back.”
Danling Zhenlao saw that the flame defied his control and flew back toward him. Unwilling to give up, he stretched out his hands to grab it, only to feel intense heat the moment he touched it—his palms immediately caught fire.
Angered by these hypocritical Taoists, Zhurong unleashed a web of fire to trap Danling Zhenlao. Seeing that Zhurong’s fire seemed ordinary but contained terrifying power, Danling Zhenlao did not dare confront it head-on and plummeted downward, trying to use teleportation to escape.
As soon as he moved, a black light flashed before him, freezing him mid-air. The fire web descended and enveloped Danling Zhenlao tightly. A scream was heard as a saintly cultivator who had practiced in the Peach Tree Garden for tens of thousands of years turned to ashes in the flames.
With Danling Zhenlao dead, the other four elders were shocked. Perhaps they would lose, but who would have thought it would happen so quickly!
The five elders had supported each other for years, sharing deep bonds. At that moment, a white light flashed—it was Emperor Baodi of Haoling attacking Zhurong with a flying sword. Zhurong, mid-spell, quickly retreated.
Hou Yi shot two arrows: one was fired from his bow, shooting the flying sword away, while the other came from the Xuanyuan Bow, aiming straight at Emperor Baodi’s chest.
Emperor Baodi naturally tried to avoid it, leaping upward. At that moment, the Earth God’s power took effect—Emperor Baodi felt as if his feet were pulled upward. He reacted quickly, twisting his body into a strange shape to dodge the arrow.
Seeing how powerful these people’s techniques were, Yuanling Yuanlao realized he could not win. As the leader of the five elders, he had no concern for anyone else—only escaping was important. So he shot a blood arrow with his index finger, ready to use his invincible “Blood Teleportation Technique.”

Seeing that the Yuanling Elder was about to escape, Wukong was at a loss for what to do. Although Houyi was skilled with his arrows, his attention was entirely on the Haoling Emperor. At that moment, Wu Zhiqi stepped forward, pointed, and the blood arrow froze in midair, turning into a red ice pillar.
