Chapter 6: Unrestrained (Part 1)

The atmosphere of Lexing Star was boiling like water, stirred by the firepower from the ground. Attackers plunging from space into the atmosphere, along with warriors clad in starlight armor, rushed downward frantically. Their extreme speed created friction with the air, forming streaks of crimson flames. Countless trails of light streaked across the sky, combined with attacks from the ground, creating a colorful spectacle akin to countless fireworks exploding.

Li Ran smiled and said, “Alright, let’s go down too. They’re completely in chaos now—this is the perfect chance for us to enter Lexing Star without much effort.”
The seven reformed into a Five-Star Formation and charged toward the surface of Lexing Star.
In just a few moments, they entered the atmosphere. Li Ran casually threw a few punches, sending several warriors flying as they got too close. At that moment, artillery fire exploded nearby. Such attacks had no effect on the seven; they were merely ordinary strikes. More powerful attacks had already been dealt by their own people. Those warriors in starlight armor might not be able to harm Li Ran and his group, but they certainly could target targets on the ground.
In less than a minute, Li Ran’s team was close to the surface. Guo Shier pointed at a city not far away and said, “Over there! Let’s head straight into the city!”
Li Ran replied, “Good. I’ll go first!”
Before long, the seven landed on the roof of a building in the city. It was a metal roof, crowded with people—residents of the building who had come up to watch the battle in the sky. The sudden appearance of Li Ran and his group caused them to panic.
Li Ran and his team had no intention of killing these ordinary people. They wouldn’t attack such weak humans. But just because they wouldn’t act didn’t mean those people wouldn’t. A few foolish individuals, armed with weapons, attacked without hesitation the moment they saw the seven land.
Even without rune-based defense, Li Ran and his group could withstand such attacks with their bare bodies. The crowd on the roof grew agitated as they realized, in horror, that the attackers vanished silently before even reaching them. One of them suddenly grinned at them, then flicked his fingers. A few faint lights flashed, and the attackers collapsed to the ground.
Immediately afterward, the seven disappeared as if melting into the air. Only then did the crowd dare to approach the fallen men. They saw blood gushing from their mouths, and as they breathed out more than they inhaled, they soon stopped breathing.

The seven of them teleported to a small alley downstairs. Wang Dayang asked, “Should we destroy this city first?” He had just killed a few attackers, and his murderous intent was so strong that he couldn’t help but want to destroy the city.

Li Ran said, “There’s no need for that for now. Let’s find a place to rest for a while. We’ve been exhausted for so long; I’m not in the mood for fighting.”

Guo Shier couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Okay, let’s find a quieter place. Someone will probably come here soon.”

Ku Mu said, “I remember when we came down, I saw a group of houses over there… along with yards. It seems to be a pretty spacious area.”

Guo Shier said, “I saw it too. It seems to be a place inhabited by wealthy people.”

Li Ran said, “Let’s go!” The seven of them turned into a beam of light and disappeared in an instant. Ever since they started traveling through the void, their ability to move had become even more mysterious.

Soon, the seven entered a large courtyard, where there were many guards. Wang Dayang quickly killed them all. Ever since he was severely injured, he had become ruthless in killing. No one tried to stop him. For them, those people could be killed or not; since Wang Dayang wanted to act, there was no need to stop him.

There were three large houses in the courtyard, similar to villas, but the owners were clearly not there—either they had fled or never lived there at all.

The group took over the largest house and went inside to rest. The interior was luxuriously furnished, with various decorations and advanced devices. However, Li Ran and the others didn’t understand them, so they simply rested in the opulent living room.

All seven were very tired. Li Ran said, “Let’s take turns on duty. You rest first; I’ll be on guard.”

Without hesitation, they all went to sleep. They had been fighting nonstop, and even if they weren’t physically injured, their souls were extremely exhausted.

Wang Dayang, however, didn’t sleep. Instead, he immediately began reciting scriptures. Ever since he obtained the Soul Scriptures, he had been studying them diligently. They were very helpful for healing his injuries, but he had never found time to recite them. As his soul fluctuated, those around him also benefited greatly.

Guo Shier fell asleep almost immediately. This kind of sleep was highly effective for restoring the exhaustion of the soul. As a spellcaster, especially a top-tier one like them, they wouldn’t have any problems even if they went half a year without sleeping. But having the chance to sleep was still an excellent way to recover.

Snoring sounds came in waves; even Qi Zhen and Serichelin let out slight snoring. Li Ran smiled faintly as he opened the star map and began to examine it carefully. This place was not the destination—Lewen Star was merely their temporary stop. He knew that the United Spirit Kingdom would soon realize the situation, and that sending troops alone would not be enough to deal with them. By then, the United Spirit Kingdom would send experts to hunt them down.

After studying it for a long time, Li Ran sighed softly. He couldn’t find the coordinates of the galaxy he was familiar with, and what worried him most was that he couldn’t sense the presence of the main soul. He couldn’t figure out what had happened. With his current spiritual strength, he should be able to easily sense the fluctuations of the main soul, but now he couldn’t sense anything at all. His intuition told him that something serious had happened to the main soul. Although he wanted to take control of it, if the main soul was damaged, it would be a huge blow to him as well, meaning his true body might no longer exist.

The group stayed in the house for three days, taking turns to rest, then each ate a little before starting to discuss their next move.

During these three days, entire Lewen Star fell into chaos. Those defeated soldiers managed to land on Lewen Star, but because they attacked ground targets, they were regarded as rebels and ordered to lay down their weapons and surrender. Of course, they refused—laying down their weapons would likely mean immediate execution. So they went mad, attacking anyone blindly and starting to rob the wealthy. Since most of them were equipped with starlight weapons and were extremely powerful, they almost wiped out all the armed forces on Lewen Star.

These three days also gave the United Spirit Kingdom some time to prepare. Fleets had already arrived at Lewen Star and sealed off the entire planet, preventing anyone from entering or leaving.

It wasn’t long before the United Spirit Kingdom’s leaders understood the situation, and they were immediately faced with a grave threat. Any high-ranking official of a powerful star nation understood one thing: one must not offend extremely skilled experts. If offended, either one would suffer misfortune or must eliminate them at all costs, otherwise, it would lead to endless troubles—this was a conclusion drawn from countless painful lessons. In any case, Li Ran and his seven companions had become a serious threat to the entire United Spirit Kingdom, and they knew that their military strength alone was not enough to eliminate such terrifying experts.

So the United Spirit Kingdom began to gather experts, hoping to use their strength to completely eliminate this threat.

But to gather top experts requires not only a great deal of effort but also substantial compensation. According to the information obtained, the United Spirit Kingdom is aware that their opponents this time are extremely powerful—capable of even defeating fleets—and there are seven of them in total. Therefore, they need to recruit quite a number of experts, at least ten or more top experts.

The United Spirit Kingdom already has some experts from the Secret Race on its side, but their numbers are too small, so they must invite more experts from that race as well. However, all of this takes time, which is why the United Spirit Kingdom’s fleet has blockaded Leiwén Star, preventing anyone from entering or leaving.

As for the wealthy and high-ranking officials on Leiwén Star, they have been abandoned by the United Spirit Kingdom. At such times, the United Spirit Kingdom appears utterly ruthless. Compared to its elite, those wealthy and high-ranking officials are nothing more than local tycoons—utterly insignificant, and even if sacrificed, they have no way to resist. Of course, the truly wealthy still have ways to cope.

Three days later, Li Ran and the others had fully recovered. They sat in the living room discussing their next steps.

Li Ran said, “I guess the United Spirit Kingdom must have made some preparations during this time. I just checked the communications here—Leiwén Star is completely blocked off. Two fleets have arrived, and more are on their way. What should we do next? Do anyone have any ideas?”

After three days of recovery, especially thanks to the refinement through the Soul Scriptures, Wang Dayang’s injuries had improved. It must be said that the Soul Scriptures are a superweapon. Wang Dayang originally thought he was done for, but after three days of refinement, there were signs of recovery, and his extreme mindset gradually returned to normal.

He said, “Just seize a starship and leave… But I have no idea where to go!”

Everyone couldn’t help but laugh at this. By now, everyone felt a bit lost, not knowing where to go.

Guo Shier said, “Elder brother, you know the universe better than I do. I’ll follow your lead on what to do.” A thought crossed his mind—whether he could still find Earth. If he could, maybe he could go back and take a look. But he quickly dismissed this idea. The world was too vast; returning would be extremely difficult.

Qi Wuzhen said disdainfully, “Do they really think they can block our escape with fleets? How ridiculous.”

Kumu said, “It seems they’re trying to stall us…” His words hit the mark.

Li Ran suddenly realized and said, “That’s right, it must be to hold us back… They’re waiting for experts to arrive. Hehe, in my guess, it’s very likely that experts from the Secret Tribe will be brought in. I just don’t know how many they can summon.”
Guo Shier said, “Experts from the Secret Tribe—unless they’re at the level of Xing Yunzi and Lan Landai, then no matter how many come, it’s useless.”
Wang Dayang said, “People like Xing Yunzi and Lan Landai are probably the top figures even within the Secret Tribe. There definitely won’t be many such experts.”
